Please can one get a full scholarship package at KIT? And what is the commonest scholarship grant?
YES U CAN, but ur:
*Previous intimidating or very strong Academic records,
*Massive IELTS/TOEFL score,
*Abilities,
*PRAYERS
*And convincing prowess(to the Prof.) would do the magic for u.

(Commonest scholarship here is 30% off ur tuition...if u aint too convincing)

No short-cuts to success bro...No free money anywhr.
Cheers

Thanks will10 for your response. I'm going to try my best to score very high in my ielt exams next year. Does Master's degree students go on holiday each semester or lectures is on for the full 6months in each semester in kit? your reply is highly Appreciated. thanks
That largely depends on the Department you have gained admission into and the personality of the Prof. u are working with.

University rules/calender allows that you have 1.5 months X 2 (total 3months or more) in one Academic calender year. However, ur Prof may decide otherwise.

Wish u best at scoring high in ur English Test. hehe
Cheers.

Hello house is anyone applying for kit next year, please I need help with some questions, I mailed the school but it didn't go through. I'm going for Master's next year and I studied electrical engineering in my bachelor's degree with 2.65 on a 5.0 scale, I still want to take ielt exam next year before applying, what is my chances of getting a 30 or 50 percent scholarship, I intend applying for applied physics in my Master's program. please anyone in kit or knows much about kit. your response is highly appreciated.i don't know if they consider age, but I will be 27 by next year. what are my chances of admission and scholarship.
Your chances are quite slim cos KIT is a lil competitive when it comes to PG/PhD Applications.
However, wt a very strong IELTS/TOEFL score and a Prof. Willing to accept u into his Lab/department...you are sure good to go.

Cheers.

I want to apply for chemical engineering, who know the application deadline for KIT? or any other school i can still apply to this December. Because it seems like like schools have closed their application for spring semester.
Applications into KIT for UG/PG/PhD is closed for the Spring Semester(FEB/MARCH).
However, KIT still accepts applications for the Language program until 20th January 2017.

Cheers.

I got the same mail too do u know the exact amount for ielts and TOEFL? hope you have the contact of your faculty professor? because you there recommendation before KIT can grant you admission.... get the professor recommendation first before registering for English test
Bro, i guess u apparently have it all figured-out and seem to just know much more.
How on earth would u advice someone to first get Prof's approval before sitting for an English test, huh?

You must clearly understand dt prof's approval in most cases are hinged on ur excellent English test scores. How den would u now advice peeps not to take exams prior to prof's approval?

I am a PhD student in d IT Convergence dept(same building as software engineering n other depts) at KIT and would be willing to help u all only if u have all necessary docs. English test score inclusive.
Cheers.

Pls I reside in Philippines, but I intend to travel sk end of thiz year via tourist visa, how possible is it to convert tourist to student visa or any other kind of visa that can guarantee one work there,
If possible, how much is thiz fees..finished my masteral in philippines, presently taking up PHD, but won't continue becos of hardship in thiz land phili, will ned a gud response from right source here
I honestly cannot provide the best answer to ur queries bro, as visa related issues are hugely at the discretion of the VIO(Visa issuing Officer).

Why dont u find time to come-by their office n ask them directlyhuh(since u are a legit student in Philippines).
But I honestly suggest u to consider SK first, as a prospective student...dt helps n would allow u to work legitimately as well.
Cheers.

Could u quickly tell me if my step brother without Same surname can sponsor me? Will it fly?
Yes, it will sure fly. All u need is an attested letter backed up wt sworn affidavit by ur sponsor. And make sure it's nothing less than 10k USD.

I was sponsored by my Laboratory, hence the guy in charge(my professor) had to use his own pers account. Mine n dt of my father's were just to compliment.

Hello Acadollar, WILL10 and any other Nigerians in Korea.
please, i really need someone who can help in depositing about 96,000 Korean Won into Woori Bank..

please, I really have from now till Thursday to make the deposit and transferring from Nigerian bank always take 7-15 days...

please, anyone in Korea who can help should show up please, so as to discuss how the transaction will be and I'll transfer to Korea using Western union..

Thanks..
Hello Gbaby,
Were u able to resolve your cash payment ishhhuh

Guys,
SK isnt really like Naija where u get all the time in the world to relax n constantly be online to attend to often repetitive questions on Nairaland, Esply wen u're getting paid by your institution + we the newbies need sometime to also settle down too n fix all the necessary registrations wt the immigrations over here. I work at my lab from 10am until 10pm, (sometimes till 2am) as I have to conduct research analysis, write research papers n make presentations subsequently.

Our nairalanders in Naija could keep the thread interactive with constant re-appriasal of everyone's respective steps.

Be calm guys, you all will sure get more info as soon as admission time knocks or whenever such Info are available to us.
Cheers n have a great independence day celebrations.

1 million? Cost of living is very high
Kindly note dt my budget estimate of 1mil in inclusive of ur visa applications, flight ticket(one way), and accommodation + feeding(for 2/3 months)....

In my own case.
Visa applications + documentations=22k naira
Flight ticket=300k naira (Lagos - abuja and Abuja - SK)
Dormitory + feeding for semester (4months)=$1200 (400k naira roughly wt MasterCard)

I am sure u realize dt budgets depends solely on the individual....
I hope my analysis helps...

Hello bro... Just could you help me with summary.. I mean if you add all the flight ticket from naija to sk, visa fees, school fees, small money to hold for hand using this current naija exchange.. What should be the budget of those that will like to come and join you over there. .... Waiting for you reply.. Thanks in advance.
Bulk of the budget determinant would be solely hinged on ur schools fees. If that is excluded, I am sure about 1mil naira would easily bring u here and make u live here for about 2/3months(even without a job).
Hence, try securing scholarships from schools or get a low-paying ones. Cheers.

woooow. Thanks for the pics. One thing i love south korea for is all these tall buildings. You are in KIT right? Is this Gumi or Seoul?
We are still on transit from Seoul to Gumi...and den to my campus.

Shakitibob0:
great bro - - - how much did you spend for flight and which Airline? Was it a one way ticket?
I took a one-way flight ticket.

If ur visa is or exceeds 2years, den it's safer to get a one-way flight ticket. But if it's less than 2years, in ur own kindest interest, take a return flight.

My D2 VISA Application Experience
Location: SK Embassy in Lagos.
Dated on: 4th Aug
Applying for combined Msc n PhD in Information Technology

Docs Submitted
1. Properly filled visa app form wt 2 passports Fotos.
2. Int'l passports n copies of it.
3. Well written study plan.
4. Originals docs from pry till Masters n Birth cert.
5. Notorized copies of origals ONLY.
6. Admission docs n copies of it.
7. Sponsorship letters from dad n my SK Lab Supervisor (since am on a full scholarship wt monthly allowance also.)
8. Bank statements from those mentioned on (7) above n mine too.(had about 410k in mine).
9. Sworn affidavit from dad(sponsorship) n myself(graduation)
10. Official letters from all my Deans (Yabatech n 2 others in India).

Conversation with d Naija VO
*Got there and waited my turn.
*She checked all docs and arranged them her way.
*She took dem all inside to d SK VO. (Originals, copies, Int'l passport, letters n admission docs).
*She came back after about 5mins wt d VO officer and issued me a filed-out deposit SK teller asking me to go make payments of 18,500(Naira).
*She finally asked me to come back and pick up my Int'l passport, visa n other docs on 18th Aug 2016 @2pm.

My Conclusions
*She was a lil bit hasty expecting me to have properly arranged my docs.
*But was able to calm her down at some point wt some sweet talks.
*She emphasized strongly on letters from my Deans n Bank statements, admission kits n study plan.
*Expected some form of interview but none was done.
*Was very smooth got over in less than 15mins.
