SIRTee15: Guy relax, Almost everybody who commented admitted the $9 billion stuff is an error and not feasible. Probably a slip of tongue from the cbn official or he was misquoted by the media outlet. U are the only one here running up and down n making a fuss about it. Forget about the impossibility and focus on the possibility. For ur info....the global industrial starch market is worth $70 billion, while that of the chocolate industry is $96 billion. Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava in the world, therefore if we get serious with our agro-allied sector, I'm sure we can export at least $1 billion worth of industrial starch. The link also gave the same $9 billion and whereas why wasn't the name of the company stated or it's producer? Had it been it was 9 billion naira then there wouldn't have been any fuss about it. Even $9 million is unbelieveable cuz no state in Nigeria is on full scale agriculture. |

SIRTee15: #9 billion is more than $9 million....... So I wonder why u think the former is possible but the later is not....stop allowing big numbers to confuse u. $9 million or #9 billion worth of industrial starch export is very much feasible...... Nigeria exported $800 million worth of cocoa products in 2014. But according to the article $9B is been earned from the sales of cassava starch in 2015 only. So are you trying to tell me $9 billion is feasible? Between cassava starch and cocoa which one do you think would earn you more money? No matter what the cassava starch is used for $9 billion is definitely a fraud. Why didn't they write the name of the producer? Why wasn't the name of the company stated? Are you trying to tell me you can earn more from the sales of cassava starch than cocoa? Do you know the difference between the $800 million derived from a year sales of cocoa to $9 billion derived from cassava? Propanganda is all what i can see. You cannot sell a tonne of cassava and earn more if you sell a tonne of cocoa. Don't be deceived. |

And that man never enter forbes list of richest men. The producer don't have name to cuz no name was written there. The company don't have name to cuz none was also written. The company don't have location in ibadan? No pictorial evidence too. Instead of you to condemn such lies you are hear defending it. Not good at all. |

Remii: he is talking about industrial starch as raw material not food or fufu, but $9b is clearly an error The fact still remains you cannot earn such amount of money from the export of one commodity. $9 billion or million whatever you call it is a big scam. Cassava starch only. Tell me what would happen when cocoa is been exported? We should probably be seeing $900 billion from it's export. 9 billion naira is believeable but 9 billion or million dollars is purely a scam. |

So where is this so called industrial starch coming from? I hope it is also industrial cassava crop. The fact still remains that you cannot make $9 billion or million a year from cassava starch, starch ooo even if it is used for industrial purpose or the entire ogun turn into a cassava plantation. 14: Before end of march it will be N1000 to $1. Nigeria was told to devalue the currency and ignoredmthe request, now watch when Naira do the free fall due to shortages dollars because no foreign investor is investing in Nigeria Had the naira been allowed to find it true value there wouldn't have been a free fall. Overdependence on crude oil is now hunting us after years of yearning for diversification. Regionalism is our way out since the centre can't support the units the the units should support the centre but that wouldn't happen because of oil rush which isn't a stressful means of making money. The two states that MIGHT stay afloat would be lagos and anambra. Lagos for been an industrial state already and anambra for diversifying her economy(agriculture, autos and education). Other states including mine would find it difficult to cope with this harsh economic challenges |

....there are very many commentary on depreciation of ₦ nowadays expecially in parallel market, although parallel or black market can be manipulated by the traders, they either do it on their self interest, so those who doesn't beleive in the prosperity of nigeria can harbour $ as they can on imported goods hereby cause hike! But in my own point of view the depreciation of ₦ is a great success to this nation if well manage to nigeria situation today. the looted fund is in $ and it must be refunded back in $, so if $1 is ₦198 when the money is looted, then if the money is refund today at $1 to ₦350 the nation has gained ₦152! imagine if $1=₦1000, the gain is ₦902! So in conclusion if the government managed to refund the $trillion looted and the refunded money, change it in parallel market, this will reduce the pressure on ₦ and the scarcity of $ in parallel market so the ₦=$.
(take note all the money took out of CBN during jonathan regime were changed in parallel market before ditributed)
you have other opinion? I hope you know that when the ₦ depreciates to ₦1000, inflation also appreciates and are even worse when the nation is import dependent. And since you are more interested in the recovery of the looted funds why don't we depreciates the ₦ officially since you don't know that when trillions of dollars is been exchanged in the black market the price value of dollar will fall. Demand and Supply. Do you have any other opinion? |

I don't know why the last confab report hasn't been implemented. Is it the lust for oil with the hope of future revival that is preventing it? What i know for sure is that if we still depend on a falling crude oil to source our forex knowing for sure we are import dependent, we will soon start experiencing higher marginally decline of our foreign reserves just reduce the dollar rush as against our falling naira, that will be when things would be going from worse to worst. |

Is the jamboree the venue of the vocational study if there is anything of such? He is there to play meaningless politics - Simple. In a nut shell, just because he attended an occasion doesn't make him a bad governor. Your complaint should be forwarded to the governor of osun state, who built the longest talking drum with no economic importance and admitted the inflation of osun airport project by a whooping 9 million naira to a governor who built a market place with 100 stores, sent unemployed youths to aba to learn trade hence reducing unemployment and it's vices and also partnering with anambra state to improved the standard of education in ekiti. Simple. So you might want to tell be who is the useless governor between those two? |

What issue regarding Ekiti is the yeye governor discussing at a party victory celebration.? You were also wrong just because you want to be calculative. If he is using his own pocket money to sponsor his self then there is nothing wrong. Least he has a deputy to run affairs in his absence. Mind you some when last year he sent some youth to aba to learn trade and skills acquistion, he might probably want to see how they are faring and their progress. If that is the case, It is better to have Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen and others assembling their vehicles in Nigeria to meet demand in Nigeria. This Innosson vehicle is a waste of my hard earned money. I will get better value for my money with Ford, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan or better still, Toyota (Good thinking, good product). Who cares? Like your patronage will even be noticed. Other nigerians will buy once it is affordable. |
