⚡️🇷🇺 Russia will bolster new nuclear submarines with hypersonic missiles. Russia is equipping its new Yasen-class nuclear submarines with hypersonic Zircon missiles, according to Alexey Rakhmanov, the head of Russia's largest shipbuilder. "Work in this direction is already underway," Rakhmanov told the RIA Novosti state news agency in an interview published on Monday. Zircon hypersonic missiles are long-range weapons that travel more than five times the speed of sound and are harder to detect and intercept. “The armament of serial frigates with this system will be carried out in accordance with the plan of the Russian Ministry of Defense during their construction and operation,” Rakhmanov added. The Yasen-M multi-purpose nuclear submarines, also known as Project 885M, are a modernized version of Project 885. ⚡️Burkina Faso Grants Approval for Cereal Exports to 🇳🇪 Niger. On Friday, the officials of Burkina Faso revealed their decision to permit the export of grains to their neighboring country, Niger. Ouagadougou has taken the exceptional step of allowing the export of millet, maize, sorghum, and beans to 🇳🇪 Niger as a gesture of solidarity with their neighbor. It is estimated that Niger needs to import a minimum of 600,000 tons of grain this year to avert a humanitarian crisis. Despite its own food commodity needs, Burkina Faso had suspended the export of cereal crops like millet, maize, sorghum, and beans in November 2022. The situation might also attract Russia's attention, with the potential for 🇷🇺 Russia to provide assistance to Niger through Burkina Faso. However, the primary challenge lies in logistics. Currently, the only feasible port route is via Guinea. If Russia can successfully coordinate grain logistics between 🇬🇳 Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger, it would significantly enhance Russia's reputation.
