CrimeThe Woman Who Secretly Runs ISIS by worlings(op): 2:15pm On Jul 10, 2015
A captured ISIS ‘bride’ has revealed the inner workings of a women’s network that’s responsible for recruiting, spying, and enforcing sexual slavery in the so-called caliphate.

The U.S. military campaign against self-proclaimed Islamic State may be focused on the male fighters conducting attacks across Iraq and Syria. But the richest human intelligence source to fall into U.S. hands to date is the widow of a senior ISIS member. She is revealing details about the terror group’s inner workings—including the existence of a parallel women’s network within ISIS that’s responsible for recruitment, retention, intelligence, and sexual slavery in the so-called caliphate.

U.S. military personnel captured Umm Sayyaf during a May raid targeting her husband, who was also ISIS’s chief financier who went by the name de guerre Abu Sayyaf. After engaging in “hand to hand” combat with ISIS fighters, U.S. troops killed Abu Sayyaf and took his computers, cell phones, and documents that detailed how the group obtained and distributed as much as $2 million a day.

Nairaland General“indigenous Staffs Of Popular Uyo Eatery Cry Out Over Tribalism By Igbo Manager” by worlings(op): 5:56pm On Jun 20, 2015
Affected staff threaten showdown

…as serious crisis looms company

BY UBONG SAMPSON

The management of Crunches Fast Foods, a popular eatery in Uyo, capital city of Akwa Ibom State may soon be battling with serious crisis already looming within its internal confines.

This, according to information at our disposal, is owing to serious threat by some of staff, including former ones of the company who are about going public with news of several acts of ‘victimization’ on them by the Uyo branch manager whose name was given as Nkiru.

Narrating their ordeal and ugly experiences to our reporter, one former and another still working with the company, all of Akwa Ibom extraction, said the Nkiru led management has been practising a high and very glaring level of tribalism in the company, which according to them, staff of Igbo extraction are favoured above others.

Hear one of them: “it is not yet confirmed if this tribalism is practised so conspicuously in other branches, but speaking from my own experiences, I can rightly say that the case in Uyo branch is so terrible”.

The Crave and Craze for success has given birth to innumerable Jacks. I mean “Jack-of-all trades. This situation has robbed our world of geniuses. I discovered after being observant that a contemporary Jack knows one thing about everything while a genius at all times knows everything about just one thing. In other words, a genius is a specialist, which of course makes him more valuable and successful than a “Jack”.

The difference between “J” and “G” is simply single-mindedness. Dr. Emmanuel Etuk articulates this point in his book, Recipe for Success thus, “if you desire to succeed in life and leave your mark or influence, you must be single-minded”. A renowned writer John Mason adds, “If you chase two rabbits, you lose both of them”. This underscores the value of single-mindedness in the race for success.

RomanceShe Choosed To Fake It; Isio Knows Better by worlings(op): 11:42am On Jun 16, 2015
I noticed off the bat that something was wrong with Caroline when I met her at her house.
First of all, we were supposed to go out for lunch when she called me that morning to cancel unexpectedly. She wasn’t up to leaving the house- and asked if I could come over instead? I had no problems with that. I brought the ingredients to cook jollof rice and beamed my “hellooooo” when she opened the door.

Almost immediately, I noticed something was different with her. She was… walking funny, and when she tried to sit down, she angled her hips so that she landed on the chair with the side of her bum.

“Caroline, what’s wrong? Are you alright?” I asked her.

She winced as she got up. She couldn’t even walk straight to and from the kitchen.

“Why are you walking like that?” I questioned her, chuckling.

A BBC investigation has seen evidence that details what happened to the $10m sent from Fifa to accounts controlled by former vice-president Jack Warner.

The money, sent on behalf of South Africa, was meant to be used for its Caribbean diaspora legacy programme.
But documents suggest Mr Warner used the payment for cash withdrawals, personal loans and to launder money.
The 72-year-old, who has been indicted by the US FBI for corruption, denies all claims of wrongdoing.

After having showcased some early details about FIFA 16, including the fact that it would feature, for the first time ever, female soccer players, Electronic Arts is preparing to share more details next week, on June 15, during its own E3 2015 press event.

However the following is a list of personal development areas to improve in your life. This is an high level list of areas to improve. Each element is equally important to improve your life. The American Psychological Association had said that, if every human were to constantly work on each of those listed development areas below, 95% of human problems would be gone.

HEALTH
This area is about your body. Developing good health means to eat properly, exercise and stretch your body. Having good health is probably the most important thing you can improve in your life. Start by going out and exercise every day, I recommend to do at least 15 minutes of it every day. After that, when you feel comfortable you can move to 30 minutes a day. It’s important that you work both on your strength (body building, crossfit) and in your endurance (jogging, bicycle, etc.). As long as you make the habit of working out each day, start to follow a diet. There are literally thousands of diet plans available. PoliticsAPC GOV. Candidate Akwa Ibom - The Elections Cannot Be Forgotten For Me by worlings(op): 8:55am On Jun 06, 2015
Obong Umana Umana, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the recent governorship election in Akwa Ibom State in this interview reviews the conduct of the election and the options before him. Excerpts:

Elections have come and gone. Is it a forgotten matter?

The elections cannot be forgotten for me and the good people of Akwa Ibom State. We are challenging the outcome of the purported governorship, State House of Assembly and the National Assembly elections at the tribunals.

But some are asking why don’t you do like the PDP presidential candidate and congratulate the declared winner of the election?
I would have been happy to do so if we had had valid elections and the election had been properly conducted under the terms and conditions stipulated by law. But that was far from being the case in Akwa Ibom because what we witnessed were elections that were characterised by widespread violence. Over 30 persons were killed and there were gross irregularities.

SUSTAINING SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE

Protocol

We have come together not to celebrate the triumph of a party, but to celebrate the victory of hope. The inspired hope that there is a divine promise, which binds us together in cords of love and brotherhood. Hope that the blades and daggers of politics can never break the bonds of our kinship. Hope that on this majestic occasion of the transition of power, signifying a glorious end as well as a hopeful beginning, we can renew our faith in the Akwa Ibom dream.
When our ancestors left Usakedit in the Cameroons, centuries ago, in search of better land, they bequeathed into the genes of every Akwa Ibom person a dream of a better estate. In search of a better estate, our forefathers became the first people to agitate for the creation of States in Nigeria. In search of a better estate, they became the first people to build community schools in our country. in search of a better estate, they became the first people to establish community scholarship schemes to educate their children. Today, in search of better estate, we have, under the transformational leadership of His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio, become first among equals in the comity of state in our country.

ComputersThings To Consider When Buying A Laptop by worlings(op): 2:33pm On May 20, 2015
Looking to acquiring a new laptop? There are so many options out there that trying to find the right one can get confusing fast. With a little planning and consideration of your needs, you can quickly eliminate the vast majority of laptops from your search and focus on finding the one that suits your habits and budget perfectly. lets take a look at the following considerations below.
1: Determining Your Needs
– Think about your main uses for a laptop. The main purpose of your laptop will be the biggest influence on the type of laptop you get. People use computers for countless reasons, but general use falls into one of the following categories. Keep these in mind when you are looking at laptops:
Office/Schoolwork – Mostly use the computer for word processing, research, spreadsheets, and other professional and academic tasks.
Games – Playing the latest and greatest games, but still using the computer for other tasks as well.
Web use – Primarily using the computer to access websites, email, streaming video, and social media.
Media production – Use the computer as a workstation to record music, edit video, or manipulate images.
Understand the pros of a laptop. There are a lot of reasons you might want to pick a laptop over a desktop computer. As laptops become more powerful, the reasons for owning a desktop will continue to shrink.
A laptop is portable. This is the primary reason for purchasing a laptop. Laptops can go almost anywhere you can, and they’re only getting lighter and thinner.
Laptops can perform more and more tasks that desktops can. There are very few programs these days that a desktop can run that a laptop cannot. While you’re generally sacrificing some performance for portability, you still have the ability to perform most computing tasks.
Laptops can save a lot of space. A desktop computer, with a tower, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, can take up a lot of space in your home office or bedroom. A laptop just needs a little desk space.

PoliticsThe Wide Gap Between The Rich And Poor In Nigeria Is Worrisome – Ben Murray Bruc by worlings(op): 12:03pm On May 20, 2015
Media mogul and senator-elect, Ben Murray Bruce has stated that he is fighting the elite because they consume the resources of the country at the expense of the poor.
Bruce, who is known to champion the cause of the masses, noted that it is absurd that a few elected officers monopolise the resources of the country, living a champagne life while majority of Nigerians live below a dollar a day.
“I am fighting against the elite. Definitely, I am fighting them. When they drink that champagne that can educate a child, they should know that I am fighting them. You don’t fly a first class in government while in your private life, you fly economy. I am totally against their lifestyles,” he said in an interview with Vanguard.
The chairman of Silverbird Group added that the level of poverty and unemployment in the country is devastating and more worrisome is the wide gap between the rich and the poor.

Car TalkHow To Create A Monthly Maintenance Check For Your Car by worlings(op): 11:00am On May 02, 2015
Keeping your car maintained can help prevent costly repairs, but remembering the maintenance can be difficult. Having a car maintenance checklist can help you keep track of the different fluids and parts you need to keep an eye on. A checklist should be easy to use and keep. This article will tell you how to create a monthly maintenance check for your car.

1. Find a checklist format that is right for you. The simplest checklist is a paper list that you can write yourself or get from an oil-change service center. Store your list in a safe place.
– Other options you can consider are electronic versions that you can download or make on your computer, cell phone or other device. Most pre-made lists have all the information you need on them. You can locate checklists at various websites. Here are a few you can get from the web for your computer or phone: Car maintenance checklist http://www.aa-ownercenter.com/pdf/OC_WKST_maintenanceChecklist.pdf.

2. Find spreadsheet templates at http://www.uncommonwaytowealth.com/excel-finance-spreadsheets/car-maintenance-schedule-spreadsheet/.

You can use these templates or model them to create your own personal maintenance logs or schedules in databases or spreadsheets.

3. Look in your vehicle’s owner’s manual for the items you need to check monthly if you are making your own list. Many manuals list what needs to be checked and when.

4. If your manual does not list what needs to be checked, ask your oil-change technician or follow the guidelines below:

Your oil, belts, hoses, coolant, and tires should all be examined in a monthly check. You should also inspect your windshield wipers and filters, unless specified otherwise for your vehicle.

FashionHow To Look Pretty And Well Groomed Without Makeup (for Guys And Girls) by worlings(op): 9:57am On Apr 30, 2015
Either because you’re not allowed to wear makeup for being too young, or simply because you don’t want to wear makeup, this article is going to teach girls how to look really attractive without needing to wear makeup, and also made for boys that wonder how male movie stars can look so good (even though many of them do wear makeup), but don’t want to worry about using makeup to achieve the cool and polished look.

1. Sleep well and drink lots of water. This is an overused tip, but very true and could not be missed. Whenever you go sleep earlier and have a good night of comfortable sleep, you wake up with minimal to no under eye darkness or bags at all. Drinking water also keeps skin hydrated and gives your face a healthier and clear look. Just try drinking two glasses of water at morning, two at afternoon and two at evening. It’s a good way to start getting used to drinking lots of water daily.

2. Have great hygiene habits. Wash your face at least three times a day, but pay attention to the way you wash your face. Most people think that quickly rubbing soap against the face, rinsing it off and rubbing the towel on skin is enough, but they’re wrong. You need the technique to master perfect cleansing routine. The key is to massage your wet face with soap until your whole face is covered by the foam. Massage in circular motions, so the soap deeply cleanses your pores. Then, rinse off the water and pat-dry your skin with the towel, so it dries your skin and keeps it clear and healthy, instead irritating it and causing darker spots or scars like rubbing the towel does.

3. Perfect your eyebrows. Eyebrows frame your eyes and can make or break them, as well as your whole face. That’s not only a girl thing, it’s for both boys and girls. Don’t over-pluck them or you might look weird, but do clear them up with tweezers. Pluck the hairs between the brows and pluck the hairs that create shadows around the main brow area. Groom it by wetting your brows a bit with water, then brushing the hairs upwards with a wet brow brush, and then outwards. Dry the surroundings of your brows with the tip of your fingers and there you have perfectly-groomed brows. For boys that don’t have a brow brush, you can use the toothbrush trick. You may want to buy one separated toothbrush to use as your personal brow brush. There are several beauty tricks for when you lack a tool, so why not use this little hack?

4. The always effective talcum/baby powder trick. If you tend to have oily skin, a great trick that frees you from having to go for makeup is wearing talcum/baby powder. You can either use a large powder brush or a small cloth for it. If you use a powder brush, apply a small bit of baby powder on it, tap off the excess and gently apply on your T-zone and around your eyes. If you’re using a cloth, just apply a bit of baby powder on it, gently tap off the excess and dot on your T-zone and around your eyes, then pat all over to blend. It makes your skin look smoother and absorbs oil, and it’s a natural option to makeup.

5. Take care of your lips. Having healthy-looking lips makes you look more attractive. Massage your lips with soap to make them very clean, exfoliate them with your toothbrush and use chapstick or other lip balms to give them a moisturised look. Boys can wear it too!

6. Treat your hair. See what’s in style for hair trends for boys and girls. Get your hair a cut that fits well your personality, your face shape and your hair type. Also, deep condition it every once in a while, use leave-in conditioners or pomades to style and, if you want to color it, choose a flattering hue. Hair helps frame your face, and will make you look even more attractive.

7. Take care of your body. Eat healthy food and don’t eat too large portions in your meals. If you are overweight, try cutting your meal portions in half. Also, exercise daily. You can start with a few repetitions of an specific exercise and start doing more everyday until you reach a fitter body. Exercising makes you feel better, more active and way more attractive.

8. Dress well. Read on magazines and internet about what type of clothes are in style, check your favorite stars and see what type of pieces they’re wearing. You can buy a really cool shirt and jeans for low price and make them look as good as a designer’s piece.

9. Have good posture. It just makes you look more confident and, consequently, more attractive as well.

HealthTips To Help Eliminate Body Odour by worlings(op): 7:27am On Apr 27, 2015
Pretty much everyone gets worried about their body odour at some point or another. Who hasn’t done the (hopefully) subtle armpit check? Fortunately there are ways that you can find fast relief, as well as steps you can take to become more hygienic and eliminate body odor for good. Lets lets look at few things to consider.

1. Wash your body. If you find that you are a bit smelly, hop in the shower if you have the time. Body odor is created by bacteria that cause you to smell, so rinsing your body (and the part that smells worst in particular) can help to give rid of the smell quickly. However, it’s important to use soap or an antibacterial detergent when you wash yourself, rather than just rinsing with water.
When you shower, focus on your underarms and your feet, as those are two of the biggest body odor areas.

2. Apply an over-the-counter antiperspirant. Antiperspirants form a block using certain chemicals (like aluminum) against sweating and perspiration, which helps to eliminate body odor. Many of these antiperspirants last all day, but you may need to reapply, especially if you’ve been doing something like exercising.
– Unlike a deodorant, antiperspirants actually eliminate the perspiration, while deodorant simply masks the smell.
– There has been a lot of talk about whether antiperspirants that contain aluminum cause breast cancer, or Alzheimer’s, but medical research has never adequately proven a link between the two (or between breast cancer and parabens), so it should be safe to use.

ComputersSnap Power Introduces Coverplate(wall Socket) USB Charger by worlings(op): 6:17pm On Apr 03, 2015
The days of having to wire up a complete replacement outlet to add a USB charging port will soon be long gone.

The same folks behind the SnapRays Guidelight, a replacement cover that added night lights to almost any outlet in your home without wiring, is back with an even better product. Their new SnapPower Charger cover can be installed on any outlet, but instead of lights it adds a USB port for charging your electronics.

The SnapPower Charger is simply a replacement cover plate featuring a pair of metal prongs that reach around an existing outlet and make contact with the screws holding its electrical wiring in place. Once the cover plate is snapped on and screwed into place so it’s secure, the USB port instantly has power.

It’s a brilliantly simple solution to the annoying problem of having to hunt down a power adapter when you want to just charge a gadget. And while the creators of the SnapPower Charger could easily charge a premium for their new product (and still sell millions) they’re instead going the Kickstarter route and asking just $16 (or $12 for early birds) to pre-order one. They’re even cheaper if you buy them in multi-packs, and are available in three different colors and two different styles. If you’ve never donated to a Kickstarter project before, this will probably be your first.

The crowdfunding campaign is hoping to raise a modest $35,000 to take SnapPower Charger from the working prototype to the consumer-ready stage, and as far as risk goes, the folks behind it have already brought the original version of the product to market with incredibly positive reviews on Amazon. So if everything goes smoothly, you could be replacing every outlet cover plate in your home with these as soon as August, without having to spend a dime on an electrician.

SnapPower Charger Overview

Powerful 1-amp USB charger built into an outlet cover plate.
Charges any USB device (phones, phablets, tablets, hotspots, etc.) and eliminates the need for bulky wall warts.
Installs in seconds over any standard outlet in your home.
There’s no wiring to mess with, and no batteries to sort out. Just bring a screwdriver and a good attitude.
For renters, this solution provides convenient wall charging that can be taken with you when you move. If you move out, just pop the old cover back on.

American president, Barack Obama in a video posted on Youtube today by US Embassy inNigeria, sent a message to Nigerians ahead of their 2015 elections.

He asked them to highlight the opportunity that the upcoming elections present for all Nigerians to stand together in rejecting violence and extremism and instead show their support for a more peaceful, secure, and prosperous future.

Hello. Today, I want to speak directly to you—the people of Nigeria. Nigeria is a great nation and you can be proud of the progress you’ve made. Together, you won your independence, emerged from military rule, and strengthened democratic institutions. You’ve strived to overcome division and to turn Nigeria’s diversity into a source of strength. You’ve worked hard to improve the lives of your families and to build the largest economy in Africa.
Now you have a historic opportunity to help write the next chapter of Nigeria’s progress—by voting in the upcoming elections. For elections to be credible, they must be free, fair and peaceful.

CelebritiesD-one Is Too Strict; Says Wife by worlings(op): 9:12pm On Mar 23, 2015
HOW do you feel when your husband openly refers to you as his partner?

I feel very wonderful and I will say there is nothing more than a husband appreciating his wife and openly acknowledging same. What you mean to him and how he perceives you, go a long way. We women don’t actually ask for much. We only ask for the commitment and the assurance from our husbands, that, ‘Look, you mean a lot to me and I love you so much, thank you for tolerating me.’ With that, what else can you ask or wish for? So, I am very happy and I am very privileged to be alive with my whole family. It is a God-given privilege.

But then, why do you think your husband shows open admiration for you?

Yes, he openly says that I am a strong force in his life, but I don’t think I am that force really. God is the force behind our union. He is the ultimate force for the career of my husband; I am just the vessel He uses to achieve that great aim in D-One’s life. Of course, I support my husband hundred percent. I support him to achieve anything legitimate that will keep him going strong as the head of our family. I adore him as my head crown and the patriarch of our family. He is my husband and my role as his wife is to support him and give him all it takes for him to manage the pressure of running the home front. I think I am very fulfilled to have been described that way. But ultimately, God is the founding Father of our love life. Our appreciation goes to Him.

He recently went into politics, did you support his decision and were you not afraid that politics is a dirty game?

Like I said earlier, I will continue to support my husband in any decision he takes, if it is not to rob or steal. If it is to serve his people and add his knowledge to the development of humanity, why not? Why won’t I support him to work and serve this family as the head of the family? I think I will do well supporting him. When he was going into politics, I was the first person he shared the experience with. He didn’t just go into politics, he was called upon to serve by his people and he was convinced that his presence was needed. Severally, during our campaign activities in Odogbolu, people were treating us like stars. It was like a great homecoming and I couldn’t believe for a second that a people will so much cherish change like that. So, I feel honoured that D-One is my better half. My husband is a loveable personality and that is one thing that has worked for him so far. He is a leader in all ramifications; I am his number one fan and anything I can do to support him, I do.

And talking about politics being a dirty game, politics is not dirty; it is the attitude that people bring into it that makes it dirty. My husband contested for a position in his constituency and because he respected constituted authority, when he was asked to step down, he did. But he was never dirty about it. He continued to support the party and because of his genuine intention for quality leadership, he was appointed as a member of the Media and Publicity Committee for His Excellency, Governor Ibikunle Amosun. That alone speaks loud of his philosophy. He has been able to define politics and change the perception about how it is being played. Politics is not dirty; it is the attitude that people bring to it, that gives it a negative or positive colour.

CelebritiesGospel Artiste Rhymestar Ray Ekwu Gets Assaulted By Soldiers by worlings(op): 6:33pm On Mar 20, 2015
As one of the popular comedians in Nigeria once said, “the fear of Soldiers is the beginning of wisdom”. Well, these seems to be true as one of the popular Abuja based gospel musician RhymeStar Ray Ekwu was beaten up last night by two soldiers on mufty for wearing camouflage shorts.

He said he was coming back from seeing off a friend when the men accosted him. He said they slapped and beat him with their hands and belt which resulted in him sustaining injuries. He was later treated at a nearby hospital where he submitted himself for proper medical checkup incase of internal bleeding.

The abuse of civilians by soldiers for wearing camouflage keeps occurring everyday, but very few of them make the news as the soldiers always get away with their barbaric act.
