We need to start using concrete technology to build roads that can last least at 30 years , just laying a thin coat of asphalt on a road is not rehabilitation but eye service. Those eye service wrong are deteriorate within a few months back to their previous poor condition or worst.

Concrete is also cheaper, but I think it may take a little longer to lay.

If Nigeria was a serious country Cameroon would not dare to be causing floods everytime they evacuate their dam. They would have find a way to evacuate it safely without causing any flooding in Nigeria.
I don't believe they tried these nonsense during General Sani Abacha era or before.

Looking at the map, it may be that Chad is prevented by higher ground from having water from the Lagdo dam directed there.

However it should be possible for Cameroon to create more outlets and channels for discharging the dam water safely inside Cameroon instead of dumping massive quantities of water into River Benue.

It has even emerged that they opened the dam on 14th August and Nigeria only learnt of this one week later.

Why don't they divert the Water into Lake Chad

I finally found a small road recently completed by Soludo but the lack of gutter de-silting and failure to build a culvert for water to pass under the road, is already washing the road away.
