cococandy: lol. So the woman has a business or trade of some sorts right? Yet somehow the we believe the fathers alone provide fianacncial support for the family.
You said you don't mind as long as it doesn't become a norm for you? So what if it does and you have to do that many times a week.
You people better repent of this unnecessary and destructive pride that doesn't benefit anyone.
I was in the clinic on Friday. Come see fathers who accompany their wives for prenatal checkups signing up for classes in baby care. Learning to change diapers, feed them, bathe them and what have you. Some who learned a long time ago teach others. They have the infants to themselves anyday the mom has to work or isn't around or just for the heck of it. It's their baby too. And they aren't jobless. They all have jobs too but manage to balance child care with their wives.
Na for "face me I face you" in one slum in ajegunle you will see a father forming king of jungle towards his own little baby. Where's the love?
Better repent y'all. Hahahaha. Coco madam wan kill me with laugh. U see the thing is some ladies will take advantage of such situation as a bait to shoulder the responsibilities on their husbands. Too much of something is not good. Speaking of fathers accompany their wives to prenatal or natal wards, I can do that if I am off duty or take excuse from work except if I am running my business, then I can accompany her anytime. The fact that I can't accompany my wife today doesn't labelled me a bad husband. If she will give birth irrespective of my work (sorry to digress), na to abandon my work and see how my fine bobo or litlle daughter go look like. |

Jennydoris: You know some Nigerian men and their mentality... some of them will feel somehow that their wife is leaving the care of their child for them. And some don't know how to take care of a baby especially when it comes to changing diaper and feeding the baby. So it's better I take the baby to my mum or my mother in law. But in a situation whereby both grandmothers are not disposed then my husband has to take care of our baby since I don't have any other option. But I have to let him understand why he has to do that to avoid him viewing it from another angle. Ima na unu bu umu nwoke siri ike. . Well said dear. Thumbs up. |

LadyFiona: Misplaced ego..... I must say. Demonstrating an over-inflated and equally destructive ego towards the vital part of fatherhood which helps in creating an inestimable bond with your own kid is appalling. I agree with your post but u know the stench of such appalling traits in some guys is beyond abnormal. |

cococandy: I'm the stories and on nairaland alone.
In real life, the wives also work to contribute to the home. Yes I know, that why I put the condition "most time". To me, I feel there should be balancing. That is the essence of marriage. To fill each other's gap, to help and support yourselves. I see it as no big deal to fill the vacuum of babysitting my child in her absence but it will become annoying if this scenario has become her norms. |

He should Sell the baby or give it away now since it's beneath him. Lol. |

cococandy: If you like, sell the kids because the few days that their mother won't be around to take care of them because it's beneath you to take care of your children.
Does she even need to be away before a father knows he should also care of his children? Fathers most time provide the financial support for the family as some of them see babysitting their child for a moment as not their responsibility. You should know what am talking about especially the ego guys. |

okabe: Op no vex o but since when has taking care of one's child become 'baby-sitting'? Tagging it such makes it look like work. I believe in the traditional family setting, forget what you see in movies or what you read in foreign books. A man should ALWAYS take care of his family.
*Family over everything* Bros, Imagine a 6month old baby in which u have to babysit for few days as your wife need to travel for urgent matters. Can you combine it with your workload? |

peeparty: Why not I can.am a lover of kids I play n laff with dem a lot. The thing is some guys see the job as solely their wife responsibilities and so if their wife is not going to be around, they will take it to nanny or a friend's place. |

Jennydoris: With the high rate of child rape and all other insecurity if I don't have the time to be with my child I will take her to my mother. Some nanny of nowadays are just something else. Lol. Funny answer. Don't u trust your husband to do the job? |

LadyFiona: When you grew up in a dysfunctional family these are questions you'll find yourself asking.
Taking care of your kids huh maybe for a bastard fathered by you...... then no qualms. Some guys grew up in a stable family but their ego will not allow them to do this. |

peeparty:

just thinking what situation will warrant that? Anyway if it really a major ish sha ,I see nothing wrong in bringing in a nanny that is advanced in age to stans in for a while. I mean you gangan lol. If the situation occured during the weekend, can u babysit your child? |

The responsibilities of a wife in a marriage centres more on the welfare of her family in terms of cooking, washing, upkeep, and taking care of the children is one of her top priority.
However, an unforeseen circumstances or emergency situation may arise that would put the husband in no position than need the service of a nanny to help babysit the child
So guys can you employ the responsibility of a nanny to help take care of your child in the absence of your wife or you will compromise by taking the child to nanny home? |
