Speaking of the bellow, will it be proper to present photos of traditional marriage along side with the
Church wedding photo at the interview as a proof of mmarriage?

VisaOfficer:
There shouldn't be any confusion. If the officer seems to want to question you, just remind him or her that the petitioner is non-Nigerian, and only Nigerians marry in traditional weddings in Nigeria. (Nairalanders, if that's not true, this is an excellent time to correct me...)

Yes V.O my husband filed in as a us citizen.
I just hope I will be scheduled for interview that October. Pls don't go until im scheduled for interview lol. Thank you.

Your husband is a U.S. citizen, so the case will be eligible to be scheduled for the next available interview, probably in October. If your husband was a Legal Permanent Resident when the petition was filed, he should let NVC know that he is now a citizen right away, or they will continue to process you as an F2A (which has a longer wait time).
Thanks V.O, That means January 2015 is my priority date, when will the process be due to end ? as it was approved by USCIS last week.

Your priority date is the date the petition was filed. Hope this helps!
Please can someone explain priority date for me? My case was just approved by USCIS and has been sent to NVC. I applied since January this year, when could be my priority date?

Aburoy:
Wow, just read through the thread. If your initials are DELETED then it was you I saw. it but will keep it to myself xcept u want the house to know. But truth be told, you have done a whole lot enlightening people and making us know the immigration policies of the united states.
A quick one pls, are we to expect longer wait for priority dates to be current as a result of the new immigration law that was passed by president Obama or everything stays normal? Really missing my family but this seems like a whole long wait before my case is current.

Dear vo,

Thank you so much for the response.

But now that this is the 7th month that our case is still pending with USCIS, will it still take several other months with the NVC? oR we should be expecting that the case will be concluded in another 2months.

I just missed my husband so much, the experience is not easy for us at all.

Please I await your response.

Best regards.

VisaOfficer:
As long as the names match (that is, Jane Smith and Jane Elizabeth Smith instead of Jane Smith and Mary Catherine Jones) it won't be a problem.

It generally takes around six to eight month for USCIS to process a case, but that's just a general guideline. You might want to reach out to USCIS and ask for a status update.

Hi vo,

I have a pending case with USCIS but going through questions and answers here I felt I should ask this. My husband filed in for me with my 2 names only while I have 3 names on my passport. hope there is no problem about it.

Secondly the case with USCIS is beyond 5months which is their latest official time to attend to a case. Please what do you advice us to do as this the 7th month
