But why are they covering their face with nose cover?
One: Coronavirus scar Two: They said pollution, I never "see or hear or smell" pollution Three: They always try to protect their skin from sun and all that

When I got to the airport in Vietnam, I went to the section for visa on arrival and in less than 5 minutes, I got stamped in, no stress! Not even anything for the boys! Then I changed some dollars to local currency, got a SIM card and proceeded to the domestic section to board the final flight to the city I was going to.

Immediately I stepped out of the airport enroute the domestic section, I was wowed. The place made sense. I was beginning to wonder why ignorant people said otherwise.

Anyways, I got to the city of Hanoi at about 7pm. The can guy already had my a placard with my name waiting for me, the hotel was also expecting me, everything went smoothly!

I was connected almost all through the journey. Onboard Qatar, there's free WiFi for selected apps for one hour. If you need more, there are different packages ranging from$5 upwards.

At Doha airport, there was also WiFi to access and download anything you want., same as the airports in Vietnam.

The simcard came with unlimited data too and the apartment too has wifi

TravelRe: My Journey To Hanoi, Vietnam by WhyNa(op):
Back to the journey.....

After spending just 4 hours waiting, I was tired. I went to make enquiries about booking a hotel at least so I can sleep. They said they were fully booked. See bah, that airport is big and I mean big! I was kukuma tired of walking and not interested in checking back so I just choose one seat and used me hand luggage as pillow and slept.

One nice black guy woke me up some minutes later and directed me to the quiet area. Kai! They say it's never too late shey, so I got some sleep, woke up and went to get something to chew on.

For future purposes, if you're looking for such quiet areas, on the first floor, there's one towards the B wing, where you have lots of computers for use. See picture of the one I choose.

After the snacks, I did some exploring and found a food court. Was going to do shawarma o just to know the difference between the one in Naija and Doha, next thing I'm ordering for something else I couldn't finish

I won't lie, e pain me. I couldn't finish it and then we were served on the flight again which I couldn't finish.

After this, I boarded the second flight and we arrived Vietnam by 6am. Vietnam fine sha. Kai...

Oh okay thanks for the response the TEFL thing, how much did it cost to get it?

And as for that CELTA, does it mean one can get an English teaching job in Vietnam without having the CELTA certification?
You can get either of the two. Except you want both. The TEFL wass part of the package paid for

Mistaicey2288:
Congratulations bro. I wish you success. Please how much is the estimate for the whole Visa process. Also, how long did it take you to get the TEFL certificate and the Medical examination report, what tests were conducted on you.. Lastly, as you're in Vietnam now, you'll first go for the CELTA certification first before you you begin to work as a teacher right?
Took about a week. HIV 1 and 2, syphillis, chest x-ray, hepatitis

No I won't go for CELTA again cept I decide to

A little bit of insight.....

Here are some of the things I didn't know how to do....some I asked for help with from the flight attendant or my neighbor. Others I figured out myself.

To turn on or off your reading light, there is a button on the screen Infront of you that has a bulb display

You don't need to board with your earpiece. It won't work. Headphones are given and you plug it in into your arm rest

To recline your seat, there's a button on your arm rest too.

There are lots of movies and music and all to choose from. I watched three movies, and listened to music when I wanted to sleep.

If you're tall, try to use seat guru to check seats that best suit you

Sock, ear plugs, little toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. You are not to take the blanket with you.

After serving, I think you can ask for extra food. My neighbor did

I'll write more as I remember

NIGERIA NO BE AM

I don't care what anybody *ucking says.

By 4:30 am, we landed at Hamad international airport , Doha and I was wowed! Asides the beauty, everything was so organized and neat. None of our airports come even an inch close.

I had a 16 hour layover but wasn't given a room. Guess that is reserved for first class service or you pay some extra bucks.

Tried paying for a room but Orynx said they were fully booked. After I don waka tire reach there (The airport is biiig)

I just went to one of the rest rooms and brushed and cleaned up

All the meals made sense

I didn't give anyone a dime. The immigration officer who attended to me politely asked if I had anything for the boys. I was asked series of questions and my thumb print and picture taken. In all the process was a smooth and straightforward one and contrary to stories I had heard.

I proceeded to board and damn, Qatar wanted to kill me with food on the 8 hours flight

TravelRe: My Journey To Hanoi, Vietnam by WhyNa(op): 4:16am On Feb 21, 2020
That night, I packed my stuff. All food items were properly wrapped with nylon, brown paper and sealed with lots of cello tape.

My flight was supposed to be for 6ppm so I asked the Uber to pick me up by 2pm.Wrong move.

This particular day, traffic was hellish especially after Gokada and the likes had been banned in Lagos.

Driver got to my house by 3 cos of traffic. Was able to navigate through routes with less traffic only to get to that airport road that links Ajao or so and the road had been closed. Then we got a wrong direction and landed back at Oshodi on the other side. Time was already past 4, I almost died. Remember it was my first time flying so I was pretty scared of missing my flight. Plus all the stories I had heard about bribes and immigration. They are all lies or maybe I should say I didn't encounter anything like that.

Finally got to the airport and luckily, my luggages weighed just 40kg. I was given 45kg plus 7 kg hand luggage

I had to wait for about one hour though for them to confirm OK to board. Vietnam visa is on arrival except you choose to pick up at the embassy. By the time I was through with security and immigrations, I was running with just my socks on, shoes and laptop and belt in one hand and bag on the other. Thanks to Lagos traffic

Hey Guys, sorry for the break. It's good to see a lot of people showing interest and following. Thanks

To others, please note that the title of this thread is MY JOURNEY TO HANOI and not PLEASE ADVICE ME

Back to the journey.....

About 4 days before my trip, I was stressed. I never envisioned it to be that way cos I started on time to put my things together but there were still little things that needed attention.

I had to pack right, make sure I had the essentials, take care of personal things I was leaving behind and all. I even lost appetite and it wasn't due to excitement.

A day to my trip, I went to the bank to get my BTA, I was there when a job offer came in with accommodation and boy! I was happy.
