In 07/08, Chelsea went unbeaten but lost to United in the finals
In 11/12 Bayern were unbeaten but lost to Chelsea in the finals.

Who cares to remember that all these guys were unbeaten? Absolutely no one. History only praises the eventual winners.

If Arsenal goes unbeaten and wins the UCL, it will be famously remembered for years to come but if they don't win, then it was all for nothing and they'll be laughed at.
