CURRENT UPDATE ON THE INDIA GARRI PUZZLE
http://www.darelasisi.co.uk/2017/02/nafdac-seized-indian-garri-for.html

We would one more time like to express profound gratitude to all organisations, groups and individuals that rose in outright condemnation of the bizarre Indian garri sale in Nigeria.

Our collective and concerted efforts got the attention of NAFDAC which has gone ahead to seize the product and have proceeded for some scientific analysis of the unlicensed product. This for sure is a victory for public opinion and a model worthy of both emulation and replication in almost every sector of our National lives. It is high time we realised the power of togetherness and indeed unified action especially against the flagrant abuses of our people and the demeaning of our nation and national pride.

Let's all realise that wether good or bad, this is our one and only country, in the actual sense of the word. Let's speak out loud against anything that potends even the least of treath to our collective heritage, and existence as a people.

We believe that the task of nation building is and must be a collective task that goes beyond the activities of the few people that hold the reins of governance.

Let's join hands together and build. Nigeria can, and in fact will be great again.

What's wrong with Indian Gari? Ayahm not understanding
Alot is wrong with it.
Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava. How on earth should we be importing gari into our market? We are not encouraging our industry to grow at all. Umudike and IITA should have better technologies for the processing of cassava into gari than importing from India.

This is sincerely an absurdity of monumental proportion and a shame. Our government and regulatory agencies (if they still exist) should cover their faces in shame. I would like to ask: how much were you paid in bribe? Is this how far we are mentally bankrup? we are indeed in a big mess in this nation. Can you imagine imported garri from India now selling in shops in Nigeria and NAFDAC approve this?
Habaaaaaa Gari again? So we finally have consigned our dear country to a dumping ground for all forms of Asian mindless madness. Nigeria is the worlds largest producer of cassava for crying out loud but here we are shamelessly displaying Indian made garri not corn flakes on our shelves. Do we still have the Customs service, do we still have NAFDAC and other such regulatory agencies. This is indeed a shame, that must be condemned by all well meaning, patriotic and passionate Nigerians. We do hope that if need be these government agencies who look the other way when this poorly produced products are hauled into our nation should get set to meet Nigerians on the street in hot protest. We think that it should now be enough of this broad day light rape of our economy and our collective wealth as a nation.
In the same token, we call out on Nigerian to not just condemned this shameful act but to match such condemnation with a clear statement in action refusing to purchase such foreign made goods that Nigeria has better potential to produce. This call has become important because a great deal of Nigerians have a funny penchant for goods produced outside the shores of Nigeria even if these goods are substandard, and pose obvious threats to our health and well being. It is instructive to note that today the WHO ranks Nigeria so low on some key health indices, that our dear Nation lags behind almost all much smaller African nations.
Dear country men and women, here is a frantic and heartfelt call to redeem what is left of our national pride. Please may we all rise to condemn the importation of garri of all thing. Please let's rebroadcast this on all meddium of mass reach - ELECTRONIC and PRINT, until it arrives the corridors of decision making in this country

Farming is very fantastic thing.

In the first instance, you are assured of food which is a basic survival right. You are sure that your people will have food. Secondly, farming beyond subsistence is a good thing because you produce more food for export.

Let do agric it pays.

Complements of the season. There was a time you asked people to invest in the plantain hill project. I didn't have much then but right now, I am willing to get a land there and have my own plantain farm there. Is there still an opportunity? I look forward to your reply.

#Agribusiness is big #business. It is a business of local and #global importance, encompassing a huge range of activities that all contribute to our supply of #food and natural fibres. #Agribusiness comes into play at every stage in the #foodchain, from primary #production, to the #packaging of your favourite snack food. It is also a dynamic business that must respond to sweeping advances in #technology, to major changes in #trade and #policy, and to an ever-changing, #consumer-driven #marketplace.
