ogbiwa1:
Real Madrid sustained a shock defeat at Real Betis to hand the initiative to Barcelona in the La Liga title race. Barca had beaten Real Sociedad 1-0 on Saturday to go two points clear and Zinedine Zidane's side were unable to respond with a victory of their own.

Ex-Barcelona forward Cristian Tello was Betis' match winner, stroking in on 82 minutes.
The Betis substitute broke clear and coolly slide the ball past goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as the hosts picked up only their eighth victory of the season to move up to 12th, eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Veteran winger Joaquin went round Courtois and looked to be slipping the ball into an empty net but was denied by Luka Modric's goal-saving interception on the line.

RM has been very inconsistent.

Islie1:
The federal government has agreed to pay $200 million to Sunrise Power and Transmission Company Limited (SPTCL) as final settlement of the dispute over the Mambilla power project in Taraba state, TheCable can report.
Sources told TheCable that Sunrise Power had previously asked for an $80 million settlement in order to withdraw its arbitration claim against Nigeria in France over an alleged breach of contract.

But Babatunde Fashola, who was minister of power, had contended that there was no breach of contract as Sunrise had not done any work to warrant any demand or arbitration. Fashola also questioned the integrity of the contract.
The government also agreed to pay a penalty of 10 per cent in case of a default in fulfilling the settlement agreement — in addition to restoring Sunrise as the local content partner for the $5.8 billion hydro electric project.
The new settlement deal was put together by Sale Mamman, minster of power, and Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation.

the new hustle in town is to pay government officials to sign dubious contract terms that future govt wont like, then make bank suing new govt for breach of said contract. so sleek

This thread is for those who is/are sharing same flat/compound with landlord/landlady.

I just wish to share my little experience, and it all happened back then, 2013 when I firstly moved to Abuja.
An agent connected me to this Landlady, a single mother in her 60s. She was weird and she is an "I am always right" type. All the tenants opinions doesn't matter to her.

She tried to conquer every body in that flat. I just kept avoiding her so as not to get myself into disrespecting her.
What pained me most, is she totally stopped answering my greetings 2 months to rent expiration. I noticed She is preparing to change it for, should in case I bring any excuse for not renewing my rent.

I jejely pack my stuffs and relocated to another environment one month to expiration, and promised not to ever live in a house where landlord and landladies are also living inside.
Share your experience living in the same compound/flat with a landlady so far.

ifeanyihamilton1:
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday declared he would hold on to his position despite the court order that upheld his suspension from the party.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Jabi District, had yesterday upheld the suspension of Oshiomhole, pending the determination of a substantive suit before it.
The judge, Danlami Senchi, gave the order following an application of interlocutory injunction seeking an order of the court to suspend Oshiomhole, having been suspended as a member of the APC from his Etsako ward 10 in Edo State.

In the application filed on January 16, 2020 by Oluwole Afolabi, as an applicant, and Oshiomhole as the first respondent, while the APC is the second respondent, the applicant contended that Oshiomhole is currently suspended by the party and has not challenged the suspension.
The counsel to Oshiomhole and APC is Mr. Damian Dodo (SAN).

Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, governor of Kebbi state and former senator, has been in the news lately over plans by the US to help Nigeria repatriate $308 million from the British Island of Jersey.

The funds are part of the billions of dollars traced to Sani Abacha, the late military dictator who ruled Nigeria from November 1993 till his sudden death in June 1998, and his associates.
Nigeria has repatriated various sums since 1998 when the recovery efforts began under Abdulsalami Abubakar, who succeeded Abacha in office.

dre111:
Indications have emerged that the Federal Government may restrict all foreign airlines to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja. The move, which followed the advice on how to contain the spread of Coronavirus, is aimed at enhancing full scale medical and security screening of travellers, especially those coming from Europe.

The implication is that the Port Harcourt, Kano and Kaduna international airports would be temporarily closed to foreign carriers until the Covid-19 scourge subsided. Industry sources yesterday said Nigeria was not left out in the control measures as both the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were considering the restriction options and would advise the government accordingly.
