This is the sad truth in Nigeria, especially Lagos.
I'm even more worried now, because my inlaw just got a 2009 Corolla. Told him I wouldn't drive a Corolla because it is a magnet for thieves and robbers.
He decided to buy a manual transmission, though. He said that manual is less attractive to thieves. Don't know how true that is.

I prefer to use Volvo S60. Same fuel economy and low maintenance cost.

Highrise buildings don't just spring up without a steady and stable supply of electricity to lower the elevators installed in them. There are high rises on Lagos Island. My younger bro once worked in an office on the 12th floor of one of those buildings. Because the building manager has to use generators to assure power failures don't interrupt, the elevators are usually operated in the mornings from 8 to 10am, and in the afternoons from 4 to 5pm. On between those hours, you will have to climb the staircase. How is this practical?

Those 4 and 5 storey buildings at Onitsha could have been built into 20 storeys of Nigeria had achieved stable power supply since independence.

It is a no brainer.

About six months ago, I returned home from work and discovered that my wife and four children were no where to be found. I also noticed her that belongings and that of the children were missing.

I quickly dashed out of my flat and went to my neighbours to enquire of their whereabout. I was shocked to my bone marrows when they narrated to me how a man accompanied my wife to move out her belongings. When they tried to intrude the man warned them of serious consequences.

I reported to the pastor and she was warned. Then the identity of the lover wasn't known to me. I just let it go, because I still needed the marriage for the sake of my four children.
However, I began to investigate without her knowing. Then I discovered that the secret lover was a custom officer, named Adeniyi Adesola, he was in Ibadan command. He is married with children.
One day he called my wife and I just could bear the insults, I confronted him on phone I warned him to stay away and reminded him that she was married.
Then he started abusing me and even threatened to kill me. He revealed to me that he knew my wife before I married her. He told me to backoff and let him always have access to her or he will kill me.
I reported the matter to the ekpan police station warri. The IPO who was a lady advised me to thread with caution and report to my family which I did.
I am from Edo State and my wife is from Ondo state. The custom officer is from Ekiti state. The custom officer, Adesola was intimidating me because I was not understanding their language.

I gave my wife everything she needed. I got a loan of 5m from a bank to set up a business for her. She squandered the money and there is nothing to show now in the shop. The bank has started moving in on me, I don't know what to do.

The custom officer I heard has kept my wife and children in Ibadan because his wife couldn't take it.
MY children are not in school and my wife just gave birth to a baby for the custom officer.
Meanwhile, she has not returned the bride price but she has delivered a baby for the customs officer.

As for the economic crunch, it got to me.
Even Dangote felt it, much less poor me.
You should realize that the advice I gave you was borne out of experience.
Means I handled personal DIY projects with minimal funds, and I still do.

And in the course of it, i realized that badgering folks for info as you just did isn't of much help.
After you've commenced on this project of yours, you will get to find this out yourself.

Sorry to say this (actually, I'm not sorry ) These sort of questions are borne out of laziness and indecision.

You mean, without getting actual quotes or estimates on how much this project will cost, you wouldn't begin the job of making the fence?

See, I know that money is the problem here. But then, if you are serious about fencing a plot of land with three courses of blocks, you wouldn't come online to ask for estimates so long as you have a little finance to at least
1. Buy few bags of cement (say 10 to 15 bags, to start with)
2. Buy at least 2 to 3 trips of sand for moulding blocks.
3. Employ labour to mould the blocks with the required specifications.
Or, if you prefer to buy blocks, then buy whatever quantity you can afford to, at first.

You merely do these things according to your financial capability. After reasonable number of blocks have been made/bought then you get labour to dig the foundation for the fence and commence the job.

At worse, if you can't afford 10 bags and 2 trips of sand at a go, nobody will prevent you from buying just 5 bags and a trip of sand to start with.

Beginning is half done, if you're serious.
Stop asking for estimates over things that should take decisiveness and some common sense.

Price of cement keeps changing. Sand will become more costly as rainy season approaches.
Get to work, and don't seek for excuses by asking for estimates for DIY, pay as you go projects such as this one.

You may take this as a constructive criticism, or you can be the typical man by lashing at me. Who cares, really?
