25-year-old man who attempted to hide under the tyre carriage of a Medview aircraft on a domestic flight was apprehended yesterday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos.

The young man’s name could not be immediately verified as at the time of writing this report .
Airport workers hinted that he succeeded in gaining access into the tyre compartment of the aircraft which was ready for taxing on the Tarmac .
He hid himself at the tyre compartment in the under carriage of the aircraft . A source hinted that final inspection round the plane by the pilot drew his attention to some strange movements and object inside the tyre compartment.
The man was handed over to the police at the domestic airport where he confessed he has nursed the ambition of carry out the act for two weeks and had been holed up around the airport while perfecting his plan.

The stowaway was said to have confessed that he did what he did out of desperation to leave the country for another in the quest for greener pasture.
When asked how he found his way into the tyre compartment of the aircraft, he declared that he jumped through the fence that demarcated the VIP Lounge section of the airport from the tarmac where the plane was waiting for clearance for takeoff.
A police officer at the domestic wing confirmed the incident but declined to give further comment .
He said the stowaway has been handed over to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further questioning.

The police in Anambra State yesterday discovered and evacuated bodies of four ladies who reporedly died mysteriously in a two-storey building along the Olisa Onyeka Crescent, Commissioner’s Quarters, Ifite Awka.

Following a tip-off, policemen, led by the Commissioner, Hassan Karma, invaded the building, with an ambulance and morticians, broke into the room and took away the corpses at the weekend.

An eyewitness said, “the police, on arrival, broke the door of the room and discovered four dead bodies.” The eyewitness explained that the four ladies were reported to have died Saturday night in a room without bruises or attack from anyone.

According to him, the deceased include the owner of the room and a staff of Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission INEC, Awka, (names with held). Meanwhile, the identities of other three ladies had not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
Owner of the building, Ify Onyebumuo, said she was contacted on telephone by one of the tenants, saying they were looking for the deceased since Saturday. The woman revealed that the deceased had lived in the building for about 11 months.
Caretaker of the building, Machie Ignatius, said he was contacted on telephone by some tenants who told him they suspected some people died in that room. It was also confirmed by one of the tenants that the husband of the deceased died on Friday and was taken to mortuary.

Commissioner of Police, Karma, confirmed that some tenants had reported having sensed an odor suggesting that someone` might have died in the room.
Karma also confirmed that the husband who lived in Cotonou, Benin Republic, but visited her, died on Friday in the same room, saying that the identity of the other three women could not be ascertained.
The police chief said police discovered a generator set and a remnant pot of soup, adding that the corpses have been deposited to the mortuary for further investigation.
