The price is high no doubt. But in all honesty, there are not much phones with full HD 1080p display and aluminum body that are cheaper. Even Gionee m5 has a terrible 720p display and it is selling for 53k plus.

I believe the price would have been lesser if the economy isn't as bad as it currently is.

2weeks before the launch , This site predicted that the price will be within that range , so I'm not surprised. Visit the site and see how people were already complaining about the high price , begging TECNO to reduce it.

I'ld say Airtel is cheaper. I'm currently using their #3,500 for 9GB Android Plan , and its really fast.

If you want a recently updated list of Mtn data plans , I found this online : Subscribing for Mtn Data in Nigeria

Phones / Which Mobile Brand In Nigeria Is The Fans Favourite by Wittylens(m): 8:09pm On Nov 17, 2015
Xiaomi has launched in Nigeria and their smartphones can be purchased from Jumia. "The Apple of China (Xiaomi)" is venturing into a highly saturated and competitive market ; a market where selling cheap is no longer a guarantee for success.

But which brand is the fans favourite? In this article we're going to profile the top mobile brands with a strong presence in Nigeria.

Disclaimer : This Article is based on our research and interaction with mobile customers. In the last 3months and 8days , our team had offline and online interactions with 531 mobile users in Nigeria (From all walks of life). We asked them what their favourite mobile brand is. Based on their response , Here are the top mobile brands in Nigeria.

1. Infinix Mobility Guess who's number 1? cheesy INFINIX MOBILITY!!!. 27.3% of users chose Infinix Mobility as their favourite brand. Infinix mobility stormed the Nigerian market in 2013 and has experienced tremendous growth since then. They recently partnered with google to launch the first Android One smartphone in Africa.

2. TECNO Mobile : Tecno is second on the list with 25.1% of users choice. TECNO launched the first dual sim phone in Africa and has since grown to be one of the biggest smartphone brands in the continent. Tecno caught the attention of tech lovers in when they launched their first ever android smartphone , Tecno N3 , in 2012.

3. Blackberry : Blackberry still has some loyal fans in Nigeria. The canadian company is third on our list with 14.4%. This is no suprise. Nigeria (Africa) still remains one of Blackberry's biggest market , even though the company has continued to see huge declination in revenue.

Apple is 4th with 10.6% , Samsung is 8.4% , Innjoo is 5.9% , Others with 8.3%.

Phones / Hands-on : First Impressions With Tecno Boom J7 by Wittylens(m): 10:48pm On May 16, 2015
Boom J7 needs no introduction. You've seen it on TV , Heard it on radio , Read about it on Blogs. But how well do you know this smartphone? Android Nigeria got few minutes to play with this smartphone at Jumia's techbloggers roundtable meeting few days back and we were totally impressed.

Hands-On , the first thing that greeted my lovely eyes was the red ring at the bottom of the front display (there is also a red ring at the back). That Red ring is more than just a home button. It serves as an LED light which blinks whenever you have a notification. Also , You can easily launch Boom Player (Music Player) by just pressing down the red ring for 5seconds.

The 5' inch display on j7 has an impressive design. This device has a rectangular body with almost sharp edges. We noticed that Tecno removed its branding(name) from the top of the device and placed it on the back.

The UI is pretty interesting. Of course , Boom J7 runs Android 4.4kitkat Is but you can easily mistake it for iOs . Tecno did a lot of customization on the User Interface. The UI is very sleek , the icons are flat and neatly arranged. Tecno combined the sleekness of iOS with the versatility of Android Os to give a wonderful user experience.
