What is funny is how over half of the people who commented here, people whose national team couldn't qualify for the world cup from a seemingly weak group, are shading the Norwegian team!
OkanlawonB: Though sounds like a made up story , but such situation may occur. The judgement is a miscarriage of justice, there is a written tenancy aggrement or not , a tennant should not make any major alteration to a rented property without seeking the approval of the landlord.
So, he fixed solar panels on the roof, without damaging the roof. Where is the "alteration" you mentioned?
If landlord doesn't approve of it, the common sense thing to do is to request the tenant to remove them. Correct?
Instead he got some people to forcibly remove them, and they got damaged in the process.
Learn a lesson here, wether the story was true or not.
IkeOnyia: This flyover is aesthetically defective as it blocks the magnificent view of the Assumpta Cathedral when driving.
There's no ending to the pointless things folks observe.
A flyover to ease traffic congestion in this location is "aesthetically defective" because it prevents your getting stimulated as you try to ogle the cathedral.
Tyautor: Abeg, make una calm down… this Crosstour clean pass 90% of the cars wey dey road right now. No scratches, no wahala, just pure flex and comfort — and yes, ₦17M only.
One month on Nigerian road, and the ride will be looking like an escapee from Borno IDP camp
Jakumo: That final act of mercy by the man was totally unexpected. After all the bites he sustained, I was certain that the man's survival instinct, fueled by justified rage, would make him terminate the dog in revenge, but also to make sure the raging toothy beast didn't try and launch another comeback.
I think the reason he spared the dog was probably he knows the dog and it's owner.
I think this is a location he is familiar with, and probably lives nearby.
Jakumo: With American military assistance, Nigeria's terrorist problem would be consigned to the history books in a matter of months as drones operating with AI target acquisition capability would be launched to neutralize kidnap/herder/bandit gangs with surgical precision from the air, until there are no further targets left to annihilate.
Ahhhh.... wishful thinking
Why would America want to do this? That is the billion dollar question.
There's no reason, motivation or any gain for US to send forces, either as direct combatants or for training or any form of military assistance, into Nigeria.
Yes, USAID has been shown to be culpable in sponsoring terror in the country, but the current US President has done his bit by ending it. The rest is up to Nigeria (which, by the way, IS NOT READY, OR WILLING to do anything about it) Few days ago, there was incursion into a remote village in Kwara State bu terrorists. Same location got hit again yesterday, with multiple deaths and kidnappings. FG said zilch about it. In fact, Tinubu is preparing to go on another overseas junketing to Brazil and Japan 😁😁😁
DeepSight: Much of Lagos is indeed safe - to the extent that it is largely untroubled by the spectacular killings and kidnappings by bandits roaming the country. Specifically, elite neighborhoods are specially safe.
I make bold to say that the reason why Lagos is relatively calm (not safe) and not witnessing the sort of mass killings and kidnappings prevalent in other parts of the country, is because of the large population density.
Such kidnappings and mass slaughter requires that communities are isolated from the major urban areas. This gives room for the bandits to be able to strike and escape on roads that are mostly empty at nights.
Look out for matured stems when buying: they last longer, and are more resistant to insect pests.
More important, after the formwork for the top floors are done, if you can afford to, also do the plastering of the externals walls immediately while the bamboo scaffolding is still in place.
Else, if they become weak after several months of exposure to the elements, you may have to buy a new set.
Jakumo: I wondered about that because there are a few skits that use the police badge-cam shtick. The one moment when I doubted the authenticity of the video clip was when the lady went to the trunk of her car to retrieve her business card. Keeping a business card in the trunk of a car struck me as odd, and I also noticed that when the "policeman" could not see her hands, he did not tell her to stop blocking his view with her body.
I have seen video clips of black people tackled to the ground by a team of racist cops after much less "provocation" than this lady attorney displayed in standing up for her rights, and I also noted that NO backup drove up when the officer requested it.
Finally, the gigantic fake eyelashes and acres of cleavage shown by the woman led me to doubt that she was an attorney, since an older woman who is not in particularly good physical shape ought to know that dressing in a revealing manner could become an irritant to a judge in court.
On balance, I just don't know whether or not this is an authentic clip.
Not gonna take a guess if this was a skit or not.
However, the moment the lady turned her back, bent over and reached into the trunk for her business card (and did it a second time to fetch her ID) I expected the cop to shout a warning and maybe even pull out his sidearm and aim at her.
That was a reckless move that got a lot of people shot. Who keeps their purse with identification in the trunk?
Vianna: I've never been a fan of building to rent as I've heard scary tales about tenants but I had no choice due to certain circumstances. I was far away from lagos when the caretaker called me some months back that he has gotten someone for one of the apartments. I spoke with the so called Tennant on phone and asked a few questions.
Are you single? No I don marry with one pikin. Not a fan of kids in compound. Not even a fan of married people. But it's still overlookable.
what do you do for a living I get barbing salon to support my side hustle. To support side hustle? I was already thinking of something else as most yahoo boys own stuffs like barbing shops to support their side hustle.
Well I just gave him the benefit of the doubt and asked him to pay the caretaker and move in.
Few months later I was in lagos and I saw him for the first time. Ear rings , tatoos, I was like damn, damn, not yahoo boys again as they tend to be very difficult to live with. Well, the damage is already done as he had paid and moved in already.
My first few nights were kinda hell as he runs gen all almost half of the day and all through the night. He doesn't even switch off his gen at dawn after running through the night. Fuel always finishes in it, he doesn't switch off.
Not been easy as I find it difficult to sleep with noise not to talk of generator noise.
You own a house that you intent to live in and share with tenants, yet you did not personally insist on seeing prospective tenants by yourself and interview them face to face and decide if you will like to share your private space with such a people?
kingbee90: 1st of all, that 2015 C-class Benz is not upto N75M.
2ndly, the driver of that Benz was on colos.
3rdly, the nairaland mod who banned me for 2 weeks, I hope he has already made it in life? If not, he will remain a nairaland employee & keep earning N80k through out his miserable life.
Lastly, I will continue to abuse Agbadorians on this platform since they keep supporting that Iragbiji druggie & they no wan get sense.
Rubbish!!
Another observation: that car was involved in an accident before it got fixed and repainted and shipped down to Naija. You can tell by the white paint at the door handles. Factory painting will never put such design on cars. Many salvaged and re-painted cars are sometimes touched up that way. Not sure why.
gidgiddy: Obasanjo only fought to be a slave of the core North
That is another way to view it.
However, I must admit that he is probably the most fulfilled of his generation in this shitty country.
it is irksome that a totally undeserving and worthless piece of rat shit called Buhari was elevated to achieve same feat as OBJ did, becoming a civilian and military head of state.
Stil on still... Bro, you have no idea how I'm rooting for you over this project. It has taken way longer than it should, but I understand.
I also see new projects round that neighborhood, from your last pics.
My projects so far has been mostly commercial buildings.
State of the economy has greatly slowed things down, but I'm looking forward to when I'll build a personal house for myself, and I'm looking at something of same size and style as yours.
Just two days ago, I bought bags of cement at ₦9,500 per! Imagine that
REUBEN010: I grow red scotch bonnet pepper (rodo) but mine is a heirloom OPV I bought from a local farmer over here. I have been replanting the seeds for the past 4years and have been getting good results.
Great. Means you have seeds that have not been modified (GMO) Please, guard them diligently
ekineme: "Closet Gaybreal spotted" Go for deliverance@ Op, there's nothing Normal about your thought, it's not natural, same as drunkness, gambling, womanizing, stealing. It's either wrong influence or you are being possessed.
Such a total idiōt you are
Dude was merely analysing the possible way men and women react to same situation when a friend of theirs come out of the closet.
As you no kuku go better school and ya brain no sabi basic comprehension, na to dey yarn opata you fit do.
Buhari probably will pass o level mathematics before you could pass grade 2 English language.
givedemwotowoto: Lagos indigenes have said they don’t have a problem with Igbos, but they do have a problem with people from neighboring states claiming Lagos to be theirs and trying to sideline the indigenes and determine who stays in Lagos.
As in, Lagosians were accommodating enough to attract people from all over the country and beyond, but some people who also moved to Lagos from neighboring states are now claiming Lagos and scaring away other dwellers with their obnoxious behaviors
I didn’t make this up. It’s on the news
It is not about Lagosians being accommodating.
It is simply the outcome of making any location the country's capital. Same thing is happening in Abuja. The indigenes are there and welcome people from every part of the country.
If Enugu, Kogi, Jigawa or any State becomes the capital tomorrow, the indigenes have no choice than to welcome everyone else.
If you say this to any Igbo person, you cannot get a reaction from him. This comment can never get him pissed off. Do you know why? Because they are mere words that hold no impact. Make same comment about Lagos to a Yoruba man, and he'll go into an epileptic fit.
SamaritanGirl: Let her eat it first. Nothing will make me employ house help.
Good to see you're female. It is usually the woman who decides (and gives final authority ) on employing a maid (househelp in Naija parlance)
I am against it as well, but madam insisted she needed one. My mind "no touch ground" after she finally got one. I'm always scared she might harm my kids. Until mother in-law visited and she found pins in the food the maid served her!
No way two small pins could have gotten into the food by mistake. Madam promptly fired her, and we have been living in some peace since then!
Bestmanfornow: The Ten storey Five Star hotel which Anambra state governor Prof Charles Soludo is constructing in Awka where the 10,000 seating International convention Centre is located has commenced fully
Do you know how hotels receive star ratings? Obviously not.
Otherwise, you won't describe a hotel that has barely commenced full service, even though is new, has a five star rating.
There is NO single five star hotel in Nigeria. People may say a certain hotel in the country is five star because it looks cool, but none has such rating yet. Most of the top hotels in Naija are rated 3 stars at most.
yoruboid: Are these the primitive people we keep arguing with on SM
Celebrating their first bus stop in 2024
Not true. There are many designated bus stops in Aba. I can tell because I've been there countless times. What this report probably meant was that a structure that serves as bus stop shelter was built for the first time.
Reality3080: See where people build house for crying out loud n later some people will start crying victimization
Does this make sense?
When you realize these houses have approved building plans, registered survey plans and have been paying land use charge to LASG, why won't they claim victimization if govt demolish their houses?
It is same govt officials that are complicit in these shady approvals in the first place. That is what makes it painful.
I avoided lots of buildings located near drainages when I wanted to rent or buy.
