BusinessThe Freelance Market In The World by Wiley19(op): 6:09am On Aug 03, 2024
The Freelance Market

As I said before the freelance market is currently huge and it is predicted to increase more soon. According to World Bank data, there are currently 1.57 billion freelancers, which is almost 47% of the global workforce, in fact the number of freelancers in the US has increased from 70.4 million in 2022 to 73.3 million in 2023

The global freelance market is estimated at $4.43 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach 12.01 billion by 2028. On average freelancers charge $28 an hour and according to Payoneer, the fields of Project management, multimedia production, sales, programming, marketing, and finance, pay above the average hourly freelance rate

The average salary of freelancers in the US is $68,947 annually or $33 hourly, which is reasonably much. There is a massive opportunity for African freelancers as the African freelance market has started to grow, an article from Wikipedia mentions that most of the freelance work is being outsourced to developing countries outside of the United States and Europe, the opportunity cannot be overemphasized as this much income is not easy to come by in African

Freelance marketplaces provide a platform for freelancers and buyers. The service provider or freelancers create a profile where they include a description of the services they offer, examples of their work, and or portfolio, and maybe information about their rates

Buyers can easily browse through the marketplace for specific services and offer jobs to freelancers after going through their profiles

Freelancer market has been growing for the past 2 decades and is still projected to grow more.

So tell me, why shouldn't you become a freelancer?

BusinessRe: 2M Business Idea by Wiley19: 8:17am On Jun 19, 2024

Dear Business experts in the house.

I need a lucrative business idea that #2M can run.

I know that 2M is small to japa legitimately to Europe.

Experts advice only with a hand on experience.
You can start a Boutique, you can start selling stuff you know a little About like quality hairs, clothes, shoes, accessories but please don't go for selling provisions like every other person.

I would say for whatever business you start you have to be very creative for you to stand out because so many people would have been doing the business already

I have had personal business experiences in boutique and sales of accessories, I have been around people doing business everyday for the past 14 years

Be creative in the execution of your business. Good luck.

BusinessRe: How I Got A Content Writing Job With A European Company That Changed My Life by Wiley19: 7:45am On Jun 08, 2024
ladywriter:
I've always had the dream to work as a remote content writer (not freelance) with a company. I know two top content writers in Nigeria who have achieved this lofty goal. So I kept pushing to get there. Little did I know that I was already on the path that will lead me there. Below was how it happened:

I assume you know me already. I am Ladywriter. I created this thread "https://www.nairaland.com/4479900/how-make-decent-income-writing
", and "https://www.nairaland.com/1833989/how-make-1000-month-writing".

I stopped working on Freelancer.com to start my writing biz few years ago. It was tough, but I kept going. Two years ago, I sourced clients from LinkedIn. I got about 3 clients all from Europe. I worked with these companies for some time. The least period being six months and the longest - for about 2 years. While working with them, I tried as much as possible to satisfy the clients, but one of them was difficult to please. I eventually lost two of the clients. I kept faith with the remaining one. During this period, I brushed up my seo skill, took paid writing courses worth over $300 with Jon Morrow, bought copywriting books, read virtually all of Neil Patel’s content and followed Brian Dean bumper to bumper. I also bought grammar editing tools. I just kept on learning and improving myself.

Within a year, I became a pro at writing excellent business articles that ranked high on search engines. The articles I wrote for the company began to rank high in Google for our targeted keywords and the company sales soar. The company gives incentives from time to time. For example, they give Amazon Gift cards during Christmas.

Not too long ago, the company wanted to expand its staff strength. I got a call from the CEO asking me if I would like to work for the company full time. I was highly elated! I don’t think I need to tell you my answer (lol). Dreams come true after all. My basic salary for a start is four figures in dollars which translates to six figures in naira. I couldn’t believe my eyes. To cap it all, there are many benefits attached to the job. I will have the opportunity to travel annually to participate in the company’s camp meeting. There are other side benefits apart from my salary.

People, it is good to be hardworking. I can’t begin to tell you the number of hours I spend on my laptop daily including weekends or how much I pay for data monthly. It took me about 3-4 years to get to this point with a lot of learning curves. But it eventually paid off. And this is just the beginning for me.

The truth is, there is no shortcut to success online. There is a process to follow to achieve your dreams. There is no height too high to climb if you are ready to pay the price.

I am writing this piece to encourage someone out there on the path to achieving his or her dreams or someone with a similar dream as mine.

If you are a writer and you want to achieve a similar feat, follow the steps below:

1. Learn how to write business articles
2. Learn how to do SEO
3. Learn how to source clients from LinkedIn
4. Take free and paid writing courses
5. Follow the experts

May God reward your efforts!

Blessings!
Awesome, I passed same phase too in my life but not really writing, more of technology. keep pushing forward.

in 3 days US will do to Russia what Isreal did to Hamas.Putin want to waste the life of his people
You cannot be serious. Russia has an advantage of land mass, US did same thing some few years back in the cold war now they are rebuking Russia for same act, plus the war currently has been Russia vs all other major power. I am not supporting any of them just stating facts.
Russia has a impressive arsenal both nuclear and non nuclear.

BusinessHow I Started To Work Online, It Has Changed My Life For Good by Wiley19(op): 5:42am On Sep 21, 2023
Before I share my story let me say that it changed my life positively, I believe I'm on a better chance of becoming successful today and more intentional in whatever I do.

I was originally not a business kind of person all through my life until about a year ago, I was 22, I believed I have a bright future ahead of me and so I was reading, learning and researching a lot, I really wanted to have a career in tech. I needed tech skills like software development, cloud engineering, NLP (chatbot/virtual assistant development), but my biggest issues was that I wasn't practicing enough, in fact almost not at all. Well, in tech you don't get paid for the knowledge, you get paid for the skills, I had that in my mind but I couldn't practice because I needed some money to start practicing. Here are things that I was doing wrong;
I was code with my phone because I didn't have a computer and I couldn't buy one for myself.

I read about cloud development, how to architect cloud resources and deploy applications in the cloud but I couldn't get started because I didn't have the money to register.

I was took free courses online and reading contents online because I couldn't pay for online classes. Let's be truthful, paid online courses are more effective than free online courses.

I was read a lot of books but most recent updated books are not free, I saw lots of eBooks I couldn't get because I have to pay.

In fact, I had more issues.

All these changed in Semptember 2021, when I made the decision to get a side hustle, make passive income, earn few bucks at my spare time so I can take of these needs and also support myself in college, I was in college at that time. What really motivated me was when I read an article about making money online doing small tasks on Amazon Mechanical Turk. Unfortunately for me, Amazon Mechanical Turk wasn't accepting workers from my region, Nigeria, so I started searching online for similar websites to make money because at this point, I wanted the money so badly. I wanted to make some money at my spare time so that I can continue to learn all the skills I needed, to have a successful career in tech (software development and cloud engineering). When I searched online, the quickest ways I found was to start making money from survey websites and micro task websites, for those I don't need to invest any money nor put in much time in advance, I could just start immediately but the best paying website were not available for Nigerians and some other part of Africa, so I spent more than two months earning pennies or nothing from the websites I registered for. Eventually it became better when I knew the websites that were legit and available for me to earn, I didn't have to go online all day searching for "legit survey/GPT websites paying Nigerians", I knew the ones that was doing well for me based on my region, I simply had to go for the best offers, surveys, tasks, etc.

In no much time, I was making more than $100 every month, sometimes more than $200. Yeah, not much, I know but I wasn't spending all my time working online, I was also keeping myself up to date with tech. Within this period I was able to buy a laptop, pay for some college fees, subscribe for internet, pay for online courses, registered for the AWS, GCP, and DigitalOcean, and currently building on these platforms. I have gotten various certifications from notable websites.

In fact, I am currently hosting various websites; one of which is my website which I linked below, where I write articles to help other people who wants to make money online doing various jobs, for specific regions were it might be hard to earn money online, I try to tell them what websites might work better for them. I can say rightnow that I am much more happy with my life and looking forward to the future. 😊
