Yes I did, my husband just don't understand the gravity the visa thing, he just felt wedding certificate will get me the visa.

Did you overstay on your visiting visa? And why did your husband not properly organise all the documents during your initial submission?
Our spouse visa was refused on relationship and accommodation issues, Sheffield have until end of October to give me a feed back, because I lived with my husband in uk for almost 2 years before returning I only have prove of address in his address, although I have call records since we met in 2011, but for me my contract phone was not in my name, although he started paying for it few months after we met, I can't present that evidence, so I have very few evidence for our relationship, for the accommodation part he did not include a letter from council which he now included in the appeal.

My husband said it looks it is going I our favour

From the questions the judge asked your husband, he/she would have given an indication on direction of judgement.
Is it in my favour or it can still be refused?

It's very common, they don't turn up in most cases.

I picked up my package from teleperformance in VI yesterday and did not open it till the door of my hotel room was firmly locked behind me....I got my Visa cheesy
I want to appreciate @Lexusgs430 who first responded to my request for Information almost 3 months ago when I decided to come back to Nigeria to reapply for my spouse visa having been rejected an in-country application in the UK last year. I overstayed in the UK for almost 10 years and decided enough was enough...it was indeed the best decision I ever made. I also want to appreciate @justwise for managing and coordinating this forum. Well that's me done and I am going back to meet my madam after almost 3 months apart. I will still be a part of this forum to provide assistance to anyone going through something similar to what I went through. For those who are still waiting, anticipating I say" Never give up". Bless y'all!

You are so lucky, I have done same and I am still here one year and counting, hopefully I will win at court. Congrats.

Hello everyone, I am so pleased and grateful for the things God has done for me, although it was a difficult time in the whole process because I was already in the Uk for seven and half years before I came back to Nigeria, and it has been 2 years and 10 months I have been here also. I finally got me visa stamped last week and I have picked it up, also done my tb test and I should be leaving anytime soon too. I want to say to everyone going through a hard time that God has a plan for you, up till now I still don't know how to thank my God for what he has done, I still don't believe my passport is in my wardrobe with my visa on it, all in all, please keep praying and don't relent in your effort to join your loved ones. God will bless us all. Thanks so much to everyone who have contributed one way or the other on this forum. @Justwise,@Girlfio etc God will continue blessing you.
Congrats, I don't pray to be in Nigeria for that long, how did you do it, anyway it is over enjoy.

Please if you have this information share , I know you were not in court but maybe you would have those information.

honestly I don't keep cards but we have given each other cards, after a while I throw it away, yes a lot of our friends can vouch for our relationship, we gave text messages before the wedding, and we wrote the letters already, I just hope we get pass this soon.

Do you have any emails or phone records that you can include prior to your wedding. Any cards you exchanged for Birthdays etc. also if you can arrange for a close family member or friend to write a statement and vouch for your relationship that can help. Not sure if this applies to you but if you had to do church counselling before the wedding, you can ask for the pastor to write something in support of your relationship. Basically if you have limited evidence try and get as many statements as you can from trusted sources that will support and have been in support of your relationship before and on your wedding day. You can also individually write a statement about how you met, how your relationship developed, how did you decide to get married, make it personal. At the end of the day as long as you are in a legitimate relationship, the truth will become apparent to any judge.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by willwin2: 11:50am On Nov 27, 2014
If you are going to go down the lawyer route then the best thing to do is go for someone that has been recommended to you by a close family member or friend. If you don't have an infinite amount of funds it's best to go with a lawyer that can be trusted and has a proven track record.

[I know but am a little worried, I can't get my hands on any picture of us together before the wedding, just didn't know we need them, we now have a few after the wedding, when he visited me, so just don't know how else to prove relationship with the before pictures.

Yes I know that application is sent to Sheffield, that is out of the picture, but my question is this..were you asked to submit your documents separately?
No, I sent mine to my husband and he sent everything to Sheffield.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by willwin2: 7:50am On Nov 01, 2014
justwise:
What I asked for is where the new rule is published, I have tried to search around but failed to see where it stated that husband and wife should send their documents separately.
The arguments is not whether the application is processed in Sheffield or not, that we all know, somebody show me where the new rule is published.
I submitted mine February, and vfs would not take any document just the form, passport and some things I can't remember, even the applicant's documents go to Sheffield.
Good evening all, THERE IS IS GOD OOOO, just thought i let you guy know that my wife has finally got her visa in her pulse today!

(*) Settlement visa applied for on Christmas Eve 2013.
1.Date of Refusal:09th February 2014 (they thought it wasn't a Genuine relationship(THEIR FATHER)
2.Appeal submitted 27th February 2014 19 week deadline date given: 19th September 2014.
2.1 more evidences to prove our relationship na Genuine 25th August 2014
3.Refusal overturn: 04 September 2014
3.1 Sent wife passport off to Visa Section Sheffield 09 September 2014
4.Passport Collection 29th October 2014

wife got a text saying passport ready for collection and we both were happy not knowing it was a refusal..little mistake we made was to tell friends and family members we got the visa until she went to the VAC for Passport collected from Lekki Lagos.
however, i went to Nigeria in July 2014 for 1 month to see my wife and used the opportunity for find more evidences just in-case they ask for more pictures etc.!
my stupid lawyer tryna skint me like oil buyer but didn't allow it as i was kinda determined to prove the HO was wrong to refused us. finally we appealed bypassing my initial recommendation of fresh application advised by lawyer which i refused severally! he kept saying we might not get the visa blah blah....2 words (SHUT UP)! huh grin I did a PAPER HEARING APPEAL £80 as i didn't want to travel all the way from south to north of England!

The Appeal process is a nightmare embarassed lipsrsealed cry and you gona be fully ready to wait and this can also destroy marriages/relationship so be careful wink and this kind of occasion aint for me lol Glad my wife was on my ears every 10 sec... wink

[Am not wishing myself bad o but it is really affecting my health, I thought I was strong but almost one year have really dealt with me, even my husband's visit have not changed anything.

Unless the rules have changed, you'll need a pretty strong reason to expedite your court date. Unfortunately I don't think they would accept stress as a reason to bring the date closer. Maybe if you had a clinical assessment that had a statement from a doctor that the process was having significant impact on your mental state but you don't want to wish for everything to reach that level. You can't let this process now start affecting your health. Yes, it's a long wait but you've made it this far. You will discover just how strong you are. You will make it to the other side of this.
Hello, my court date is April, the stress is already affecting me, do you think I can expedite my court date.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by willwin2: 2:43pm On Oct 20, 2014
Ok....there is nothing scaring about the tribunal, you can go with somebody for moral support if you want, you just have to defend those documents you submitted and explain your own side of the refusal, remember that the case is about whether your marriage is genuine and the accommodation issue. Those two areas are your focus and expect questions from them.

But do I need to submit another set of document for the judge, how can I defend my case, is it necessary I get a lawyer.

Not all, the bill, wedding pics was in the initial application.

Were those included in your initial application?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by willwin2: 9:23am On Oct 20, 2014
Few photos, prove we lived together for almost 2 years( prove of address phone bill in my name ),prove of communication after the marriage, evidence he visited me after the wedding(tickets and stamped passport ), my whatapp chat, and call log.

Ok I get that....so in your appeal package what document did you include to proof that your relationship is real?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by willwin2: 8:41am On Oct 20, 2014
I was refused on relationship and accommodation, they don't believe my relationship is genuine, and I don't have permission to live in the flat(we didn't include letter from council in our application).

Why were you refused at the first place?
Hello mates, I am going to court, what should be expecting from Sheffield, I was told they have only returned the bundle, are they not suppose to give reason y they maintained their decision, or we will just go to court and deal with the two reasons I was refused on at first.
