The club that can boast playing the most seasons in the English top flight is Everton, who are currently playing in their 121st season.

With 20 league titles under their belt, Manchester United have won the most league titles in English top flight football, with their last title coming in 2013.

(3)Most points in the top flight overall: 7205

With a record 2046 top flight matches won and 1067 matches drawn (as of 25/12/2023), Liverpool have amassed a record 7205 points in English top flight football, as they currently sit at the summit of the all-time English top flight table.

(4)Most wins in a single season: 32, Man city and Liverpool joint record

In the 2017-2018 season, man city won a staggering 32 matches as they broke the record for most wins in a single season in English top flight. They also repeated the feat the following season.

While the 2019-2020 season saw Liverpool also winning 32 matches and equalling the record for most wins as they ended their 30-year title drought.

(5) Fewest losses in a season: 0, Preston North End and Arsenal joint record

Preston North End went unbeaten in the 1888-1889 inaugural top flight season as they lost none of the 22 matches they played that season.

Since then, going unbeaten in a season in English top flight proved to be a tall order until Arsenal achieved the feat in the 2003-2004 season when they went unbeaten, achieving their invincibles status.

(6) Most titles won by a manager: 13

Sir Alex Ferguson has won the most English top flight titles as a manager, lifting a record 13 premiere league titles with Manchester United.

(7) Record win: 12-0, Westbrom and Nottingham forest joint record.

West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest hold the record for biggest win in the English top flight league with Westbrom defeating Darwen 12-0 in April 1892, and Nottingham forest defeating Leicester city by the same score line in 1909. No team has won by a 12-goal margin since then.

(15)Most consecutive top flight league matches scored in by a player: 15

Blackpool player Stan Mortensen is the record holder for the most consecutive games scored in by a player, scoring in a record 15 consecutive top flight games playing for Blackpool in the 1950-1951 season.

(16)Most goals in a top flight game: 7

This record goes to Arsenal player Ted Drake who scored 7 goals in one match playing for Arsenal at home against Aston Villa on 14 December 1935.

(17)Most career league appearances: 849

Goalkeeper Peter Shilton who played for Derby county, Southampton, Leicester city, Nottingham Forest and Stoke city between 1966 to 1997 is the record appearance holder, having played 849 top flight matches.
