Hi all, thanks for all your concern..

It's not been easy so far..I've been able to gather half of the money through menial jobs and looking forward to completing it before I get back to the already started semester..

Why didn't you pay the money at diamond/access bank that is in school? Or you could have gone to one of these business centers around school. They would have charged you 1k max to do the payment online. You could have even done it by yourself with your ATM card online.

Anyways, there's almost nothing you can do to catch that guy unless luckily, you find him on that spot which is very very unlikely. If you know any of the "men" who run stuff in that area, they might help.

Stop going to the bank, there is absolutely nothing that can be done on their end to recover your money.

Douglas is the number 1 hotspot for criminals in the whole of owerri. Don't try that place at all.

I think it might have some hands to do with inside bank workers because the message came as a first bank message..

he didn't ask me to give him my school fees, he said he should transfer to me while I give him the cash..

He first did the transfer, I received the alert before handing the money to him..

The mistake I did was not logging to my mobile app to check of it reflected..

This thing happened like a movie honestly..

Well as for reporting the incident to my mom... That will be the last resort after I must have excercised every other options.. because I don't want my mom developing hypertension..

I'd rather toil and replace the fees myself..


Does anyone has any connection with any law enforcement agency..I believe if I reach there with them, the people around there must have known the whereabouts of the person.. because I believe it's a coordinated attempt.

I school at federal university of technology Owerri..

Our first semester is to resume in 2 weeks time and as usual my mom do give me my school fees as early as possible to avoid unforseen circumstances taking the money,and my school Is a no fees no exams school.. ( Auxtin85 )

So I was given the fees on Friday to go make the payment... As I reached Douglas road Owerri, I alighted from car which was carrying me to go to uba and make the payment..

A guy called me, from one of plazas there, he said he knew me from a wedding like that, I didn't recognize his face, so I told him I don't know him..
He asked me.what I came for, I told him I wanted to pay my school fees..
He said thank God that he needs some cash, he can do transfer for me so I can give him the cash..
Since it was almost the same thing because I was going to deposit to my bank and make the transfer through remmita.. I decided to give him the cash..

So he asked for my account number which I gave him.. he made a fake transfer to me and I received alert.. I gave him the money.. he walked away..

When I went home to make the transfer, I discovered it didn't reflect in my mobile app.. I called customer care, they insisted I didn't receive any money.. it dawned on me it was a fake transfer..

So today been Monday, I went back there, as I reached there, I asked people around if they see the guy..they said they don't.know who I was talking about..

I walked straight to the police station at fire service.. the said that before I make am entry and regulation, I must give them 20k.. that shebi na we protest endsars.. say make I go carry unknown gunmen go search for am..
I walked out there and walked straight to my bank.. I showed them the alert and explained everything to them, they said it was a fake transfer and nothing I could do about it..

So am lost now, what can I do? I don't have any other money with me and I cant go back like this..

Am still stranded inside town like this..

This mindset is wrong and you need to change it. Last week I dashed a friend 50k to support her business. She's a friend and a classmate. Ave not even seen her in 3 years and we never had anything intimate, not to mention my relations and friends way I Don dash money. 20k way I give my guy few minutes ago all for free. Change your clique of friends bro! Person way wan help you go help you free of charge!
