De-silting the river Niger especially in places like Onitsha may help reduce the amount of flood water that overflows from the river.

PDP is on it's last days. Only one SE state still has a PDP state government and that was only because they rigged the elections in Enugu so blatantly that even a blind man can see it. I guess these are the last throes of a redundant and disappearing party. Let us allow them to disappear peacefully. It is not that I am a fan of APC under Tinubu, political parties are irrelevant we should do away with them and adopt a similar system to what China has which is a one party state and people elect delegates that represent their regions and delegates elect governors and president. We have tried this western system of fake democracy and it doesn't work for us. |
Consider constructing some rafts from bamboo to use to move people and properties if necessary. |
Either way FG has to release funds to NEMA to enable them to swing into action. Our useless federal lawmakers who are supposed to be advocating for affected communities are busy enjoying their holiday spending N2m gifted to them for holiday enjoyment. helinues:

Warning without government assistance is not effective. In this Tinubu economy who is going to pay for transport of families and their properties to higher ground? helinues:

From previous flooding we know that all the areas along River Benue which passes through several states are affected but flooding but the worst of the floods seem to occur at Lokoja in Kogi state where the River Benue merges with River Niger and continues to flow down to Anambra and Delta states which is another area where the river Niger overflows and cause major flooding in Onitsha in Anambra state and Asaba in Delta state. Further trouble areas known are parts of Bayelsa and Edo states.

The Lagdo dam in Cameroon has been opened again floods are arriving anytime now to flood prone regions in SS and SE. No measure has been put in place to by FG or the affected state governments to prevent the flooding so it is down to us who are going to be affected to come up with plans for safeguarding our lives, properties and livelihoods . From the map below you can see that the Lagdo dam is on the right-hand side of the map a little below the Cameroonian city of Garoua . Also in the map the yellow areas are the high ground and green areas are the low ground which is along the paths of the major rivers River Benue which carries the water into Nigeria from Cameroon and River Niger which runs down south from Niger state. My own suggestions for any body in the affected zones is to immediately start moving yourselves and your families to the major bridges along the rivers as a first point of refuge. Arrange for crops that are ready to be immediately harvested and taken to high ground (bridges ) or storage. Move the contents and stock of your store and businesses to the high grounds. Why were they arrested? What crime did they commit to warrant arrest? ![]() |
I said he does not always have accurate information. Jcoleworld911: |
A hate the idea of people demolishing before they have built anything. My useless Anambra governor Soludo is very fond of destroying and demolition but to build anything is a problem for him. 18 month in still no completed infrastructure project because he has a habit of abandoning almost every project he starts. Many parts of Anambra now resemble village waste ground. |
Yangalife does not always have accurate information though he does well in making the videos. Why don't you bring the images of completed Okpoko projects here so we can see. Jcoleworld911: |
So you use Nigeria problem to insult all black people in the world? Seems you one of those pathetic racists that cannot stay away from black online forums. Simeonjoe1: |
So we not able to grow rice in Nigeria? |
Well that is the starting point. The Reps have to go an estimate the trees actually planted is equal to what the agency claims they planted. Irony is Federal lawmaker are stealing much more money from their criminally over bloated salaries they awarded themselves each of them taking home appron N1bn per annum ,which totals almost N500bn per annum and they don't even produce anything tangible for all that money. They should stat by fuming about the cost of the NAss to the nation. CSTRR: |
N4000 per tree. I guess it depends on the cost of the tree seedlings the process and labour costs it may not be too unreasonable though I suspect it could be done for a lot cheaper. There far more blatant daylight robbery that these reps should be outraged about. Like the fuel price hike and nothing to account for where all the extra revenue accrued is going. |
One lone man digging out the gutter to channel water to the river could easily be hired by the local businesses or a private individual and not necessarily the contractor (that allegedly had been dismissed by Soludo) or state govt Jcoleworld911: |
A bu m onye Anambra. I would be proud to be from Ebonyi if you see the infrastructural development that has transformed their state. In fact I plan to be based in Ebonyi. So you here saying this small 2km road project which was awarded almost a year ago is "seriously on-going" after the images I have posted? You need stop defending incompetence / scammers. Because there is a man working on the gutter those not amount to the project being on-going. Jcoleworld911:

He gaffed! He should have said he is working for Nigeria and not APC. Just exposed his mindset that is also shared by many other useless politicians. |
You are confusing Fashola for Amaechi. The previous Minister of Works was Babatunde Fashola, Amaechi was Minister of Transport until he quit in February to contest presidential primaries. helinues: |
I was briefly in Ogun state 3 years ago the condition of the Sango-Ota expressway was truly deplorable and other roads I saw were not much better. I do not know whether there has since been improvements in Ogun road infrastructure. But this thread about the current state (as of this month) of infrastructural development in my own Anambra state under our over-hyped governor Prof. Soludo. Here is more from the abandoned 2km Onitsha Main Market Road project awarded 9 months ago and abandoned recently .

When did Senate Presidents start using aeroplanes from presidential aeroplane fleet ? ![]() |
More abandoned 2km Onitsha Main Market Road project

Another possible super-story? I have learnt to first check the comments and if OP is not engaging people there, it is likely a fictional super-story. |
I real pity. Here is more of this abandoned Onitsha Main Market Rd project Ttipsy:
