LegitBachelor: Guys, I'm now in the States
I entered the States (Dallas Fort Worth) with a one way flight. Was anticipating having issues with the airlines and was ready for them. Was ready to lecture them on what K1 Visa means, lol. But I didn't have any issues at all.
I made sure my medical envelope was in my backpack. When we arrived, I was directed straight to the CBP guys who took the envelope and tore it right in my very eyes. I was directed to a room to wait. I met like 5 guys there. After a while, it was my turn and they gave me back my passport along with a yellow form (I think it's for agric quarantine) and took me straight to the luggage section where I'm to claim my luggage. Was told to go straight to the agric section once I get my luggage.
Luckily my luggage was not searched. Was only asked if I came with fresh seeds which I said no. I only had processed food which have been partly cooked and/or grounded. So they just passed my luggage through an X-ray machine and let me go.
And that was it! My finacee was waiting for me on the other end. It was so emotional for me.
Thanks guys for the active participation. I promise to still keep in touch. This visa journey is a continuous one. Will always keep you all updated. I enjoin us to do the same too.
Regards. Which sealed medical result did you travel with? I thought that is to be handed over to them at interview. Congratulations!!! |

sisiorente: The confirmation code or Barcode on the DS-160 form It must match with the appointment confirmation code I don't have that on my appointment confirmation page. How long did it take the Embassy to respond to your email to rectify that? Secondly, is it my fault for not having the DS160 bar code on my appointment confirmation page? |

sisiorente: Hello Everyone.
Thanks so much for all your responses, support and advice. I finally got my packet yesterday. God Bless you all.
Meanwhile, I discovered that the Code on my DS-160 is different from my Appointment confirmation page. I sent a mail to them this morning and they responded immediately that they have rectified it. I logged in now but I dont know how to reprint my appointment confirmation page since its not giving me the option. Please help. Thanks so much. Please what code are you referring to? |

Angela777: Ah, ok. I was fixing my fiance photo myself, got a good big high resolution photo of him and his baby and made the white background, centered the face and fixed the size exactly what is needed (not retouching the face, it's prohibited). I am also sure in Lagos there is a photography studio taking photos to American standards, somewhere close to the embassy but even them sometimes don't do it right. Ask around, good photographer or a graphic designer will do. Thanks dear. |

Angela777: Any photo will do, any plaza, shopping center, eating out together, walking on the street or relaxing in the hotel, you don't need too many. The most important is your fiance(e) Nigerian visa, arrival stamps in the passport, hotel receipt, these documents are more valid for to show the evidence you met and also your fiance(e) better stays longer time or even visit 2-3 times, it shows your fiance(e) really in love, more time together is better. Pls I'm referring to pass port photograph. I don't know my way around Lagos so I need directions on where to take pass port photograph as specified by the U.S. embassy. |

Go ahead and schedule your interview immediately, then have your fiance email the embassy requesting for k1 packet. They give prompt response to emails from their citizens. |

Sisiorente, you do not need to fill a new ds160 form. you did the right thing by entering your receipt number. Keep checking for avaliable interview dates and make sure you schedule when the calendar opens. If you keep waiting for the embassy, you'll wait forever. |

Where you met vs How you met means same thing to me depending on the context in which it is used. If the CO asks you "so where did you meet" it can mean how did you meet.
In this case, the interviewer wants to know how the both of you came to know each other. I believe the best way to answer this question is to briefly describe how you met and then when you finally met in person. I stand to be corrected though. |

The question "where did you meet your fiance" and "how did you meet your fiance " can be confusing and throw one off balance. |

With regard to the question about sending evidence of intent to marry, it is pertinent to know that wet signature is not required anymore. You can use the letter template provided above, scan that to your beneficiary to sign and scan back to you. Two different letters should be written, one by you and one by the petitioner. Spinsterhood or bachelorhood certificate is not required. |

Do I require the services of an agent to fill the ds160 form or can I do it myself considering the fact that I have to sign electronically? |
