In the matter of Suit No: PHC/1320/CS/2024 concerning the tenure elongation of Rivers State Local Government Chairmen, there has been a troubling development. Justice Daketima Gabriel Kio of the Rivers State High Court, who presided over this case, has yet to release the full judgement, despite having already read and acknowledged the judgement handed to him by his paymaster. This delay in releasing the judgement is not only unwarranted but also legally and ethically problematic.

Hon. Collins Ordu Lambasts Daniel Bwala Over Provocative Comments On Wike It's always disheartening to watch individuals who lack the ability to take responsibility for their actions. This is the exact situation with Daniel Bwala, an adviser to HE Atiku Abubakar GCON who has been ranting against the person of H.E (Barr. ) Dr Nyesom Wike CON, GSSRS, POS Africa, LIFE Bencher and THE DOYEN OF INFRASTRUCTURE in Nigeria( on life programs where he talked out of context.) Firstly, let's get the facts straight. H.E (Barr.) E. N. Wike, CON, never worked in NURTW. Daniel Bwala's ranting is a reflection of the fact that Nigerians don't practice consequence management. The likes of Bwala kept giving Alh Atiku hope until he lost a golden and irretrievable opportunity to be president. Since Bwala has erred in advising HE Atiku and caused his monumental failure, one would have assumed that he would have learnt his lesson and be respectful to individuals of great stature like H.E (Barr. ) Dr Nyesom Wike CON. Instead, Bwala is still putting up criminal boldness to speak evil of an individual who has caused him no harm. It is only sensible that Daniel Bwala should be remorseful for the unsolicited and wrong advice he dished out to HE Atiku. But shamelessly, he still babbles negative statements about a man that has nothing to do with his shortcomings. I believe it's time Bwala retraced his steps, toned down the excessive pride he's displaying, and appeal to Nigerians and PDP for pardon. It is unethical and unprofessional to throw shade on someone who has earned great respect across the country and beyond. Nyesom Wike deserves utmost respect, and if Bwala has nothing good to say about him, silence would be the best course of action. In conclusion, it's high time individuals learnt to be accountable for their actions and take full responsibility for any negative outcomes. Daniel Bwala needs to put his ego in check, apologize for his errors, and keep mute when he has nothing good to offer Nigerians. Hon. Collins Ordu is a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly who represented Obio/Akpor Constituency I in the 6th Assembly. Hon Collins Ordu Fmr, Rivers State House of Assembly member

Sir Siminalayi Joseph Fubara, GSSRS Executive Governor of Rivers State Appeal for Intervention and Completion of Facilities at Community Secondary School, Okporo I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. On behalf of Okporo Community, I write to bring to your kind attention a matter of utmost importance regarding the completion of the facilities at Community Secondary School, Okporo. First and foremost, I would like to express our profound gratitude for the commendable efforts put forth by the Rivers State Government in the construction/rehabilitation of Community Secondary School in Okporo. The development and growth of our society greatly depend on education, and your government's initiative in investing in education deserves appreciation. However, it has come to our attention that despite the construction/rehabilitation work, several essential facilities that were planned for the project, such as Ceiling Fans/Air Conditioning units, reliable Power Supply, and a proper Water supply system, are yet to be put in place. These facilities are vital for creating a conducive learning environment for the pupils of Community Secondary School, Okporo. Therefore, we humbly appeal to your esteemed office to intervene and allocate resources to complete the pending facilities at the school. We kindly request that you consider sending your Commissioner for Works or any relevant Special Adviser to revisit the school and assess the situation. Their expertise and guidance would greatly contribute to expediting the completion of this crucial project. Furthermore, we implore the Rivers State Government to address this challenge before the resumption of school. Failing to provide these facilities would significantly hinder the learning experience of the students. It is of paramount importance that we equip our young minds with a well-rounded and nurturing environment so that they can thrive academically. In conclusion, Sir, we humbly urge you, as the visionary leader of Rivers State, to prioritize the completion of the facilities at Community Secondary School, Okporo. Your prompt action in this matter will not only uplift the educational standards in our community but also contribute to the overall development and growth of our society. Thank you for your attention and consideration. We remain confident in your commitment towards the betterment of Rivers State, and we eagerly look forward to witnessing the fruition of this appeal. Signed : Barr. Evans Amadi CDC Chairman, Oha Okporo-Okwurusi Clan Council. 7th, September, 2023.

Allow the PEPT Judges Breathe, Don't suffocate them! To whom it may concern, I write this open letter today to defend the honorable members of the Nigeria Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) who are tirelessly working to uphold justice and ensure the truth prevails in our great nation. It is disheartening to witness the relentless attempts by the supporters of Peter Obi and Atiku to hinder the proceedings of the PEPT and question the integrity of the judges. In any democratic society, an election is a crucial process that determines the future of a nation. It is a time when citizens exercise their right to choose their leaders. However, with this freedom comes the possibility of winners and losers. We must understand and accept this fundamental aspect of democracy. The PEPT, being an impartial body, was established to ensure that all aspects of the election process are thoroughly examined. Their role is not to favor any particular candidate, but rather to ensure that due process is followed and the rule of law prevails. It is their duty to critically analyze the facts, assess the evidence, and deliver a just judgment. It is highly unfair and unjust to manipulate public opinion, engage in smear campaigns, or resort to blackmail in an attempt to sway the verdict of the PEPT. The judges on this panel deserve the freedom to conduct their work without intimidation or bias. Their expertise, experience, and legal knowledge are their greatest assets in delivering a fair judgment. Furthermore, it is essential to remember that the judgment of the PEPT does not mark the end of the legal process. If any party is dissatisfied with the decision, they have every right to appeal the judgment through the appropriate legal channels. This is a civilized approach that acknowledges the importance of the rule of law and respects the judicial system. We are all eagerly awaiting the judgment of the PEPT on Wednesday, 6th of September, 2023. For the sake of our democracy and the credibility of our electoral system, let us trust in the wisdom and integrity of the judges who have been entrusted with this responsibility. Let us respect their decision, even if it is not to our liking, and uphold the principles of due process. I implore all Nigerians to refrain from taking to the streets in protest or inciting violence based on the outcome of the presidential election review. Violence has never solved any issue, and it will only hinder our progress as a united nation. Choose a peaceful path, exercise your right to appeal through legal means, and let justice be served. In conclusion, I call upon all citizens to respect the sanctity of our judiciary and the role of the PEPT. Allow the honorable judges to carry out their duties without the suffocating presence of blackmail or harassment. We must remember that Nigeria's future and the democratic values we hold dear depend on the fair and just functioning of our institutions. Yours sincerely, Worlu Godspower Irogbum

In a shocking turn of events, two Nigerian former Chicken Republic guards who were sent to Cyprus on a church-sponsored study program have resorted to attacking the very person who generously offered them this opportunity. Allegedly claiming that Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere, the pastor who sent them, had been utilizing their "star" to fund his acquisition of private jets, their actions expose a severe lack of gratitude, integrity, and morality. Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere, a respected church leader, graciously extended financial support to these individuals, providing them with the means to enhance their education abroad. Such an opportunity is often a life-changing experience that opens doors to better opportunities, strengthening individuals both personally and professionally. However, instead of embracing their good fortune, these individuals have chosen to turn against their benefactor, tarnishing his reputation and casting aspersions upon his character. The act of betrayal undertaken by the two former Chicken Republic guards is not only deeply disheartening but also ethically questionable. By attacking Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere, they demonstrate a complete disregard for the goodwill he bestowed upon them. Instead of showing gratitude and working towards making the most of their opportunity, they have used their newfound platform to make baseless accusations, potentially causing irreparable harm to the pastor's reputation. For these individuals to now claim that Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere has used their "star" to purchase private jets is not only absurd but also disrespectful. It is crucial to distinguish between ambition and opportunism, a distinction these individuals have seemingly blurred. Their actions reflect a sense of entitlement and a lack of gratitude, as they appear to have forgotten that the financial support they received was a privilege, not an entitlement. The impact of such an act of betrayal goes beyond mere personal conflicts, as it risks undermining an individual's trust in philanthropic endeavors. When church leaders or any individuals engage in acts of goodwill, they do so based on the belief that they are genuinely helping others. The betrayal displayed in this instance threatens to deter others from extending a helping hand, diminishing the potential positive impact a community can have when working together. Integrity is the foundation of any society. It ensures fairness, trust, and accountability. By attacking Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere, these former guards have violated these principles, damaging the moral fabric of the community. It is essential to condemn such acts to preserve the trust and goodwill that forms the basis of our society. The reprehensible act of these two Nigerian former Chicken Republic guards, who attacked the very pastor who financially supported their studies in Cyprus, is an alarming display of ingratitude and betrayal. Casting aspersions upon Apostle Chibuzor Chiyere's character, they have undermined the trust and integrity that binds our society together. It is crucial for people to recognize and condemn such acts, emphasizing the significance of empathy, gratitude, and moral values in our shared humanity. " Real leadership is being the person others will gladly and confidently follow."~ John C.Maxwell Maxwell's postulation above simply describes the member representing Akuku-Toru Constituency II in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon.(Barr.) Lolo Isaiah Opuende Esq. Since your emergence in the political scene, you have left no one in doubt about your vision and mission in public service, which is anchored on service to humanity. Beyond your astute representation, one secret that has kept you endeared to your people is your constant keeping in touch with them and politicians must learn this model from you if they desire to leave good legacies as representatives of the people. He attaches much premium to his relationship with others, regardless of their class. Lolo treats whoever he meets with respect and love, and does not underestimate anyone irrespective of social status ,age ,religion or ethnic affiliations. Lolo is a man who does not care to know what part of the country one comes from. He spreads his acts of benevolence to whoever needs his assistance. Such detribalised individual makes the society a better place to live in. As a bridge-builder, he is not only a man of peace, he also upholds the philosophy of love sharing among the people. He is someone who could mediate practically in any dispute by not just bringing humour but also light and direction. More than one year into his tenure, Hon.(Barr.) Lolo Isaiah Opuende has indeed been making waves as a Legislator par excellence. He is calm, well-defined gentleman, and detribalised personality.

×as Court of Appeal strikes out evidences
against security agents, alleged political thugs
*dismisses Rivers APC’s application to change
Court of Appeal panel for a fresh panel to hear
appeal on Tribunal’s Judgement
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Thursday
expunged from Judicial records of the Rivers
State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal all
the evidences against named and un-named
security agents and named and un-named
political thugs in the petition filed by the Rivers
State APC Governorship Candidate, Mr Dakuku
Peterside against the election of Governor
Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Also on Thursday, the Court of Appeal dismissed
an application by the Rivers State APC asking
the President of the Court of Appeal to
constitute a New Panel to hear the appeal that
would flow from the judgment of the Justice
Suleiman Ambrosa-led Rivers State Governorship
Election Petition Tribunal.
The Rivers State APC had appealed an
interlocutory ruling of the Rivers State
Governorship Election Petition Tribunal wherein
all the evidences against named and un-named
security agents and named and un-named
political thugs were struck out from the records
of the tribunal because the Rivers State APC
failed to join the said security agents and
political thugs in their petition.
The tribunal, however, took into consideration
the evidences against the security agents and
alleged political thugs in their judgement, relying
on them despite the earlier interlocutory ruling of
the tribunal.
Today’s session of the Court of Appeal was
Presided over by Justice Datti Yahaya JCA while
Justice Tanim Yusuf (JCA) and Justice
Mustapha Mohammed (JCA ) were members of
the panel.
According to the Court of Appeal, evidences that
were led against security agents and political
thugs whether named and un-named in the
course of the hearing of the petition filed by the
Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate against
the election of Governor Wike where the said
security agents and alleged political thugs were
not joined as parties should be struck out.
The Court of Appeal further directed that all the
criminal allegations contained in the petition
against the said security agents and alleged
political thugs be expunged as they had no
opportunity to defend themselves at the tribunal
.
The Court held that in cases where criminal
allegations are made against institutions, agents
and individuals, they were expected to be joined
as parties to the suit.
On the application brought by the Rivers State
APC asking the President of the Court of Appeal
to constitute a New Panel to hear the appeal on
the Justice Suleiman Ambrosa-led Rivers State
Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Counsel
to to the PDP, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN,
urged the Court to disregard the application as it
was tantamount to disqualifying itself from
hearing the appeal for no just reason.
Counsel to Governor Wike, Mr Osima Ginah said
the application for the re-constitution of the
Appeal Court Panel via a letter written by the
Rivers State APC on October 28,2015 and
brought to the attention of the Court on
Thursday should be dismissed by the court.
It would be recalled that Justice Suleiman
Ambrosa had in his judgment at the Rivers State
Governorship Election Petition Tribunal relied
copiously on the testimonies of soldiers, mobile
policemen and DSS operatives who alleged
electoral crimes in the course of the April 11
governorship election in the state.
Counsel to Governor Wike, Mr Osima Ginah
addressing journalists after the judgement
declared that the Court of Appeal judgment
implies that all statements credited to the said
security agents will be expunged from the
records of the tribunal and will no longer form
part of the appeal process.
Mr Ginah said that today’s judgment of the Court
of Appeal has strengthened the case of Governor
Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the second leg Rivers
State APC petition has been pulled out, pointing
out that the other pillar of their case, the card
reader accreditation is no longer tenable
following decisions by Superior Courts on the
matter. |

Justice Muazu Pindiga, the former chairman of
the Rivers state governorship petitions tribunal
who was removed under questionable
circumstances has spoken up about the ordeal
he went through just before he was dismissed as
judge of the tribunal.
According to Premium Times News, Pindiga
availed that two weeks before he was dismissed,
he was threatened. He also revealed that soon
after, there was an attempt to bribe him and
later on he was sacked.
He said: “Two weeks before I was removed as
chairman of the Tribunal, I got a call from an
unknown number, asking for an appointment for
us to meet in Kaduna. And I asked, what for?
“And the caller said, it’s on a need to know
basis. That the details of the meeting would be
made known to me in Kaduna. And I declined.
“The next was a call from the DSS, saying they
were all expecting me at meeting in Kaduna. And
demanded why I turned down the appointment.
And I said, I’m a chairman of a Tribunal, and do
not have the luxury to attend meetings.
Especially one without an agenda.
“And the caller from DSS said there was a
petition of fraud against me, in a case I handled
in Kaduna in 2009. And I asked him to charge me
accordingly, in line with the extant laws.
“I was called again by another caller; who
apologised to me, on behalf of the DSS. And
offered to compensate me for the harassment I
received from the DSS, and rescheduled another
meeting, in Kaduna. And I declined again.
“And the next was a letter removing me as the
Chairman of the Rivers State governorship
petitions tribunal, and replacing me with Justice
Ambrosa. As is the practice, I offered to brief
Justice Ambrosa, on the proceedings so far, but
he said that won’t be necessary that he has
been following the case.
“Now, on the judgement delivered by Justice
Ambrosa; it will be unethical and unprofessional
to denigrate, or condemn the judgement of a
contemporary colleague.
“However, the Supreme Court has said, that for
an election to be annulled, the petitioner has to
prove that elections didn’t hold at the polling
units, where the winner was returned elected.
And I’m not sure that the Ambrosa’s judgement |
