The rate of Nigerian girls getting trafficked to Europe to sell their bodies have quadrupled from a few hundreds of women to several thousands in 2016.

In a series of interview and research done by Maggie Neil, a writer and researcher based in Italy, two Nigerian girls, Favour and Peace, revealed the unexpected horrors they found in Italy.

Favour is from Edo State, though from the more rural area, outside of the city. She was reluctant to take a oath and follow a woman to Italy afraid she would be forced into prostitution.

It was only once the woman assured her that she would be working in a shop that Favour agreed. She was told the money would be easy to come by once she was in Europe.

Lanre Gentry, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, seems to have moved on.

Gentry was release from Kirikiri prison last Tuesday, after he was detained for seven days for alleged battering of Mercy.‎

In his Instagram private account on Saturday, Gentry who was docked at a magistrate court in Ikeja Lagos for wife battery recently, posted the photograph of himself and another beautiful lady.

He wrote a short caption for the Black and White photo, “Temi My Love”.

At the weekend, Mercy Aigbe declined comment on her marriage saga when DAILY POST asked her to give an update.Earlier, in response to claim by her husband that she had sex with several men even while married to him, Aigbe had insisted she was never promiscuous and that the allegation was aimed at tarnishing her image.

“Before I got married, there was no scandal about me being promiscuous, no one could say that I was sleeping around; so why would I now do such as a married woman?

I endured all the things that I went through in his hands because of my children and also because of the fact that people look up to me as a role model. I have been through a lot and I pray and fast a lot so that things would go on smoothly. I have been praying and enduring a lot but this last time, the beating was brutal and he almost killed me.”

A man has been caught pants down while trying to convince his friend’s wife to have sex with him on her matrimonial bed.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the naked man is seen begging the woman’s husband after he was caught.

A 23-year-old spinster, Khadija Ibrahim, has dragged her father, Ibrahim Bassa, to court for refusing to accept her suitor because he is not a Fulani man.

Khadija on Monday sued her father before an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for not allowing her to marry a man of her choice.

The Osun State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, in furtherance of her testimony before the Olusegun Ayilara-led coroner, has revealed that the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke hesitated before he ate from the rice he was served at a funeral ceremony of the grandmother of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun West Senatorial District, Amobi Akintola.

Recall that Adeleke and the Deputy Governor were among the dignitaries, who attended the funeral at Kuta, Osun State, on April 22 before his death.

The Deputy Governor, while revealing why she sat close to the Senator at the funeral yesterday, said she waived her immunity to personally appear before the coroner because of the importance she attached to the probe.

However, Laoye-Tomori further told the coroner that Adeleke was served rice in an uncovered plate and the rice had no fish or meat and he was hesitant to eat.

She said, “A woman brought a plate of rice. There was fried rice, a mixture of ‘jollof’ and white rice. There was no protein in it, that is, there was neither meat nor fish and the food was not covered.

Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode, has said that the ban of Vehicle Inspection Officer (VIO) from Lagos road is permanent.

Governor Ambode who disclosed this Tuesday at the commissioning of Pedestrian bridges, layby and slip roads in Ojodu Berger axis also asked officers of the Federal Road Service Corps, (FRSC) to stay off all state roads.

Ambode’s statement overrides last week’s statement by Commissioner for Transportation, Prince Olanrewaju Elegushi, that the VIO ban was temporary and that they only went for training to improve their services in line with global best practices.

A Nigerian man has shared the encouraging story of a female vulcanizer who is making a name for herself after learning the job from her husband.

A woman has escaped death after her ex-lover battered her then forced her into the back of her own car boot. The woman was nearly baked alive in her own 60C car boot before she was rescued.
According Sun UK, the woman had been getting a lift to work with Khun Narong, 40, yesterday morning in Surat Thani province, southern Thailand. But the couple began arguing and Narong allegedly stabbed her in the neck before hauling her out of the passenger seat and dragging her to the boot.
The twisted ex is said to have slammed the hood shut, locked it and disappeared with the key.
Meanwhile she was left bleeding and suffocating in sweltering heat as temperatures outside reached 38C. But the temperature inside the boot is believed to have passed 60C and the woman was facing a horrible death.

A senior surgeon who accidentally removed a woman’s ovary instead of her appendix has been struck off after being branded a ‘danger’ to patients.
Dr Lawal Haruna, 59, botched up three operations over the course of two years including removing a woman’s ovary because he said the appendix and fallopian tubes were similar ‘worm-like structures’ in the same area.
The unnamed woman, known as Patient B, was treated by him when she was admitted for abdominal pain while he was working for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Trust in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
During the operation, one of her ovaries was removed leaving her appendix – which was causing her great pain – in situ. A tribunal heard how it was lucky she was not of child-bearing age as it could have affected her fertility.
