-Hausa community vacates Bayelsa after death threats from Asari
-Community Head says exodus is not out of fear but political
-Says Bayelsa is a safe haven for the Hausa

On the backdrop of the threat of war against the North and Nigeria issued by the retired militants in Yenagoa some Hausas have read the writing on the wall and packed their things out of the state.

The mass exodus started shortly after the threat by Asari that if his “brother” should lose at the polls he would unleash untold terror on the Northerners. The Hausa community in Bayelsa who run businesses in the oil rich region have left all to save their heads because of the victory signs of their candidate but the head of the Hausa community in Bayelsa has defused all speculations that the Northerners were running he said they were moving to their hometown to vote for the candidates of their choice at the legislative and executive level in their states.

Alhaji Yau Katsine said the security operatives of the state has assured the Hausa community of total security and therefore have no need to exit the state massively.

The mass exodus was worrisome but he called for calm seeming to play down the threats, and consequent reaction.

The head of the Hausa community said Bayelsa has been a safe haven for them and will continue to be so. We sincerely hope Asari and others feel the same way too. Nigeria for all!
