Few Minutes after the match yesterday, a Brazilian football fan was shot and killed in Sao Paulo in fights that broke out after the local team Palmeiras lost to Chelsea in the Club World Cup, a police source said.
Fans had gathered outside Allianz Parque, the Palmeiras stadium, to watch the game being played in the United Arab Emirates. Chelsea won 2-1.

Afterward fights broke out among fans of the Brazilian team.

Local media said a 35-year-old man was shot in the chest and later died.

The festive atmosphere and nerves over the course of the game gave way to confusion and violence as soon as the match ended.

According to a Twitter user, @perrisonoromoni, who took to the platform to call the school out and demand justice for the death of his cousin, the young boy was bullied to join a cult in the school, and when he blatantly refused, he was killed.

The Twitter user claimed that after the boy was beaten to a pulp by the cult boys who he identified before he died, the school called his dad, alleging that he got injured while playing football. However, on getting to the hospital, doctors confirmed that he had been severely beaten, causing internal damage.

APC Does Not Have What Should Be The Conscience Of The Party – Chieftain
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sunny Sylvester Moniedafe has identified the lack of a Board of Trustees (BOT) in the party as the reason behind the frequent crisis in the ruling party.

Moniedafe said the BOT should be the conscience of the party but six years after it got into power, the ruling party has failed to have a BOT.

He however stated that the time has come to change the narrative and do what is right.

The party stalwart spoke in Abuja on Wednesday adding that serving governors, former governors, lawmakers, and other hand-picked persons should no longer be allowed to unilaterally decide what obtains in the party without deferring to the party’s constitution.



“It is time for the APC to do the right thing. Let us change the narrative. I have a deep desire to unite the party and Nigeria.

“I will heal many wounds in the APC as chairman of the party. There is a need to make Nigeria better. Godfatherism will no longer work in APC.

“APC does not have a BOT which should be the conscience of the party six years after clinching power. As a result, crises within the party festers.

“It’s only in Nigeria that a person goes to bed a pauper, and wakes up a millionaire just because he has a political godfather or grandfather somewhere. Please, join me and let’s stop this Frankenstein Monster being created from being unleashed on the nation,” he said.

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped one person during an attack on a Secondary School in Yebu, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

It was learned that the gunmen invaded the staff quarters of the school on Saturday night and abducted the Vice Principal of the school, Mohammed Nuhu.

Speaking with Daily Trust, a teacher in the school said some of the gunmen surrounded the quarters, while others scaled the fence into the compound.

The source said the kidnappers tied down the security guard before they broke into the apartment of the vice-principal and whisked him away.



The teacher stated that some teachers that are staying inside the quarters could not be able to come out because of the sporadic gunshots.

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has deployed soldiers and other security operatives to strategic locations in the FCT over reports of an impending terrorist attack.

According to the Nigerian military, it got some security reports on Tuesday evening that some terrorists were planning to attack the FCT.

Daily Sun reports that the military said the insurgents are planning to enter the FCT through the Abuja-Keffi expressway and other entry points.

The report further disclosed that the soldiers have mounted roadblocks at all entry and exit points into the FCT, and are conducting stop and search operations on specific vehicles and passengers.



The roadblocks were mounted by soldiers of the Guards Brigade, who are responsible for the security of the President, his immediate family, VIPs, as well as the FCT and its environs.

The operation, which began midnight Tuesday, is said to have led to the arrest of some suspects who are now assisting the security operatives with useful information.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly requested from Mastercard Inc and Visa, through a letter, the details of the credit cards recently obtained from musician Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.

The recently recovered cards are suspected to be used for alleged identity theft and credit card fraud by the artiste.

According to information gathered by Punch, the letter with subject “Investigation Activities”, signed by Dein Whyte, the Zonal Head of EFCC, Lagos was written to the credit card companies on Monday May 13, 2019, requesting for details of the cards recovered from the artiste.

The agency’s letter to MasterCard reads “The commission is investigating a case of identity theft and electronic cards-related fraud in which the listed card information were recovered during investigation.”

Also, in its letter to Visa, the agency requested that the company prefer details about the last five transactions on each of the Visa cards obtained from the artiste, Punch reports.

According to the newspaper, the first card with number 4921819410257431 was issued by Lloyds Bank Plc and bears the name Timea Fedorne Tatar.

While the second card with number 4539782440624281 was issued by Barclays Bank Plc and bears the name Nicole Louise Maylon, and the third card with number 4757147207869807, issued by Santander UK Plc bears the name Sharon Broad.

In its letter to Mastercard, the agency also requested that the company provide information about the last five transactions on a MasterCard card recovered from the artiste.

Punch reports that the card with number 5354631405139323 was issued by Prepay Technologies Ltd and it bears the name Linh H. Mendez Rojas.

The anti-corruption agency recently filed 11 charges against Naira Marley, following his arrest on Friday May 10, 2019.

On Thursday, May 30, 2019, the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos granted the artiste bail on the conditions of a Two Million Naira (2,000,000) bond, and two sureties, one with landed property and the other, a Civil Servant, not lower than a level officer.

The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, has nullified the emergence of Ned Nwoko as the senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.

The court in a decision on Thursday said the case instituted at the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court which resulted in the recognition of Mr Nwoko as the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission was wrongly filed.

The appellate court ruled that the matter ought to have been brought at the lower court before the expiration of 14 days from the time of the incidence that birthed the suit.

A fatal accident has occurred on the Hawan – Kibo – Jos road involving a truck with registration number BSA214XA, and a Toyota Hiace bus marked BSA453XJ.

The accident, which occurred on Tuesday evening, claimed seven lives, leaving six persons severely injured.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the truck belongs to Dangote Company while the bus was from God’s Time is the Best Transport company in Jos.

An eyewitness, who prefered anonymity, said that the brake of the truck failed and the driver lost control, crashing into the oncoming bus.

The eyewitness also said that the truck was speeding when the brake failed, resulting in the fatal incident.

Mr Andrew Bala, the Public Education Officer of the Plateau Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident.

Bala said the 13 victims involved in the accident were all adults, consisting of 10 males and three females.

He commended the timely response of FRSC personnel, who mobilised to the scene for rescue operations, adding that the injured were moved for immediate medical attention while the bodies of those that died were deposited at the mortuary.

He said,

“The injured persons are currently receiving treatment at Salama hospital, Gidan-Waya, while the bodies of those who died were deposited at the morgue of General Hospital, Kafachan, all in Kaduna State”.

Bala advised motorists to drive with care and desist from speeding, particularly during this rainy season.

He also advised motorists to ensure their vehicles are re in good condition before plying the highways.

“A 29 year old monster raped my cousin’s 2-year old daughter yesterday at 2pm, during Ramadan.

He is their neighbor, he went into the compound, gave her chocolate and picked her up.

In Ramadan, in the afternoon. A 2year old girl.

When we took her to the hospital, the doctors and nurses that examined her were all crying.

They broke down and cried.

The monster denied it, but thankfully my little niece can speak, & she said it was him. She called his name more than thrice.

Her older brother was there too when the monster gave her milo, he said it too.

A neighbor also saw the monster pick her up.

But the boy denied it, he is still denying it.

My cousin’s husband said ‘ya yafe’, he is leaving the boy to Allah. But I am not comfortable with this decision. It is not about ‘yafewa’, it is about justice, it is about other children.

I am currently not in the best state of health to pursue this case to the end, but I need to know if there’s any organization or group, or anyone that can help get justice for my innocent little girl, & save other children from the monster.

Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and 392 other passengers, on Wednesday, escaped a plane crash in Lagos due to bad weather.

It was gathered that the aircraft, ET-901, departed the Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, this morning, but found it difficult to land at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

A NAN correspondent who was among the passengers, said rather than landing on the first touchline of the runway, the pilot overshot it, due to rain and heavy wind, landing on the third touchline.

On realising this, the pilot quickly manoeuvred the plane back air, flying out of the Lagos airport. After hovering around between Lagos and areas suspected to be in Ogun, causing panic in passengers and crew members, the plane landed in Lagos airport, some 20 minutes after the initial false landing.

A Nigerian man has taken to his Facebook page to recount how a delay at the ATM saved him from entering a bus that was involved in a fatal accident that claimed 5 lives yesterday, May 18th. The man, MC Paschal Obinna Drich, wrote

I shouted and shouted for me to follow this bus but to no Avail so I had to wait for the next one.. A Nigerian student identified as Augustine Wallies, has been murdered by his compatriots after he was accused of stealing his roommate’s money in Cyprus.

According to the police, Augustine, a student of the Near East University, was hit on the head till he passed out and his body was dumped in a forest area in Haspolat on Friday, April, 19, 2019.

However, with the help of surveillance cameras, 12 people, including 9 Nigerians, have been arrested in connection with the murder and 3 of them have admitted their roles.

The suspects appeared in court in Lefkosa, today. One of the suspects told the police that the murder took place in the living room of an apartment. He added that the deceased was severely beaten and strangled. .

Those arrested include: Eze Christopher, Ambrose Kelechi ONYEUKWU, Afamaefune Hanry UWADIBIE, Clement Ozuman MANUFUR, Christian Chukwuka ALZANI.

The Imo state police command have arrested a 23-year-old lady, Chinonye Oparaocha, alongside other suspects for allegedly selling her six hours old baby boy for N850,000, shortly after delivery at a hospital along Nekede road in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state.

A statement from the state police command spokesperson, Orlando Ikeokwu, says that the baby was sold by a nurse, Confidence Anyanwu, who facilitated the shady deal.

The statement reads

“On 8/02/2019, at an undisclosed clinic along Nekede Road in Owerri West L.G.A, one Chinonye Oparaocha ‘f’ was delivered of a baby boy. The said Chinonye Oparaocha later conspired with one Confidence Anyanwu, a nurse and native of Umuhu Okwuato in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area but resident at No. 41 Mbaise Road Owerri in company of her husband Amaeze Anyanwu now at large who carried the six (6) hours born baby to Port – Harcourt in Rivers State where one Duru Christian was waiting for them.

On arrival at Port – Harcourt, Duru Christian in the company of one Mrs George Iyowuna met them at the hideout, took over the baby boy and handed over to a prospective buyer one Mrs William Cynthia and her husband who eventually paid the sum of N850, 000.00 (eight hundred and fifty thousand naira).on 13/04/2019.

Operatives of the Scorpion Squad arrested the above-named suspects and recovered the newly born baby boy Abiya William while efforts are on-going to arrest the fleeing members of the syndicate. “Suspects have made useful statements to the police concerning the crime and are helping the police in the investigation.”

Operatives arrested a Nigerian businessman identified as Azubuike Obiaghanwa Onwigbolu, 32, a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga, at 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, through a buy-bust operation wherein a police personnel acted as a poser buyer.

Before Sunday’s arrest, a similar buy-bust operation was held on Saturday that resulted in the arrest of Mbaneto Sopuluchukwu, 22. The Philippines Dangerous Drugs Act prescribes the death penalty for drug traffickers.

A Christian woman has said prayers stopped charm from being planted in her house.

It was gathered that a woman came to plant charm at her home in South Africa, but instead went next door.

The neighbor said she found the woman digging and sprinkling charm in her yard on Thursday. She said she called her sister to come and see. When they asked her what she was doing, the woman apologized and said she was at the wrong address.Evil woman buries charm

Residents said they didn’t want her in their area. The woman was taken to the police station for her safety.
