i don't think there's much changes moving this thread to culture section for those that have been active on this thread, or those that have commented here.

The only bane is for new comers.

we can always follow this thread by clicking on "followed topic", then scroll to click this thread that's all.

it's a known fact that Mr. Seun is money/traffic conscious with this site, that's why he always leave thread/matters of national security on most sections FP. but what will help every individual and the nation at large is a taboo to him and his mod. little wonder one will see about 15 bi ass fran thread on politics FP every day all in the name of traffic. which isn't suppose to be so.

I miss the good old days though.

if you don't amend your loop holes Mr Seun, honestly you will pay for it.

This is a Forum not a blog, that's why sile12 deactivated his account.
This not isn't educative anymore, rather it makes one become a tribalist and hate filled.

mcheeeew.

Are you really asking this question?

Gosh!!!!

What kind of joy is there in travelling from Onitsha to Enugu to visit shoprite? Later you'll yap Lagos that there's nothing in Lagos meanwhile Shoprite is shacking you like Big Stout.

This is so pitiable!!!

WIZGUY69 see your meat.
grin cheesy

iya wa*
You should know by now that the iboe children are nothing but village goats.
Do you know that in all the five eastern red mud landlocked states of alaibo. there's only one shoprite? grin Amazing right?
Lagos is New York/ obodo oyinbo to them.
Only Ibadan will flaw those red mud alaibo.
Only Ibadan have two shoprite, while one of the two is the biggest in W/Africa.

Shymm3x:
- What's the history of Lokoja?

- What's the meaning of the name in Yoruba, Igala, and ebira - and the correlation of those meanings with what the place represents?

- Which ethnic group got there first?

- And which ethnic group has the largest population there and what's the language spoken there?

I think the place is similar to Warri.
- Lokoja
was the capital of the British Northern
Nigeria Protectorate and remained a
convenient administrative town for the
British colonial government after the
amalgamation of Northern and Southern

- I actually don't know the meaning in Ebira & Igala.

- igala got their first, that's why the main king in lokoja is Attah. (which means Father).

- igala then ebira then okun. the major language spoken there depends on the location. in lokoja ( which is the major city their) Igala
okene the second largest town which happens to be the main town of the ebiras. they speak ebira there.

I think so..cool

MayorofLagos*
Do you really mean Okun people are the real owner of Lokoja?
They are not even in the top 3 major groups in that Kogi state. Besides the okuns are not even suppose to be in the same place with the igalas/Ebira.
if okun are the real owner of Lokoja, where's the ancestral home/place of the ebira and the igalas?
it seems we are now becoming land grabbers. grin

Ogun state gets new radio station

https://cdn.pmnewsnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/Senator-Gbenga-Obadara-249x336.jpg

A non serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Gbenga Obadara, who represented Ogun Central Senatorial District under the platform of SDP during the 7th legislature has opened a new private radio station in the state.

All is now set for the on air commencement of the private radio station located within the heart of Abeokuta.
The newly completed radio station has been undergoing test transmission since 20 November.

The new station named ‘Sweet FM’, will be transmitting on the frequency of 107.1FM band.

The station is situated within the popular Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Findings revealed that the station, which is the second private radio station in the state, will fully come on air by 1 December, 2015.
Investigation revealed that a lot of programmes being aired on an existing radio station in the town have now been taken to the new radio station
.

A member of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) in the state, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that the new radio station arrived at a very good time when they were having some crisis with the management of the existing radio station.

There has been crisis between the management of the Radio Nigeria, Abeokuta (Paramount FM) and FIBAN in the state and the station is like home station for most of the presenters in the state.

The presenters stopped airing their programmes on the station in the last one month before the station itself went off air since about two weeks ago due to a faulty transmitter.

Our correspondent reliably gathered that the Odeda-born former federal lawmaker commenced work on the radio station as requested by the FIBAN members due to his close and cordial relationship with the association.

With the birth of the new radio station in few days to come, Ogun State is now having four radio stations. One is owned by the Federal Government, Paramount 94.5 FM; the second one is the state owned, OGBC 2 90.5FM and the third one, Rockcity 101.9FM owned by a veteran journalist and a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state under Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Mr Niran Malaolu.
The newest in town now is Sweet 107.1FM which will commence full transmission on Tuesday, 1 December, 2015.

Four is too small o shocked
Even small osun have more than that.
Oyo own is up to 10 sef.
Anyway, most radio stations in Lagos transmission do reach Ogun too.
We have religious radio stations too. (Lagos-Ibadan express way churches).

Why won't all the comment be reference to your cursed people?

But since its not BBC Igbo now. its NONSENSE* wink

Cry Cry babies.
Wait for 2040.

Don't blame the Yorubas, how many people this days speak Igbo? Even Igbo's themselves prefer speaking Yoruba than Igbo.

Igbo language isn't appealing at all.

Is this the same as the Oduduwa radio set to take off in UK?

Is there a BBC Africa app?
I don't think its the same. Odua radio will be kinda private, while BBC own is public. okun o
