solomonkane: Can't help feeling sorry for all the "tech savvy' cretins ranting on this thread; "BB is bad, Iphone is good"; who gives a rat's furry crack? None of you had any hand in producing or designing them yet you're screaming as if your sperm(s) were the essential ingredient deployed in creating or destroying these gadgets. He that wants a BB should get a BB, don't hate what you can't have, he that wants an Apple, Android or Samsung smartphone should do same. You are all Nigerians and when RIM, Apple, Samsung et al look at you, all they see are dollar signs. E.O.D!!!

llouis: BB will soon be extinct, like how the computer fazed out the typewriter, or how the disc man fazed out the walkman, its only a matter of time.

Technologies come and go, at one time we used floppy diskettes on our computers, then zip drives, then flash drives, then external disks and now we have solid states.

The time will come in the near future that data rates in nigeria will crash, at that time bb wud cease to exist. Its time has come and gone, we need to embrace new technology to keep up with the changing times.

Truth be told, RIM is fighting a war it knows it can no longer win. When everything goes sideways they will fold up and count their losses. Nigeria is way to small to keep them running.
By then Apple would have developed cheaper products like its ipad mini and samsung also would follow suit.

In another 5 years or less apps like whatsapp would replace bbm and we would all come back to this thread to reminisce the days when bb was a status symbol

druid06: I've never really liked the blackberry phone.As an iPhone user, I'm not just being descriminating or being biased because of my love for iPhone. I just don't like that phone. The behaviour of Nigerian users who irritatingly flaunt their blackberry phones has made me have a total distaste for that phone out of the norm. First, it has battery problems, the batteries never last. I understand that all smart phone are that way but that of BB is just worse. Most of the programs on there are always crashing when you're doing something important init. I bought a fairly used one from a friend because of the cheap internet service, I couldn't use it for a week, It was so annoying that I sold it for a lesser amount than I got it. If you want to use a smart phone that's not all too expensive why not try good phones like the samsumg galaxy, nokia too has some nice phones and I just saw an advert from Motorola with this new touch screen smart phone. Backberry is just total crap. Q.E.D.

azpekuliar: You must have been living under a cave. The future of the gaming industry is in smartphone based games. Aside paid game apps, in-app game purchases is one of the highest sources of gaming revenues on the ios & andriod app stores and are already eclipsing the revenues of Nintendo & Sony. As smartphone use broadens, more and more people are choosing to play games on the move.

bukky1: try a tecno phantom (f7) or a Gionee Dream (d1) n u will b singing a new song. Android has come to take over and stay!!!!!!!!! i know the ISPs are working reak hard about the internet subscriptions. BBs are nt really worth it nowadays due to high price. havent u noticed the BB torch 3 n Z10 which they made with a feel of the andriod? thats to tell u that they are now trying to catch up with the trend.

Lastly, which app can I use to boost my ram by swapping my memory card's portion?? saying this because I can't even play modern combat 4 on my tp5 and front line commando sometimes hang for seconds while playing!

Osyxcel: 1. That Gsmarena doesn't recognize it doesn't make it less good. It will only give it international recognition. Maybe in the future, Tecno will be recognized.

2. My M3 is perfect in it's own way, so I don't see any bug to fixed with OTA. It runs 4.2, and right now, I'm less concerned with 4.3 or 4.4, just maybe when 5.0 comes out. 4.2 will still be much relevant in the next 2yrs at least.

What I'm trying to say in essence is that I'm less bothered with those things you listed above. They don't matter much, so far the performance of the phone is good.

Let's just enjoy our phones, Tecno, Gionee or PAPDAN

directonpc: yes i dont use P2, but i helped my friends to buy from abuja, and even uptill date no serious bad review from them. The worst place to get review about a phone is on nairaland, thanks to Tboys. I remember some weeks ago a nairalander took his hate for gionee so far as report them to NCC fb page admin. Funny enough gionee is not on same level with tecno, Google gionee E3,E5,E6, E7 not even by next year will tecno ....

santosslam: find out b4 u talk,P5 use WVGA and its d best screen resolution available now,u enjoy games more on it,so dnt expect games dat work on l3,m3(HVGA) to work on it,PES 2012 and oda WVGA games are many on internet,so go find and download.....there is nothing stoping me 4rm getting ma p5 on monday.

SWG 1: i have been following closely both forums and to settle the argument ild say; Besides both having almost similar spec, i think those that love camera and can forgo the frame skip should go for p2 and those that want luxury of 3g on both sims and very loud speaker should go for tecno. we don't need to be fan, rather we should choose the phone that suits our immediate need cos each one comes with a limitation or two at its price range. but lets not blame the people comparing cos it helps us make informed decision on which to buy.

I subscribe d Airtel N1,500, 2GB and since abt 1pm today i have nt even been able to download anytin frm play store. Na so d network dey do. Its showing 3G(H+) network bt noting dey happen. evergreen247: Oga, I will respond to you because I respect you a lot. Apart from having the same MT 6572 there are notable different in quality,; display, bluethoot 4.0, compass etc and most especially having GSM qaud band and 3g frequency of 900/2100 MHz, I personally need these frequency because I want use it outside Nigeria. That doesn't mean p5 is not good, the phone is fantastic all round but it boiled down to individual needs! Hope I made myself clear @ marcjoe.

marcjoe: Bro don't b decieved both TP5 AND GP2 have d same hardware....they both use dat cheap mediatek 1.3ghz processor so any game and app tp5 plays gp2 play d same game too....

Enough of all dis comparision tp5 and gp2 are on d same level ....na only software i.e rom difference...

I will only show you some obvious reasons that even tech illiterate will be able to distinguish. Check out page 23 of P5 thread and you will understand that p5 only boast of 3g both sim and stock OS besides custom Roms is what makes android special, you will be waiting for Ts5 with 4.4 kitkat next year while I will be flashing my Gp2 with it because it has quality hardware to compete with next year line up!
