LOL. Real Madrid is even lucky to be here. If Emery Unai wasn't a clueless coach, Real Madrid would be outta there by now. gosh, they couldn't even beat common Spurs. Mark my words, Real Madrid is going to lose to Juventus this time. The semi final pairings would be:

Barcelona v ManCity
Bayern v Juventus

Finals:
Barca v Bayern (Barca Champions)

O pari

the octopus have spoken, let's keep our fingers crossed. But Arsenal will beat CSK Moscow blue black in Europa

Politics / BMP Is Now In The Bad Books Of The King Makers. He Is A Sinking Ship. by wrightangle83(m): 6:22pm On Mar 12, 2018
Buhari's sycophant said there are no king makers in politics yet, you needed an OBJ to destroy his PDP membership card and endorse PMB, you needed a Tambuwal, a then PDP speaker in the House of Reps to jump ship in order for APC support base in the house to increase. You needed senators, and house members from PDP to decamp and pledge loyalty to APC. You needed the then servant leader of Niger state Babagida Aliyu. To continue seating on the fence. You needed a saraki, a PDP senator and the leader of Kwara state politics to cross carpet with his state governor and the party apparatus to APC. You needed a Kwankwaso and Kano, because of its huge population and voting numbers. You needed Yobe and Borno because of Boko Haram sympathy from the international community. You needed a PDP Rotimi Amechi raw oil cash from the Niger Delta. Buhari went into an alliance with the south-west and got the political and financial support of Tinubu. He needed an Atiku to decamp from the PDP because of his huge support base. He needed the support of past presidents, (aka Council of States). He needed the support of retired Generals and Officers of the Armed Forces who are still influential to those serving. He needed the likes of Rochas Okorocha in the south - East who was loved by his people prior to the 2015 elections, and as a sitting governor, he could influence the outcome of the presidential election in his state.
He got some PDP big names across Nigeria, who switched their loyalty from the party and GEJ secretly and became a snitch to APC. He needed every important Tom, Dik and Harry in order to actualize his dreams of becoming Nigerians president. The big question is, How many of these persons that help made PMB dreams to come through are still in his good books, and are willing to repeat the same thing for him? Now let me educate those PMB delusional sycophants out there on how elections are won in Nigeria.
You need very important politicaly influential persons who have the political might to get block votes across the spread in Nigeria. You need good alliances with some big political names in regions where you don't have huge political base. You need snitches and anti-party members for first hand informations and party strategies. You need people with deep pockets to market your candidacy. These were all the permutations and strategies that got PMB into power. moreover the international community was so interested on that 2015 presidential election result. They demanded for free, fair and credibility.
Those politicians that played all these role for PMB in 2015 are the king makers. PMB is now, in their Bad books because of his bad policies, nepotism, deodorant and insecticide approach in tackling security and corruption. Blood letting and the misuse of federal controlled security apparatus, indiscriminate and abysmal arrest without prosecution, High handedness, poor economic management skills, cluelessness in governance, and so many other things too numerous to mention.
For your information, elections are not won on social media. Not facebook or any other platform. You need strategies, strategist, Veterans, Big names, technocrats, Deep pockets. Social influencers. Snitches. The people's support and their sympathy, and most importantly, highly influential politicians, in positions of authority and out.
PMB has lost it all. In a few months time, it will be clear to all his social media sycophants. Who don't have PVC's and are abroad based.
Take note, that the US and the international community is still interested in the upcoming 2019 presidential election result. So no room for rigging, underage voting and incidence form.
let us see how Kano, Yobe, Borno will deliver those outrageous 1.9 million, 1.7 million votes.

Yours sincerely Ibifiri, I remain a political strategist, and a die hard critic of APC and Buhari's government.
Politics / I Didn’t Call For Military Intervention, Ekweremadu Says, Alleges He Was Misquot by wrightangle83(m): 5:03pm On Mar 11, 2018
Simon Utebor, Yenagoa

The Deputy President of the Senate, Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, has denied calling for military intervention in the country, saying that he was quoted out of context.

Ekweremadu made the denial on Saturday at the Diepreye Alaimieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Onopa, Yenagoa, when Governor Seriake Dickson hosted him and executive members of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (Africa Region) to a dinner.

The deputy Senate President, who maintained that his comments on the floor of the Senate were misconstrued, insisted that he would never make derogatory statements against the Nigerian military, which he noted remains one of the best fighting forces on the continent.

He stressed that statements made by lawmakers in the course of their duty should be situated within the proper context before any form of reaction.

However, the military, through a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brig-Gen John Agim, had argued that Ekweremadu’s comments “in the true sense, has the capacity to denigrate the Nigerian military in every ramification, including its loyalty to the President and Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces and the confidence of the public to defend Nigeria’s democracy.”

But Ekweremadu noted that parliamentarians had a duty to continue to defend democracy in the country, arguing that the difference between a democracy and a dictatorship is the parliament, which should, ordinarily, provide direction for the sustenance of democracy.

He added that his remarks on the floor of the Senate were to caution his colleagues to avoid the mistakes of the past which he said led to the abrupt end of the First Republic.

Health / Doctors Suspended After Accident Victim’s Amputated Leg Used As Pillow In India by wrightangle83(m): 4:46pm On Mar 11, 2018
Indian authorities have suspended two doctors and launched an investigation after a patient’s severed leg was used as a pillow to prop up his head, a hospital official said Sunday.

Administrators at the government-run hospital in Uttar Pradesh state vowed “strict action” after images emerged showing the patient on a stretcher with the amputated limb being used as a headrest.

“We have set up a four-member committee to find out who put the severed leg under the patient’s head,” said Sadhna Kaushik, principal of the Maharani Laxmibai Medical College and Hospital in Jhansi, told AFP.

“Strict action will be taken if our staff is found at fault.”

Two doctors have been suspended pending investigation, she added.

The man, identified as 28-year-old Ghanshyam, was seriously injured in a bus accident.

His relatives told the local NDTV news network that hospital staff ignored their requests that Ghanshyam, who goes by one name, be given a pillow.

When we reached the hospital, we saw his leg being used as a headrest,” Janaki Prasad, a relative, told NDTV.

“I repeatedly asked the doctors to intervene but they refused,” Prasad added, saying Ghanshyam’s relatives eventually bought a pillow from a local market.

Kaushik said the patient was given “immediate” medical attention and one of his relatives placed the leg under his head, the Press Trust of India reported.

“The doctor looked for something to raise his head. The patient’s attendant used the leg,” she told PTI.

India’s state-run hospitals are often ill-equipped, severely underfunded and stretched to breaking point. Just a handful of specialists are available to treat millions.

Uttar Pradesh, which is home to 200 million people, is one of India’s poorest states, and long waits are common for even minor treatments.

Medical negligence is not uncommon either.

Last year, dozens of children died in a single week at a government hospital in Uttar Pradesh that suffered oxygen shortages. And an unlicensed doctor was arrested last month for allegedly infecting at least 46 people with HIV by re-using a syringe.

Travel / 50 Nigerian Migrants Rescued In The Mediterranean By Libya’s Coastguard by wrightangle83(m): 3:02pm On Mar 11, 2018
No fewer than 50 Nigerian migrants were among the hundreds of migrants rescued on Saturday in the Mediterranean by Libya’s coastguard and an international charity, Doctors Without Borders.
The Nigerians were aboard a boat with 110 migrants.
They were rescued by Aquarius, a ship being operated by MSF, 21 miles from the coast west of Tripoli.
The ship will deliver the migrants, who included 18 women and one child, to Italy.
According to Reuters, more than half the migrants on that boat were Nigerians, with the rest from other sub-Saharan African countries as well as two Palestinians.
The Libyan coastguard vessels also intercepted two of the migrant boats, the first an inflatable dinghy that had broken down with 125 people on board off Zawiya, just west of the capital, Tripoli, said Ayoub Qassem, a coastguard spokesman.
The second boat was turned back off Garabulli, east of Tripoli, and had 112 people on board.
The migrants and their smugglers were trying to take advantage of calm seas as they launched a flurry of boats towards Italy.
Meanwhile the coastguard in Zuwara, a former Libyan smuggling hub west of Zawiya, said they had foiled a departure during the night and arrested some migrants whilst others had escaped with smugglers.
The coastguard posted pictures of detained sub-Saharan African migrants sitting in an inflatable rubber boat on the beach in the dark.
Libya is the main departure point for migrants attempting to reach Europe by sea.
More than 600,000 migrants have crossed the central Mediterranean to Italy over the past four years as people smugglers took advantage of a security vacuum in Libya.
Since last summer the rate of departures dropped significantly after smugglers in the Libyan town of Sabratha struck a deal with the Tripoli government to halt their activities and were then pushed out of the town by rival armed groups.
Libya’s EU-backed coastguard has also stepped up interceptions, often cutting migrant boats off before they can reach international vessels that would bring them to Europe.

Politics / FG Offers Jobs To 350 Niger Delta Ex-militants by wrightangle83(m): 2:43pm On Mar 11, 2018
Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja

The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brig.-Gen. Paul Boroh (retd.), said the Federal Government has so far offered employment to 350 Niger Delta ex-agitators who graduated from various tertiary institutions across the world.

He said the 350 graduates were among the about 30,000 ex-agitators sponsored for various studies abroad by the amnesty office.

Boroh disclosed this in an interview with State House correspondents after attending a meeting of the Niger Delta Inter-Ministerial Committee presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Friday.

He said the ex-agitators who benefited from the job opportunities had already been posted to various federal ministries awaiting approval of the 2018 Appropriation Bill by the National Assembly.

“The Federal Government ensured that about 350 of them have been employed in the various ministries in the country.

“We are only waiting for appropriation so that once they report to their various ministries, they will start earning their salaries,” he said.

Boroh also faulted reports that some of the ex-agitators studying abroad had been abandoned following the failure of the amnesty office to pay their school fees and allowances.

He explained, “I will never allow any of my children schooling outside this country under government (sponsorship) to suffer.

“So as we speak, 96 per cent of those on offshore scholarship have graduated and returned home.

“I have only a few, in fact not more than 10,000 of them left in the entire globe where they have been schooling in the US, UK, Asian countries and South Africa – they have graduated and have come home.”

Politics / Nigeria Police Service Commission Promotes Police Force PPRO Moshood Jimoh After by wrightangle83(m): 10:24am On Mar 08, 2018
A police signal obtained by Saharareporters has shown that following a scandalous phone conversation between the chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, and President Muhammadu Buhari's Chief Personal Security Officer, Abdulkarim Dauda, the spokesperson to the Nigerian Police force Moshood Jimoh has been illegally promoted to the position of Commissioner of police by the PSC.

A section of the officer cadre of the Nigeria Police Force is currently brimming with anger over the latest promotion exercise, which list was released on Tuesday. SaharaReporters gathered that Okiro, Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC) is the major target of the anger.

Police sources disclosed that some officers promoted from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police to Commissioner of Police and from Assistant Commissioner of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police were recommended for elevation by the PSC after greasing Mr. Okiro’s palms with millions of naira, some gave him up to N5million to get promoted.

Hints of the promotion scam manifested last week, when SaharaReporters published details of a phone conversation between a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dauda and Mr. Okiro.

Mr. Dauda, the Chief Personal Security Officer to President Muhammadu Buhari, in the conversation, could be heard begging Mr. Okiro to promote the police spokesman.

The PSC Chairman told Mr. Dauda that he was working on the matter and promised to elevate Mr. Dauda himself to Commissioner of Police but Dauda's name did not appear on the list of promoted officers in the signal obtained by Saharareporters today.

“This boy came to me begging me to talk to you, to plead with you, about his promotion,” Dauda told Mr. Okiro about the Force spokesman.

Mr. Okiro’s tenure as PSC Chairman, which technically lapsed in December, has been blighted by controversies, notably allegations of corruption.

Last year, SaharaReporters published a story on how the commission is driven by cronyism. The commission, under Mr. Okiro, prefers to reward cronies at the expense of well-educated young officers in the inspectorate cadre and even among the rank and file.

A source told Saharareporters at the time that Mr. Okiro is indifferent to the regulation for promoting in-service officers to the position of Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP) and prefers to recruit through direct entry.

Section 39 of Part IV (Appointments) of the Police Act and Regulation provides: "When vacancies in the establishment of Assistant Superintendents of Police cannot, by reason of unavailability of suitable candidates, be filled by promotions from within the Force, the Inspector-General shall so inform the Nigeria Police Council and may request it to arrange for the posts to be filled by direct entry.”

The stated conditions of “unavailability” and “suitability” for filling the ASP cadre by direct entry, said sources, are willfully disregarded by the commission to ensure that it is filled by cronies.

Two years ago, a 49-member civil society coalition under Network on Police Reform in Nigeria (NOPRIN), called for Mr. Okiro’s sack. The coalition accused him of lacking integrity, pointing to the welter of corruption allegations brought against him by police officers. In a petition to President Buhari, the coalition cited the lack of fidelity in the Police promotion exercise.

"Many (applicants) did not have the basic qualifications and presented either fake certificates or the certificates of others. Most of them paid various sums of money in bribe to be recruited. This explains why there are many armed robbers, kidnappers and sundry criminals within the Police Force," NOPRIN said in the petition.

Last month, anti-graft coalition, the Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC), kicked against Mr. Okiro’s continued stay in office as PSC Chairman. CSNAC, in a petition, stated that the dissolution of the PSC board on 29 December 2017, has made the stay of the PSC in office untenable.

*Heart Breaking Ajaokuta Steel Company, Things To Know.*

After reading this piece with good conscience,
you will weep for our country, Nigeria, and if
you are from Kogi state, you may wail!

1. Ajaokuta Company was founded in
1979 by Olusegun Obasanjo. But the
foundation laying of the project was done
by president Shehu Shagari in 1980 and
within four years, it attained 84%
completion. That’s a 37 year project that’s yet to be completed.

2. It is located in Ajaokuta, Kogi state on
24,000 hectares of landmass and built on
800 hectares of land. So massive!

3. It was tagged “the bedrock of Nigeria
industrialisation.” No wonder, we have not
been able to find our feet in that aspect without its functionality.

4. It was to employ 10,000 staff directly at the first phase of commissioning, the upstream and downstream industries that would evolve all over the nation will engage not less than 500,000 employees when fully
operational. That sounds more engaging than even the telecommunication industry.

5. The steel company was expected to be the
largest in Africa. That would had placed us as a giant of Africa, not only by size.

6. The plant by 1994 was reckoned to be at 98% completion in terms of equipment erected. Some completed units of the plant operated at different times but had to shut down due to non-availability of fund.

7. The federal government stopped funding the steel company since 1994, thus, it still remains at 98% completion. Battling with 2% for 23 years sounds jinxed.

8. It will cost $400 million to complete
Ajaokuta Steel Company. That should be chicken feed compare to its anticipated benefits.

9. It is estimated that the current state of Ajaokuta Steel Company is worth over $5 billion. Whooping!

10. Ajaokuta Steel Company was earlier sold under the privatization programme of president Olusegun Obasanjo to Global
Steel Holding Limited. But following the allegation of downsizing, asset-stripping and shutting down of the company, the federal government successfully regained total control of the steel company during
president Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.

11.TyazhPromoExport (TPE), the Russian
company that designed and built Ajaokuta Steel
Company Limited up to 98% completion had completed over 40 world class mines, steel and mineral processing plants spread across
the world and functioning to full capacity except for ASCL. What is it with Nigeria?

12. As the current Sole Administrator of
Ajaokuta Steel Company, Engr. Idah Joseph
Onobere, once said, “….there are some orchestrated campaign of calumny against
the Nigerian state aimed at ensuring that we remain perpetually a dumping ground
for steel products from developed countries.” Every indication sure points to that assertion.

13. Trillions of naira is said to be spent annually importing steel. The proposed mambilla hydro power project alone is estimated that it will consume 2.7million
metric tonnes of steel. Imagine ASCL working to full capacity, that will be saving a lot of foreign exchange.

14. As experts say, Ajaokuta Steel Company is enough for Nigeria to produce her own car.

15. Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the minister of solid
mineral development once said that there
are legal issues surrounding Ajaokuta
Steel Company that need to be cleared. We hope this is cleared soonest.
Since we currently have a president who is in
the business of reawakening forgotten
important projects in Nigeria, as we have seen
in the case of mambilla hydro power project,
we hope and pray president Muhammudu
Buhari channels all effort to ensure that Ajaokuta Steel Company work accordingly especially now that the clamour for
diversification is at its peak.

If everyone that reads this can afford to share
it, perhaps it will get to the authority and remind them once again that the biggest Nigeria project (and treasure) thus far, is still sleeping.

Reward For Failure, Nepotism Bane Of This Government

Kano-based politician, Dr. Junaid Mohammed again exposes the ills in the government of Muhammadu Buhari, and why he must not be returned in 2019. ADAMU ABUH reports.

What do you think of the clamour for a second term for President Buhari in 2019?

Personally, I am not surprised that there is clamour for President Muhammadu Buhari to continue and contest in the 2019 poll. Anyone involved in this country’s politics knows that there is absolutely nothing new there.

Every president we’ve had in this country, every heads of government, as well as heads of state have been told they were special persons, that nobody else can govern the country, and as such they should continue, as such without them, the country couldn’t move on. I am not surprised it is happening to Buhari and I am not surprised he is putting his personal ambition over and above the country’s interest. It is so unfortunate that Buhari and the cabals have found themselves in the same shoes as their predecessors and it will end in tragedy.

I say so because those urging them to remain perpetually in power are not doing so because they like them. And even though Buhari has surrounded himself in a very nepotic way by ensuring that all the major appointments were given to his in-laws, nephews and cousins, but I can assure you that when the chips are down, he would be left to cry all by himself.

Ex-presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Ibrahim Babangida have advised Buhari not to re-contest in 2019…

First and foremost, the question I ask myself when something of this nature emerges is: Is it the truth? And I have no doubt in my mind that what both Obasanjo and Babangida said was the truth. In addition, I also believe Nigerians should be more mature, because though you may not like somebody, but as long as what he/she said is the truth, then you should stand by the truth.

If others are imputing motives to Obasanjo and Babangida by saying it was a continuation of an old quarrel and that they never liked Buhari; that is neither here nor there. The fact of the matter is that Buhari has done nothing for Nigerians to like him. So, whatever was the motivation, what they said was the truth and I believe they did this country a great service. I am prepared to stand by them, even though I have my own issues with them.

I was sent to jail without any trial during Babangida’s regime and up till today nobody has told me what I did. They took me to Owo in Ondo State during the month of Ramadan, while I was fasting for nearly three months. I have also had problems with Obasanjo, even before I resigned from public service to join politics over his attempt to jail my colleague, Hamidu Ali, the man who had a gun in the House of Representatives, but that is neither here nor there. What they said was the truth. The nepotism they mentioned, I also talked about over two years ago.

What is your take on the alleged lopsided appointment of security chiefs and the controversy surrounding appointment of the NIA DG?

There is no law that says those who are heading security positions must not come from a particular zone. But what happened was that this gentleman, Mr. Ahmed Abubakar, who was not even an NIA employee, joined the service by accident, because there was supposed to be a meeting of what they called Nigeria /Niger commission and unfortunately the then DG of NIA did not make arrangement for interpreters from Lagos, when the summit held in Kaduna. So, they found somebody that could speak French, who was in Katsina State’s kitchen cabinet. And so, he was picked and then he became the interpreter for that occasion. After it was over, the then NIA DG, who was a Katsina man decided to induct and recruit him into the NIA. And that was how the man came into the service.

But because he came from a very low background, when he sat for exams from Assistant Director to Deputy Director, he failed twice or thrice. And the NIA system, just like that of most Civil Service, stipulates that if you fail an exam once or twice, you’ll be asked to go. So, this man was asked to go. And he left quietly, but they later discovered that the way he was recruited was improper. First, there was the question about where he was born. It was discovered that he was born in Chad Republic. Then they also found that he was married to a Moroccan.

Now in the service, they don’t allow you to marry a foreigner, though you can be a diplomat and marry a foreigner. But somehow, this was allowed to pass because the man has powerful backers. However, he had to go eventually because he could not pass his exams. But some of the people that sat with him and passed their exams are still in service. But they have now appointed him DG NIA over and above those who are with him, and who passed their exams while he failed his own. They sacked the other people who passed their own exams. This means the Buhari government is determined to reward failure, provided it is his kinsmen. You know the directors have taken the matter to court.

The issue at stake over the appointment of the DG NIA and DG SSS is not wrong because they are from the same state, but because they did not meet the laid down guideline and they were also deficient in terms of their qualifications and the cognate experience in their places of work.

There is also the issue of never appointing somebody to supersede people who are better, unless you want to destroy an organisation. You don’t allow it in any system. In the case of the DG SSS, who had already retired from service years ago, he was brought back and made the DG SSS. That was improper, unusual and is very devastating to morale. I like him. He used to be a director in Kano and is a personal friend because we used to get on well, and I still like him, but unfortunately, his problem is that he believes he is a politician and he is not. He is a security technocrat. So, if he behaves like he knows too much of politics, he will end up in disaster.

In the case of the newly-appointed DG NIA Ahmed Abubakar, who is also from Katsina, the man clearly did not measure up when he was in service. He failed his exams. There is nothing he can do about it. He had to go because they have a hierarchical system, just like in the Army. If you don’t pass the Captain to Major exams, they ask you to go. To make matters worse, they now picked him and made him boss over those that sat with him for the same exams and passed. The most senior director, who should have been appointed, is from Plateau State. He was the one that acted. He is Mr. Mohammed Dauda. He is fit and qualified to take the seat as the substantive head of NIA and you now brought a failure to take the seat.

This is gross injustice and a great disservice to the country. At any rate, if he wanted a northerner, what is wrong in picking the man who is the most senior and from Plateau State?

The most senior director after Ayodele Oke was asked to leave was from Plateau State. He was allowed to act and they had nothing against him, other than that there is some mago mago in the NIA concerning money found in a flat in the DGS office vault. It is only in Nigeria you have somebody keeping $43 million in some kind of flat in Lagos and then about $44 million in his office. He must be crazy or there must have been some high handed moves by the cabal to steal the money and then the man came out to say he was not confirmed, because he was not prepared to cooperate with the cabal to steal the money. And the other directors who had been shortchanged have now taken the matter to the High Court. It is not a matter of heads of security outfits coming from a particular zone.

As I’m speaking, there are 28 directors from the Southwest in the NIA. And this is just within the two terms of Oladimeji and Oke. How do you justify having 28 directors mainly from Oyo State, when there are states that don’t have a single director in NIA? They should know that some of us know so much about the agency.

What is your take on the existence of the so-called cabal in Buhari’s government?

When I started talking about the cabal over two years ago, many Nigerians, some of them with the best but naive intentions, thought there was no such thing as cabals. But there is a cabal. Because Buhari has been out of government for many years, he has not been able to update his knowledge in terms of development and events in and outside the country. And because of this and in my own estimation, we now have the least competent, the most isolated, most divisive and arrogant leader in the history of Nigeria. And in a country that is so complex and not so cohesive, this is clearly a disaster, which is where we are heading.

Right now, nobody doubts that there is a cabal. The de facto president of the country from May 29, 2015 has been one joker called Mamman Daura, who was a one-time Managing Director of the defunct New Nigerian newspapers. He is the head of the cabal and the de-facto president, because there have been instances when the president would give an instruction, he would undermine the instruction and nothing would happen. There have been times policy decisions or appointments would be made and his lackeys – Abba Kyari, the president’s chief of staff, the former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal, who was appointed against all odds, but who remained there because he was in the cabal’s good books, will tamper with it. We all knew how he diverted donor monies belonging to international donor agencies, until they told Buhari in no uncertain terms that he had to be punished. But the others like Mamman Daura and Abba Kyari are sitting tight and taking decisions for you and me, as well as all Nigerians.

None of them was elected and though Kyari has a letter of appointment as chief of staff, Mamman Daura does not have a single letter indicating that he is whatever he is, but how he came about exercising such enormous powers is what nobody knows.

There are ministers who have been appointed not because they have any qualifications but because they are related to Buhari. The Aviation minister, Hadi Seriki is his elder sister’s son. Amina Zakari, who works in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) representing the seven states of the northwest zone was appointed even before Buhari came into power through mago mago. It is left to the former president Goodluck Jonathan to tell us how she became national commissioner in INEC. Then there is the minister of Interior, Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau (rtd.) who was born and bred in Zaria. Somehow, and in a typical arrogant and abuse of power, he was turned into a Kano man and given a ministerial appointment, which constitutionally should have been given to a person who grew up in Kano State. Yet, Kano is the only political base Buhari has.

There are several others. The State House chief of protocol is a son-in-law to Mamman Daura, who is President Buhari’s nephew. Ordinarily, the position should have been given to a senior ambassador. The president’s chief personal security officer is Mamman Daura’s younger brother. Another State personal security officer is another relation of theirs. The ADC to the president is a son-in-law to them. Do you know that the S.A to Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the S.A to the junior minister of petroleum resources are Mamman Daura and Buhari’s daughters respectively?

This is an update of what I started saying two years ago. They now have their sons, daughters, sons-in-laws and nephews as beneficiaries of the appointments made so far. Now, among the people in the cabal, but very powerful and not known is someone called Tunde, originally called Sabiu Yusuf. He is the son of Mamman Daura’s immediate younger sister. He is, today, P.A to the President, even though he has never worked for one day in his life. But a P.A job is normally the work of a full-blown director or a permanent secretary. That boy only got married last year and as I speak to you now, he is one of the billionaires in Nigeria today. Nobody of his age has the kind of money that boy has. So, can that be justified?

If they are going to treat this country as if it was conquered by them and or by their families, you can imagine what the picture would look like, if Buhari were to be given a second term and how they are going to use our resources and how they are going to abuse power.

Mamman Daura’s daughter, who is married to one of the Dantatas, is the S.A to the CBN governor. Then Buhari’s sister’s son is also an S.A to Kachikwu, the junior minister of petroleum resources. The chief personal security officer to the president, DCP Abdulkarim Dauda is Mamman Daura’s younger brother. The chief security officer (CSO) Col Bashir Abubakar is also married into the family. The State chief of protocol, Lawal Kazaure, who has not reached the rank of an ambassador, is also married to Mamman Daura’s eldest daughter. I mentioned earlier that the P.A to the President, Sabiu Yusuf Tunde, who is in his 20’s, is one of the wealthiest 20-year-olds in Nigeria. He is also the son of Mamman Daura’s immediate younger sister. She herself is a niece to Buhari. And that is how the country is being governed.

The national commissioner at INEC is Buhari’s niece. In addition, her husband, who used to be a manager in UBA, died. Now when an opportunity arose, they went and picked the late husband’s younger brother and made him Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He is Brig Gen Zakari from Kazaure in Jigawa State.

Sports / Mamelodi Sundowns Hint At Usain Bolt Deal by wrightangle83(m): 12:25pm On Feb 27, 2018
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS HINT AT USAIN BOLT DEAL.

The Jamaican track legend is due to announce which football team he has signed for on Tuesday, with one team hinting at being the lucky side.

South African side Mamelodi Sundowns have dropped a big hint that they have signed retired athletics star Usain Bolt.

The Jamaican tweeted on Sunday to confirm he had agreed a deal with a football team and would be making a further announcement at 0800GMT on Tuesday.

Sundowns retweeted Bolt's post and followed up on Monday with a major suggestion that they are the side the 31-year-old has joined.

"Football will never be the same. Find out tomorrow 8am GMT!" they posed on their official Twitter account, along with a picture of Bold at the club's training ground.

Bolt has regularly expressed a desire to carve out a career in football, having retired from sprinting following the world athletics championships in London last year.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist has often said he would like to play for Manchester United, the club he supports, while he also recently offered his services to David Beckham's new Major League Soccer franchise, Futbol Miami.

Car Talk / Re: Vehicle Recalls: Why Are Nigerians Not Part Of It? by wrightangle83(m): 10:57am On Dec 01, 2017
wrightangle83:
Dear nairalanders, i have been thinking of this for sometime now, Why are Nigerians not part of vehicles Recalls that occurs periodically due to manufacturing errors.

I did a little research and came up with these findings.

Before Nigeria returned to Democracy in May 1999. Only very few persons could actually purchase brand new vehicles. (a.k.a tear rubber)

What we use to have before then as bran new cars, are often purchased by then military Government, companies and banks for it's senior personals.

But since the return to civilian rule in 1999, more persons had opportunity via Democracy, economic boom, multinationals, agencies, oil and gas, contracts, and above all, CORRUPTION AND FRAUD SPRANG UP.
So much money exchanged hands and that prompted Nigerians to go for Brand New Cars also know as Tear Rubber cars.

But periodically Auto manufacturers and dealerships in Europe, America, Asia and other countries promptly extend recalls of defective cars to affected buyers around the world; the same cannot be said of Nigeria;

Vehicles are not cheap. Indeed, they are relatively one of the most expensive items of the world. Buyers therefore expect them to have high level of comfort and safety, among other qualities

Vehicle recall is not a novel thing in the auto world. It has become part of regular reports of every automaker’s operations. Recalls occur when certain technical faults are noticed in vehicles already sold out and are being used by people, which may have resulted or could result in (fatal) accidents. Manufacturers of such vehicles announce their recall to enable them to fix identified defects, which will be at no cost to the owners/users.

According to the latest edition of the ‘Nigeria Auto Journal’, the US News and World Report provides some of the biggest car recalls in history to include the Ford recall of 4.5 million pickups and sport utility vehicles in 2005, which was due to a problem affecting the cruise control. Affected vehicle owners were told to return their cars to the dealerships to have the cruise control disconnected and then reactivated. In 1981, General Motors recalled nearly six million vehicles over a problem with their suspension. It had also issued its biggest recall of 6.6 million vehicles in 1971 due to a defective throttle control. Toyota recalled about nine million of its vehicles in 2009 over pedal entrapment.

And what could be described as the ‘mother’ of all recalls happened last year when Takata Corporation of Japan, which manufactures 20 per cent of the car industry’s airbags, admitted that it had supplied faulty airbags that were fixed to about 53 million vehicles, most of which had been sold worldwide. This led to a massive recall of these vehicles. The affected car brands are Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, Chrysler, Ford and General Motors, among others.

Although it is not something for the automakers to celebrate because of the perceived negative connotation, recall is said to be a mark of honesty and a show of responsibility on the part of the automaker.

Experts also say recalls are an indication of lapses and that some people have failed to do their work well before pushing the vehicles out to unsuspecting buyers. They are also quick to add that recalls should lead to better practices and safer cars.

While auto dealerships in other countries have always extended recalls to affected car owners in their areas, it is rather curious that the same is hardly done in Nigeria.

Indeed, there were indications that some new vehicle dealers in the Nigeria were still selling vehicles fitted with the faulty airbags that could deploy improperly and put the lives of their occupants at risk during accidents.

Although the global vehicle recalls, which started in 2015 as a result of the faulty airbags produced by Takata, affected over a dozen auto brands, only Toyota Motor Corporation though its representative in Nigeria extended the recall campaign to the country and directed owners of the affected vehicles to bring them for repairs.

An automobile consultant, Dr. Oscar Odiboh, slammed some dealers of new vehicles in Nigeria who failed to extend recall campaigns to their customers, accusing them of placing profit over the safety of the people.

He said, “Twelve out of the 15 auto brands that have been recalled by their manufacturers in the past 30 years are established brands in Nigeria, but none extended past recall benefits to their local customers within the same period.

“This scenario worries independent stakeholders even as the controversy rages that Nigerian automobile companies obtain the recall replacement items from their manufacturers and simply sell the parts to unsuspecting after-sales customers.”

Odiboh also noted, “Before now, we did not know that there were defects in some of the vehicles we bought with our money, and when an accident happened and people died, we didn’t really know what the problem was; and we never thought that the cause of the accident was a mistake made by the maker of the car. This is exactly what we have come to understand with what is happening in the global automobile industry right now.

So what's your take on this? Follow nairalanders. Comments please.

Is a pity, because of the level of corruption in the land, people no longer place value On human life's. How can Nigerian automobile companies obtain the recall replacement items from their manufacturers and simply sell the parts to unsuspecting after-sales customers.” instead to use it for it purpose. Risking the life's of the unaware vehicle buyers. THIS IS BLOOD MONEY.

Phones / 9 Mobile Free Youtube 1am To 5am Is A Fraud. My Experience by wrightangle83(m): 1:18pm On Nov 23, 2017
Hello Nigerians, and my fellow Nairalanders. 9moblile free YouTube from 1am to 5am is a fraud be warned. I will be sharing my bitter experience with you all. I have SMS sent to me by 9mobile which i will upload, in justifying my claims.

MY ORDEAL IN THE HANDS OF 9MOBILE

I am a subscriber of Etisalat network before it was taken over by 9mobile. They started a promo for free YouTube streaming from 1am to 5am. I tried inquiring on how it works from there customer service. I was informed that it was for customers that subscribe from 500mb plan and above and that i should change my APN from Etisalat to 9mobile. It was okay with me, since i could afford it. But because of the nature of my job, i wasn't chanced for it. Because i do go to bed before 1am and wake up after 6am. Fast forward to 16th of November. I got three weeks off, so i had all day and night to myself of which i plan to make good use of.
I decided to stream some soccer matches i wasn't privilege to watch. While i was on it, i got a message from 9mobile that my data has been exhausted. I called to inquire why. I was informed that the plan has changed. That only people on 1G and above can stream the free 9mobile YouTube. It was a logical reason. Company policy of which i know how it works.
I did a 1.5G plan just to continue streaming. But i didn't know that they were still deducting from my main data instead of the 500mb that is allocated to me for the free YouTube. I was surprised to observe that i have ran out of data around 11am in the morning. I called the customer service, but they were taking all day to answer and i had some important stuffs to do online. So i did another 1G plan in other not to pull out of the free YouTube plan. On the 18th of November, i decided to stream the free YouTube again, around 1:25 am, just to confirm my suspicions. I hadn't stream for 45 minutes, when i got a text that my data has been exhausted.

To be continued. Comments please

MY BITTER EXPERIENCE

I called the customer service to complain, a female attended to me. Having explained my problem, she requested that i remain on the line, why she transferred my call to her colleagues in data help desk. After the transfer, a male attended to me. He inquired what the problem was and apologized for my inconveniences. He now assured me that the issue will be resolved asap. That i should expect a call or text from the network in the morning, between 9am or 10am. I was okay with it. Immediately after the call i got a text message from 9mobile that my complain with reference no has been received and that they are working on it. Picture of the text below

Crime / Man Charged With Murder Claims His Girlfriend Choked To Death On His Penis by wrightangle83(m): 1:24pm On Nov 22, 2017
Men, we understand, are prone to exaggerate; some going to “extreme lengths” when it comes to their “manhood”, now we are not sure if Richard Henry Patterson is exaggerating when he told a court in Florida that Francisca Marguinez choked to death during MouthAction because his penis is so large!

Not content with telling the jury that he has a whopper, he wants to show them it in court to prove his innocence. His claim is that because his penis is, well shall we say mammoth sized, poor old Francisca just choked during their playful exercise. The defence lawyer Ken Padowitz, has called upon the judge to allow Patterson to show his penis to the jury, judge, lawyers and a bailiff. The eager lawyer suggested that it “was essential” that they saw the offending weapon, so that they could fully understand just what the defence team were talking about. Failing this, Mr Padowitz has said that he will just have to make a mould of the gentleman’s penis so that he jurors can see the monster.

Mr Patterson does admit that he, or perhaps he means his penis, killed her, but denies that he did it deliberately and is to face trial for second-degree murder. The couple had been dating for about four months when the unfortunate event took place, which was in October 2015. He was arrested in November after police found a decomposing body when Patterson contacted his lawyer and told him to send police to Marguinez’s home. What the unfortunate police found when they went into the victims home was Marguinez face down on the bed, surrounded by blood and semen-stained tissues.

Unfortunately, because of the length of time and the state of the decomposing body, the coroner was unable to determine the cause of death. Police were alerted after Patterson messaged his daughter and a friend saying he ‘did something bad’ and that he ‘was so sorry’. He said that although he had choked her, perhaps that should read penis, but now he is arguing that he didn’t strangle her.

Should the judge decide to allow the defendant to display his penis, we wonder if it would be presented flaccid or erect, whichever way it may happen, would his “evidence” stand up in court!

Sports / Flares And Pepper Spray Don’t Mix – Who’d Of Thought? Fan Turns Into Fireball At by wrightangle83(m): 11:35am On Nov 22, 2017
A football fan carrying a lit flare got a bit of a shock when a riot police officer fired pepper spray at him during a Polish League game.

The incredible picture below shows the fan trying to climb a fence segregating fans and carrying a flare. Unbeknown to the fan the riot police officer got his trusty pepper spray out, not knowing that its contents were flammable. You can guess what happened.

That’s right! The Zaglebie Lubin fan turned into a human fireball for a split second before dropping the flare, jumping off the fence and scampering away a bit more singed that he was before.
The incident happened at a Polish League game between Slask Wroclaw and Zaglebie Lubin, Slask Wroclaw won the match 1-0.

It’s safe to say that the fan in question probably won’t be waving a flare at the police in a hurry.

Crime / Teenage Girl Arrested For Receiving MouthAction From Pet Dog by wrightangle83(m): 10:21am On Nov 22, 2017
A Florida teenager has admitted taking selfies of her pit bull dog giving her MouthAction after police found pictures on her mobile phone. 18 year old Ashley Miller was charged with two counts of sexual activities involving animals after Bradenton police officers found graphic pictures hidden on her mobile phone.

Miller told the police that she has coaxed her dog, called 2-face into performing MouthAction on her between 30 and 40 times over the past five years. The 18 year old also admitted that her previous dog, called Scarface also performed MouthAction on her.

Miss Miller told the police that 2-face lives with her grandmother and that every time she wanted to have sex with the dog that she would lock herself in her room. She claims that 2-face would “put her snout into her vagina on her own” without any prompting, but denies touching the dog in any sexual way.

While the incidents had been going on for at least five years, Miller stated that less than 10 of the acts happened after she turned 18. 2-face shower no signs of injury after being examined by a local vet; Miller is scheduled for arraignment.
