CATS, RIPS AND DRAMEDIES...

This poem speaks about something everyone can relate to.

It's a poem about a torn trouser and the embarrassing experience that follows.

I have packed and garnished it with sweetening metaphors and depictions.

Take your time with it, let the words find room in your mind and laugh heartily at the impulses generated by the poetry.

Literature / 'oh Corona', A Poem by WordSayer: 11:36am On Mar 16, 2020
"OH CORONA!"

By: Pat Ashinze

evil has had a rootless rhapsody.
she is now fecundating like park squirrels,
diffusing her venom with the tides of oceans,
feeding on divisiveness, fattening on chaos,
implanting hydra-headed seeds into the winds.

from the Orient of Khan to Lizzy's majestic Europe;
to Columbus's Americas and to Africa's Subsahara -
evil wears a crown, ruling with a sceptre hewn from infirmities,,
desecrating nature's orchard with fear, thorns, serum and mucus.

but here i lie, on my bed, awake with polygonal imaginings,
unworried, precognitive and fighting the good fight of faith.
the world was not made yesterday. nothing lasts.

Literature / Broken Goddesses, A Poem By Pat Ashinze by WordSayer: 3:20am On Oct 08, 2019
About the #SexForGrades, i have created this.

....

A SONG OF BROKEN GODDESSES
….
this is a poem of muffled words and wingless lines:
one that is richly smudged with tones of anguish;
one that has refused to be swept by time's drainage,
one that begins and ends in loathsome memories,
inflicting hollowness in a once pristine but now damaged bodies.
we were once free and untamed like thunderstorms.
we once had thoughts of mere flowers and happiness,
we once had autonomy over our honeywells and desires
but like asteroids, we are now vestiges of dead stars --
courtesy of perverse vultures and foxes in high places,
courtesy of fathers who have lost the touch of conscience,
courtesy of shepherds who go bestial on their debile flock,
courtesy of old skunks who find salvation in the hips of butterflies.
how long… dear good people, shall we sing and wait for the sword of truth to rip the veil of manipulative secrecy apart?
how long shall you watch and allow us get manhandled?
how long shall you allow wild boars and sociopaths
devour your precious, beautiful lambs and colourful lilies?
how long shall diseased subhumans plunder the bodies
and souls of your girls before you rebel and revolt?
rebel against the wolves. renounce them. expose them.
give us the peace our spirits have long yearned for,
because like, a prisoner, our minds seeks freedom.

Literature / The Incongruity Of Love, A Short Essay By Pat Ashinze by WordSayer: 12:56am On Sep 09, 2019
The Incongruity of Love
...
There is a paradox about love or whatever people call it. A grandiose and ubiquitous dichotomy of emotions. It is such that people love people who do not and cannot love them back. People pour out their happiness; their souls and long for those who cannot and will not reciprocate. People love blindly and yearn to have amorous relationships with those who are either indifferent about them or plainly disinterested even to the extent of inflicting doses of hatred.
You may ask why. Well, i think i know why. I have listened to the earth and her mouth has whispered many mysteries and reasons into my ear, explaining why we love those who don't prioritize our existence.

1. People don't know what they want so they fill their emptiness with what they can find; be it good or bad.
2. People do not believe in love at first sight. People do not believe love can be spontaneous. We have been trained to think good things always come out of suffering. So we endure to sate our thirst even if the waters we see ahead are nothing but a mirage.
3. People hate the truth about love. And this truth is that: Love is a game of dual interests.
4. People believe love lives in barricaded cities so they venture deep, fighting hard, sitting by the fence, waiting for a leak, hoping the sun would rise and things will stick together for the common good.
5. Most people have been treated so poorly in life that they confuse basic human kindness for romantic interest, so they yearn for an endearing face that will make their dreams come true.

Literature / Easy, Practicable Skills For Creative Writing by WordSayer: 4:15pm On Jul 14, 2019
The art of creative writing is phenomenal and it has to be approached patiently to achieve finesse and paint your thoughts in the most accurate and colourful ways possible.

TIPS

1. Start. Do it. Write. Write it anyhow at first, don't proofread unnecessarily and then edit when it's done.

2. Have an idea or a focus for your writing. It could be a childhood experience or love recently gone forlorn. Then, pour out all your creative energy on that idea.

3. Read anyhow. Read voraciously. Read writings from writers that write your kind of style. Read as if its the only way you can hear and learn.

4. Have a good dictionary( I use The Sage's) to level up your vocab. You need an arsenal of words to be rich in diction and expression. You need words to build worlds.

5. Be very observant. Your immediate environment and the interactions of the people in it are most likely going to be your greatest muse. Notice the subtleties and wide scapes. Tap into the schema of your geography.

6. Allow yourself to write poorly, to write a weak, uninteresting story or a boring, grammatically incorrect poem. You’ll never succeed if you don’t allow yourself a few failures along the way.

7. Read works from writers above your mind force. Read works from established authors who have mastered the art of forging successes from failures. Don't copy them. Draw energy from their patterns and create your own custom.

8. Avoid distractions so that you won't have to procrastinate and summarily end up not writing. Ensure you write qualitatively and quantitatively. This can only be exercised when distractions have been extinguished.

9. Participate in writing contests and writing challenges. Donate your pen wittiness to charity. Write for someone.
It helps in reconfiguring your psychology.

10. Write and file your works everyday. Even if it's just a sentence. Keep building the imagery in your mind. Keep rebuilding and refurbishing. It is not hard to talk therefore it is also not hard to write.

Be illumined.

Poems For Review / Re: Childhood By Philip Lucky by WordSayer: 9:54am On Mar 21, 2019
LuckyKeys1:
Content: poem
title: Childhood

Starring at my old black and white portrait,
with beams of smile on my face,
i became nostalgic about my childhood.

A look which gluts of innocence,
and a mind filled with ignorance.
A brain rammed with untampered vision,
and void of bewilderment.

Playground became my encompassed abode,
Toys became my asset,
while playing became a thrilling task.
After a dutiful play,
an uncompromising and compulsive sleep follows.

Every folks around me depicts friendliness
and loveliness.
smiles and lovely words were my presents,
always amused and joyed at their sight.

When everything and anything seems free,
some were given without being asked for,
while some were at my disposal when needed.

Oh! how sweet were the memories of
my childhood.
Though now things of the past,
they are still fresh in my head.

ELIXIR
...

the worst kind of loneliness
is the condemnation and ostracism
that comes from being grossly misunderstood.
it can make deities lose their godhood and minds.
it can send stars falling down as fragments of rocks.
it can make planets lose their velocities around the sun.

i tell you this -
not because my soul is a dark prison;
not because my body is a hall of death;
not because my eyes and ears are schizoid -
i tell you this, dear reader and soul rebel;
because my spirit has empathised with lofty birds
who have suffered persecution for having colorful wings.
i tell you this because the universe has
filled my ears with punctured screams and hemorrhage.

this is why the misconstrued loner is sad:
his loneliness is a living being, drawing strength
from fear and memories of native rejection,
covering all orifices with untruths, utopia and pus
until death starts looking like the answer to aged prayers.

in a war, the first rule of survival is strategy.
to survive a system that orgasms on
seeing suns set at dawn, you have to sit by the sea,
as your senses perceive the magic of creation,
as your heart beats hard while the soft voice
of love whispers... slowly and fiercely:
"Fear not!"

Poems For Review / VALAR Scumulis (All Men Are Scum), A Poem By Pat Ashinze by WordSayer: 9:47am On Jan 27, 2019
VALAR SCUMULIS
'(All men are scum)'
...

since the times are surreal
and dense with misty windfalls,
we, the men will watch the sun set
and pray to the heavens as effluvium flows
from the mouths of countless goddesses.
the news; the internet and the radio
are beacons that illumine the
atrocities that have befallen the male human.
the wars; the scandals and maladaptations
are witnesses also - to the miseries
and tensions that comes with being an XY.

this is a dangerous time to be a man.
if you do not know, now is the best time to
before your name becomes a curse
in the mouths of children:
for the sins of few, all have been punished.
for the crime of one, many rods have been broken.
this is how we murder the spirit of love.
by choking it with sarcoid lies and illusions.

if you are a man, listen.
if you are a woman, open your soul
and let the wisdom of the ancients
be your compass and refuge.
there is a dark cloud hovering over humanity,
poisoning it with chaos and toxic philosophies,
killing the bearer of testosterone with
resentment and unhealthiness:
"Hate!"
