Nissan makes very strong cars. This versa being one. There is nothing to be afraid of when it comes to cvt. Once u can get this oil and service ur gear as at when due,u shld be fine. U won't be d only one using a cvt on d road.

But op, you can talk to gazzu.z and persuade him to help you source for the 13pin gear, you might be lucky.

The 13pin the best replacement, but to avoid headaches, people tend to replace with 10pin.

It's as simple as ABC for someone who knows what he is doing. The same 13 pin can be found in a Toyota camry 07 and above. What the people selling replacements do is to sell the gear with the recommended original atf WS and also give u someone to install.

If u insist u want ur mech to install, the seller won't be responsible for whatever complains that may arise or he might choose not to sell to u at all. The reason people install 10 pin is because it's cheaper than 13 pin.

Ask yourself a question, if 10 pin was suitable, why did the manufacturer put a 13 pin in it?

Why go thru the stress of having to replace and redesign when u can simply replace and enjoy?

If you are the type that pays attention to your vehicle, you would notice that the 10 pin won't give u what the 13 pin would give to u.

Replace with a 13 pin, use the recommended transmission fluid and you should be fine.

I doubt anyone in Nigeria would be able to fix any price he/she likes when it comes to ivm by claiming import duty, clearing and the rest.

Same reason govt agencies and parastatals avoid it. Cos with a simple search, u can get the retail price.

U can claim to buy a hilux 19m,while someone can get same hilux for 22m and a dealer can get Dubai spec and sell to make more profit. All this can be justified but not with ivm. We know the price already and the location to get it direct.

I believe you boss has never used a 2012 Corolla b4 like I have used it. And I have experienced same problem. A colleague called me about same problem and he also had same doubts like your boss. He went to buy another instrument cluster and he was convinced. Before he took the same advice I just gave to you.

The temperature Guage should be an easy fix.

As for the rpm and speedometer not working, it either a wheel speed sensor is faulty, which should be a 10k fix or the entire abs unit is faulty, that should be a 50k fix.

Have the vehicle checked by a vehicle technician who is familiar with diagnosis and vehicle wiring system.

The next time u want to buy a Ford explorer or any other car at all,just make sure it doesn't have engine or gear problems.there is virtually nothing wrong in Ford explorer that has been in use from many years till date.

@op.The major reason you would not enjoy a Ford vehicle is if you intend to use lubricants that aren't approved.like using abro or Holt ATF in it's transmission.the next thing u begin to perceive is burnt smell.Let's ask who changed gear twice the kind of transmission fluid used to find out where the problem came from.
PS..He had no complain about the engine,ac, electrical or overheating.his explorer transmission obviously had an issue from the onset.how can a very unreliable vehicle make it up to the year 2020?
