luvluvluv: But seriously op, do u rili want pmb to stay on prosecuting every corrupt act? He's already called "papa go slow" frm the few cases he has filed.
I think we should allow this man some space 2 do dat Wch he wishes and forge ahead with other salient matter. Investigation completed... case file ready...money already recovered... All buhari needs is to arrest them and take them to court for trial and conviction...and over $140million will drop into our treasury...What did he go to America to do if he wasn't interested in fighting corruption and recovering funds |

But the begining of your lenghty post simply says he ordered for the files as he was preparing to head for the U.S that simply means he did that just to create an impression of working on that case,i'll bet my last coin that it's either he wouldn't touch that case at all or he would doctor it to absolve some people who are his mark my words... After spending our 2.2billion to America with all the noise about looted funds recovery...they saw looted funds of over a whooping sum of $140million waiting to be repatriated once he prosecutes those officials...he rather turned back and started screaming Jonathan and his ministers like a mad dog |

Buhari will limit probe to Jonathan’s govt —Presidency
JULY 24, 2015 : AGENCY REPORT 210 Comments
https://punch.cdn.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Jonathan-Buhari-360x225.jpg Jonathan, Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari will not extend his corruption probe beyond the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, the Presidency has said.
According to a report by Premium Times, Buhari, who just returned from a four-day official visit to the United States, has consistently vowed to investigate and bring to book, persons who looted the country’s funds.
The President said on Tuesday in the US that he would arrest and prosecute past ministers and other officials who stole Nigeria’s oil and diverted government’s money into personal accounts.
But the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Femi Adesina, said the President will limit his anti-corruption war to the immediate past administration in the country.
He said Buhari will not waste time in probing the administrations of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalam Abubakar, Sani Abacha and Ibrahim Babangida.
He said even before he was inaugurated on May 29, the President had categorically stated that he would not extend his corruption probe beyond the Jonathan government.
“If you recall, that was already settled before he got inaugurated as President. He has said he will not waste time digging into the far past,” Adesina said.
“The far past will include Obasanjo and others. But the President has said he will not waste time to go that far.”
Before leaving office, Jonathan had said any probe by the new government would be seen as a “witch-hunt” if it fails to go beyond his administration.
Speaking on criticisms over President Buhari’s decision to travel to the US. with his son, Yusuf, the presidential spokesperson said the President did not breach any rule.
He said it was a normal practice for presidents to travel with members of their families, citing the example of American presidents who travelled abroad with their wives and children.
“There is absolutely nothing wrong with the President travelling with one of his sons. It is an acceptable and standard practice. He could go with up to four members of his family.
“Don’t forget that when former President Bill Clinton visited Nigeria while he was in office, he came with his daughter, Chelsea.
“President Barak Obama travels with his children and so the President of Nigeria can travel out with three or four of his children. The late President Umaru Yar’Adua used to travel with two of his sons and one of his grandchildren,” he said.
Adesina described the outcome of the President’s official visit to the US as “a roaring success on every side.”
“There are good returns. It is an investment that will yield very handsome returns,” he said.

Freemanan: Exactly the bias and sentiment I fear for. Why do you think the aforementioned groups would disprove this? Your type is now the trending species in NIGERIAN politics and it hurts me as a youth to notice such without the power to do anything about it. You make PDP and the previous President along with all his colleagues look weak and paranoid with your self deluded posts and statements on social media. Do take note that I am in no way addressing your article in the light of siding anyone but JUST to put you in the know of HOW your influence might make more damage than you even intend. You all think you are making Great tidings in political analysis and party loyalty cum "Nationalism" which the reverse is the case. You pretend to be political pundits and social crusaders by exhibiting hates and sentiment masked with logic and pasting links up and down. Issapitty Mate... Don't see this as an attack on your person bro, see it as a check on your political positions and social relations especially on social media. I am forced to ask if Nigeria's growth is part of your social crusade or you JUST want the APC GOVERNMENT to fail irrespective of the consequence. So my GOOD man, divert all your astute and intelligent Brain into a more proNigeria course and not antiAPC course which have no room for human or societal growth. I Hope you will see this as a talk from a Mate to a Mate. And your paranoid self won't make you see me as one of your APC opponents... Thanks and Sleep well. Boy...mind yourself...take your hypocrisy out of here...Your mate is my little ones who finished service same time with you...Be warned... |

fulanimafia: $182m Halliburton Scandal: Buhari orders preparation of case-file
As President Muhammadu Buhari travels to the United States (US) today to engage President Barack Obama in talks on economic, security, financial and anti-graft issues, it has emerged that he has ordered the preparation of the case-file that would lead to the prosecution of the indicted persons in the $182 million Halliburton bribery scandal.
Sunday Vanguard gathered that the President’s directive followed the requirement by the US government of evidence to show that Buhari was ready to prosecute the suspects in Nigeria for their roles in the bribery scandal before it could partner other European countries in releasing the $141million dollars allegedly looted from Nigeria and lodged in various overseas banks.
According to top security sources, Buhari, based on the outcome of investigations by the panel set up to look into the scandal, is scheduled to tell Americans officials during this week’s visit that all those indicted, including former Heads of State, a former Vice President, two former Group Managing Directors of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, will face prosecution to defend themselves.
To further convince the US officials that the kangaroo trial that took place during the Jonathan administration, which saw a former Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs to the President being arraigned and then let off the hook following alleged connivance of certain government institutions, will not re-occur, the President will tell them that private legal practitioners, who cannot compromise because of past government patronage, will be commissioned to handle the case.
It will be recalled that the recent directive by Buhari to reopen the Halliburton bribery case led to the discovery that the $26.5 million plea bargain money released by the oil servicing firm as part of efforts to shield the company from prosecution was not in any government account.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/182m-halliburton-scandal-buhari-orders-preparation-of-case-file/ What's your point here?...because even the details of this link are contained in the original post here?...Buhari is president now not Jonathan... Buhari promised WS captured above to fight corruption...Buhari spent our 2.2billion to America for this same purpose of fund recovery...Now, funds are there for him to take...and someone is blabbing... |

barcanista: God Bless You @ Whynotthetruth
The reason Buhari is backtracking his probe on these men may not be unconnected to the fact that he benefitted directly or indirectly from the Haliburton deal through Sani Abacha, his former boss and benefactor. It could also be that he had an agreement with the cabals for them to use these stolen funds to navigate him to power. Also recall that Buhari had given Abacha a Certificate of Sainthood. No small sainthood... I wonder his opinion when he receives the one Jonathan concluded its repatriation before his administration ended...maybe he will say that Abacha in his magnanimity dashed us that one |

Davvymavvy: The problem of Nigeria is hydra headed and the simple solution is what we are not ready for. Hypocrisy has taken another dimension in our engagements, we see nothing wrong in an open rape of public institutions as long as the perpetrator is our brother. While your points are valid and genuine as in the case of Halliburton where a whooping $140million could be added to the covers of nation if those involved are prosecuted, [s]I have noticed your hypocritical stance on issues of national importance.[/s] On the cancelled, Kindly point them out to me later, outside the thread...Isn't it clear that buhari is the hypocrite and liar here |
