Adbash: I apologize for my spontaneous outburst here if that didn't go down well with you Mr. Adbash. Just that i felt there was need to put records straight on the fact that as a legitimate scholar in SK, one could secure very good-paying, easy and non-strenuous PT jobs here as well other than logistics(Tekpe) jobs, and also the fact that those of us over-here not wanting to disclose such personal or often invasive day-to-day life activities here on this platform doesn't imply they are vague or "over-hyped" when we mention them here. I could've chosen to act ignorant or play the silent game to that comment, but you and i know that "silence or in-action implies acceptance to guilt." I once read a good-old thread from Acadollar here, on the fact that one could earn hugely(cant remember the figure he quoted back then) on factory jobs here even as students, and some folks here didn't take him seriously. They had to continually cross-examine/scrutinize the poor fella's comments. Some even went so rude, judgemental, and negative about those comments. It's always a Nigerian thing(to not finding people's great/selfless comments, credible enough even when the person has got nothing to gain or loose by making such comments. They always wanna be doubly and triple-Ly sure about such obvious truthful statements and might even knowingly or unknowingly embarrass your person in trying to verify the truthfulness of such comments), and that mindset has to change a bit! Like i did say from the start, my outburst was spontaneous and is highly regretted. They sure wont take away the fact that we shall forever remain brothers(same heritage) and good friends too. Cheers. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Adbash: Hello Mr. Adbash, Am just wondering if your cautious, but slighting comment of getting realities over-hyped was directed at my person or just an open comment. First off, i have no dog in this fight, hence, any aspiring Nigerian should prepare for the very worst when he/she is here in Korea(i have always said those or painted that picture on this platform). I have nothing to gain or loose at not painting the actual realities here. You just cannot expect me to give a detailed account of my daily life activities here as they unfold Sir, because no one pays me for such info, and just the same way i would not have expected other greats here like Acadollar, KCLuv Et al to do the same for me. Secondly, You are evidently still fresh or a Newbie in Korea and haven't "tested enough waters" yet, since your arrival(I can bet, owing to our last email conversation of your PT job need and request). But the fact that you have not done or experienced much since your arrival here does not discredit the fact that other people's personal picture of Korea on this platform are often vague and "over-hyped". Furthermore, All comments/statements of mine on this platform have been corroborated with life lessons, personal experiences and even with those corroborated by my very close friends here, Korean job associates/agents that i currently refer people to work with here and even with the Zambian guy (Mr. Cosmos, in Deagu), that you have mentioned. Whatever comment you have made here have already been painstakingly exhausted by myself here on pages. 104 (5 Legal and Basic Job types for foreigners....) and 113 (becoming a permanent citizen) and replies to Mr. Sexes2005 on page 124, just to mention a few. I challenge you to point-out how and where i have failed to give accurate descriptions of things and stuffs here in Korea! I do not have to be economical with the truth and have never countered anyone's personal picture of his/her realities here in korea on this platform (if you have closely observed my inputs here), and so does other greats here such as Acadollar, KCLuv et al. They never did, they just bare their minds on perennial issues or questions thrown at them and move-on! That is why i encourage people to go back and read through the threads to get meaningful answers to their often repetitive questions!!! On a personal note, I have worked in so many job disciplines, which cuts across virtually all the industries since my arrival here in Korea. I have taught English Language and got paid(and i still do till now, and so does my few friends even on this platform), i have worked in mobile/smart phone factory complexes, Automobile coys, Logistics (Tekbe) coy, i have outsourced my IT/Programming skill-set to coys, outsourced my research and technical skills to research scholars like myself and a whole bunch of other stuffs....all on the side(PT-based)! I am strong-Willed person(The meaning of Williams), and graciously gifted by God - who strengthens me, because i am still able to combine those with my daily 10am to 9pm Laboratory research/Projects Job. I know my onion Bro and i am sure you have seen a bit of my profile in the CV and other documents i did send to you to assist you to get here to SK without much hitch as few months back. Finally, I find your comments about "over-hyping the realities on this platform" as very careless, a bit treacherous and a slap on the faces of people who have been here long before you arrived Korea and who have assisted you to get here in Korea, through this platform or through other means. I strongly advise that you always try to proof-read your comments about peoples opinion on here, or that you just make your thoughts/opinions known to the platform (as we all do here), and move-on. (You may call my attention if my meanings to your comments were a bit assuming or wrongly analyzed). I hope that helps. Cheers 4 Likes |

suxes2005: MY TAKE 1). First have a clearer picture or be more specific on how you intend to come over here, rather than going for the "easiest" visa process. I rather would suggest you go for a long-termed RENEWABLE visa status. It could be visit, academics or any other. 2). Sounds great to know you are an Entrepreneur and could remotely work here too. Try to concentrate on that existing platform when you are finally here(for the time-being), until you are able to get-around with the system well enough on ways you can partner with a Korean or Permanent Non-Korean resident here, in order to establish your own Coy Sir. 3). If you do not intend working here at all, please ensure you have sufficient financial backbone prior to arrival, as the cost of living here is relatively high and could leave you dry in no short time, if you are not prepared. I hope that helps. Cheers. 3 Likes |

suxes2005: Hello Sexes2005, Thanks again!!! Well, not all factory jobs here are back-breaking or strenuous! Some are as easy as what multi-national coys like Cadbury Nig, Nestle Nig Plc, Oil/Gas, Manufacturing, etc, engage Nigerian First-class degree Graduates with, back home(I could personally attest to that). However, other jobs you could get around with here while studying are either as an English teacher(if you are lucky enough) or as a Software/IT-based skilled contractor/programmer/freelance to coys. A few others are as interns/executives to real/formal coys (Strong Knowledge of Korean Language is required here) Once you are done with your studies, you will get a chance to vie for real and formal company jobs, just like an average Korean here. High-points: 1. Jobs are quite easy to secure here but with good grades and strong Knowledge of Korean Language upon graduation. 2. Pay package is considerably high and even higher than other developed countries. Minimum. $2000 USD/Month. 3. Ability to relocate to other developed and 1st classed countries (just like S. Korea), is at the tip of your fingers. I hope that helps. Cheers. 3 Likes |

Mavin1: Hello Mavin1, Visa Application charges(directly from the SK Embassies in Nigeria) are obviously less than 15% of the amount you have quoted. However, VISA agents or agencies may have quoted that figure based entirely on the services they would be providing or rendering to you. Take a look at the existing visa application price-list found on the SK website and on here too: http://www.vfsglobal.com/Korea/Nigeria/Businees_Visa.html Is it worth it? Yes, paying that much to come here is worth it if only they can guarantee you a genuine visa in the end. I hope that helps. Cheers 2 Likes |

Juzzywezzy: There are three(3)-ways i could work around this issue if in your shoes, but (1) and (2) would strongly require your uncle's effort. 1. Get a sworn affidavit from your uncle indicating that he is the owner of the bank account information and too indisposed to get a copy of the-same account details around Abuja as a result of work location, inconvenient travel plans, health condition or whatever(half-truths are allowed). Have that attached to the account document you have and...se gbo be(safe landing/journey)! 2. Depending on how influential or accessible he(your uncle) is to his bank account officer(s), just a call through from your uncle would have the bank account officer radio Abuja branch immediately to issue you another copy from their end on his behalf. 3. Issue a sworn affidavit informing the embassy that your uncle is too indisposed and presently confined to another location or whatever(half-truths are allowed). Have that attached to the account document you have and...se gbo be(safe landing/journey)! NB: On a lighter note, your greetings should appear in this way Sir, "....The masters Accadollar and everyone". I nor fit be master o I hope that helps. Cheers 4 Likes |

Everest1989: I guess some members of this house are really getting this legalization and authentication of degree certificates mixed-up! Here is a lil helpful information. 1. Legalization and authentication of degree certificates can only by done by the foreign affairs/MOE of the issuing country. For instance, If mine were from Universities/institutions in Nigeria, then only the Nigerian foreign affairs ministry/MOE could have them verified and authenticated. 2. However, any document could be notarized/attested by a notary public, irrespective of the issuing country. To answer your questions, No Sir! You do not have to re-authenticate any document again. All you need do is to make clear copies of the already authenticated documents and have them notarized/attested by the public notary officer(commonly found around the Nigerian court premises), prior to your visa applications at the SK embassy. Try not to complicate issues for yourself and the SK embassy. I hope this helps. cheers 1 Like 1 Share |

smartsolus: Hello smartsolus, It's almost impossible to apply for an academic visa using a valid conference/business visa in Korea b'cos they are clearly not in the same category of Visa status here in Korea. You may most-likely be asked to return home and seek a fresh Acada visa. However, you could work-out your ways around the system when you are here, by having it extended based-on G-visa status(possibly), then gather enough cash here and possibly return home to re-apply for acada visa(if that is truly what you want). It all boards down to your arrival here first! I suggest you have your documents very-ready(as if you are about to seek admission), whenever you are coming over here, so you can throw-in your applications to institutions immediately while still having a valid conference visa. It pays to have a valid visa in a foreign country, Please do not be caught off-guard and do not be tempted to overstay your visa in Korea! Fore-warned is Fore-armed! I hope this helps. Dear Visa-successful Friends, I strongly encourage you all to drop-in a more detailed note on the journey to your success story! Let the house know how your experiences at the embassy and with the embassy officials (V.O) went. Also try itemizing the documentations/requirements/fees/all what-nots, prior to visa applications. This is to enable the prospective ones out there, to keep a track and have an up-to-date information on the going-around at the embassy(ies) or VFS office(as the case may be). These information would also keep the thread active and well-oiled until the next batch of success-stories. Finally, I plead that you do not hesitate in passing-on the good deeds you have got from members of this forum(myself inclusive), irrespective of the person seeking for such help. You are now clearly experienced(successful) at South Korea admission and visa-related matters as well and should never hoard these knowledge from others. Goodluck and Korea welcomes you on-board! 3 Likes |

saintandsinnerz: We(KIT's IO and myself) did visit the immigration office last week to get a clearer picture and have just got a confirmation from the immigration office hot-line about visa extension related-issues. For D-2 Visa extension 1. If you stay in Seoul or Gyeonggi-do area, you have to submit certificate of financial ability which proves that you have $20,000 USD at least. 2. If you stay in Non-Seoul or Non-Gyeonggi-do area, you have to submit certificate of financial ability which proves that you have $18,000 USD at least. 3. If you are enrolled in the university which is selected as IEQAS (International Education Quality Assurance System), then the certificate of financial ability can be exempted when extending Visa, but the immigration officer will ask you to submit certificate of financial ability (USD 9,000 at least) if your CGPA is below C grade. KIT is selected as one of the IEQAS recipients, hence foreign students are exempted, but be informed that there is always exception, so immigration officer might ask you to submit additional certificate even if you are a bonafide student of KIT. NB: The source and bank information is silent and when we further inquired, we were told they would accept any account details (either from Country of Origin or from SK), provided it has a legitimate cash in it. So i suppose all Mr. Acadollar has spoken kinda tally-up to our own investigations from KIT except for very few ones here and there. I hope this helps guys! Cheers. 5 Likes 1 Share |
