Prove to me that the Halliburton investigation started in Nigeria, or by any Nigerian leader.

It is only then that your argument is tenable. My point stands that PMB is simply re-opening the investigation after it was started by a French investigator.

1. The Halliburton issue originated in 1994 when M.W. Kellogg and three other companies formed a partnership known as TSKJ, incorporated in Medeira, Portugal. The partnership submitted a bid to Nigeria LNG to build a natural gas plant in Nigeria.

2.In October 2003, the Halliburton investigation was initiated by a French magistrate who was probing suspicious payments made by TSKJ after a former executive with one of TSKJ’s partners, Technip of France, said Mr. Tesler is “directly linked to corruption in Nigeria.”

3. In 2004, Nigeria’s parliament under OBJ voted unanimously to summon Halliburton CEO, David Lesar, to answer questions over its bribery investigation. It issues a report recommending that Halliburton and TSKJ be disqualified from bidding on future government projects. It denounces what it calls Halliburton’s “hide-and-seek games” to avoid questions from government investigators.

So essentially the investigation/probe neither started in Nigeria, nor was it instituted by any past Nigerian leader as you're insinuating. PMB is simply re-examining the probe, not initiating the probe, which was why asked the case papers to be 'dusted off'.

So whynotthetruth, I never succumbed to your weak argument, but declined from engaging you because of your tendency to retort reason with insults, or integrate same within any point you try to make.

This is a huge achievement out of just one trip.

It shows that there is Hope for the youths in this country because all I have been seeing recently is a party addict writing all sorts of gibberish to defend his or her party and destroy the opposition. But here, WE have an objective head irrespective of your party. I reverence your beingness.

Let new register my full agreement with all that was said in your writeup. But my GOOD man, a cursory look at Nigeria's political history will show that WE have never been blessed with leaders who shun ethnicity and regionalism. Even the best of them all, at one time, defiled the tenets of Federalism. If I may stand in defence of Mr. President, I think WE should be more concerned about what he DOES than what he SAYS. Granted that his words and gestures might have fuelled optimism in the camp of secessionists but I assure you, Buhari is what is best for NIGERIA now (out of the possible options). His words WERE reckless for a leader and his aides should put it to his notice but that doesn't undermine his capabilities in delivering his promises. Many a politician have made far reckless statements yet they went on to modify it with their actions, Let us Hope Mr. President will do same.
