Also, no other petitioner claimed that votes were not collated or that votes were excluded in the process of collation at the various wards in Imo State except Senator Hope Uzodinma and the All Progressive Congress (APC) even though they took the fourth position in the election.
At the trial, no ward collation agent was called to show that at the collation centre, results were brought from the 388 polling units where the alleged exclusion took place and INEC refused to accept or collate them.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday said it will not join issues with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, National chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the Supreme Court judgment on Bayelsa governorship election.

It gave the ruling after it had found irregularities in the credentials of the ex-APC deputy governor-elect in Bayelsa State, Degi-Eremienyo, and annulled the joint ticket of both Lyon and Degi-Eremienyo.

However, in a press conference on Friday afternoon, Oshiomhole rejected the result and accused INEC of creating crisis in the system by issuing certificate of return to Diri.

Oshiomhole added that INEC wrongly interpreted the Supreme Court judgment, thereby creating illegality in the electoral process.
“INEC has assumed the position of the court by interpreting the judgment the way it has done, which it has no power to do so” he said.

However, speaking in a chat with Daily Independent, Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC chairman said the electoral body only complied with the ruling of the Supreme Court just as it did with the judgment on Imo governorship election.

Ekiti State House of Assembly, on Friday, passed the bill for the establishment of Ekiti State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps into law.

The Speaker, Funminiyi Afuye, said, “Having passed through the third reading, the bill has become a law.”

Afuye, who lauded the lawmakers for their “leadership and commitment to the bill,” said the Assembly did not short-circuit any process that was required in law-making, The PUNCH reports.

The Speaker said the bill would be transmitted to the state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, for his assent.

The law passed through the first and second readings in the Assembly on Thursday and committed to the House Committee on Security for proper legislative scrutiny before the House adjourned sitting till Friday.

The indigenes Adamma of Abi local government area of Cross River have appealed to their neighbour in Ndiagu-Amagu in Ikwo local government area in Ebonyi state to reopen roads linking them as well as the markets for easy movement and business transaction. South East Trust gathered that the roads and the popular Nwangagbo market were closed since 2016 when crisis erupted between the communities.

The President of the Adamma Youth Association, Mr. Sunday Eni made this appeal during a joint sensitization campaign on the need for peaceful co-existence between members of the two communities. The meeting was held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ochiayim Amagu in Ikwo local government of Ebonyi state under the auspices of Cross River-Ebonyi Youth Development Movement.

Mr. Eni explained that both communities have lost businesses worth billions of naira especially in agriculture.

The Lagos State Government has dismissed the rumoured suspicion of cases of the Coronavirus Disease in Gowon Estate in the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, dismissed the rumour making the rounds on social media that Chinese people, who recently returned from Wuhan, China and residing in Osoba Close of Gowon Estate, were having severe symptoms of Coronavirus disease and treating the symptoms themselves.

The commissioner in a statement on Wednesday noted that there is no truth in the report emanating from Gowon Estate.

An early morning fire on Tuesday razed part of Atakumosa Central Market, Adeti, Ilesha and destroyed goods worth millions of naira.

The inferno which started around 1 am affected several shops located at the entrance of the market but was later subdued through the combined efforts of the police and firemen.

Administrative Officer of Osun State Fire Service, Fatai Aremu, told our correspondent that despite early response to the distress call, barriers at the entrance of the affected shops did not allow the firemen access.

Aremu said the damage caused by the fire incident was severe, as he claimed that the cause of the incident had not been ascertained.

DETAILS of operational modalities for the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Operation Amotekun emerged at the weekend, as it was revealed that operatives of Amotekun will be known as corps and will bear licensed firearms while working.

Ekiti State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda, made the revelation while speaking on the outcome of a meeting of the Attorney Generals from the South-West zone held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday.

Fapohunda said each of the Commissioners for Justice in the zone agreed at the meeting in Ibadan to insert a clause which empowers the Amotekun Corps to carry only licensed firearms in the bill for an act backing up the initiative.

On getting there with various Iron rods & Machetes it was discovered that the Female python had already laid 48 eggs inside the warehouse!!..

Trust Lagosians to do the needful as the python snake was sent to her ultimately Death as her flesh meat with her 48 eggs were shared & divided Amongst the Stomach Infrastructure department present at the scene of event!

We learnt that there's also a Male Python within that Vincinty that might be lurking somewhere searching for its partner, the female python that was killed yesterday becos inside that Warehouse where the eggs were laid happens to be their Love abode! So we implore people plying their trades around that axis to shine their eyes very well as the Male Python is a very dangerous species!
