Parvo virus is deadly but your dog can beat it with proper care.
*During the infection, diarrhea causes fluid and electrolyte loss, this can me managed by periodic re hydration with a fortified glucose solution (containing vitamin D, calcium). The famous 'glucose D' is good. Otherwise your dog needs a subcutaneous or intravenous supply of a glucuse solution ranging from 5% dextrose to 50% depending on the condition of the dog.Glucose is used because your dog's enzymes are messed up, the ability of the dog to digest food is tampered with by little functioning digestive process.

*The DHLPP vaccine is efficient (except in cases where a new strain surges). In Nigeria, most careless vaccine handlers break the freeze cycle. This is not supposed to be so. A break in freeze cycle renders the vaccine null. In essence, what your dog gets is not the attenuated virus but a piece of dead mass. Importers, sellers and vets are guilty of this. One cannot determine if the freeze cycle of a vaccine has been broken. The best bet is a serum analysis after vaccination. *Story! Facilities are unavailable for humans, not to talk of dogs.

In all, I have learnt that early discovery and treatment of a diseased dog increases its survival chances.
The most potent drug I know of is LOVE.
LOVE keeps your dog fighting, willing to survive and puts it back on its feet.
Most vets don't have this drug, many dogs die under their watch.

I am carrying out a research on human grade consumable groundnut cake popularly known as kuli-kuli (Not the type used as poultry feed) but the ones people eat especially with garri which are usually peppered or unpeppered.
I don't know where it is made or how to get to the makers.
This is a personal project and will appreciate contacts of the producers.
This is to enable me fill out the questionnaires I have.

You are getting it totally wrong here, you are missing the whole gist... Why will I get mad about the quality of your camera? What do I stand to gain in raising an unfair grudge with u? The public is not dumb no doubt, but please portray ur dogs for who they are and not what they're not... You don't have to play all formal in here to appear genuine... The site ain't yours, u can play all the tricks on ur site. Upload raw pictures of ur dogs not some editted, photshopped, podcasted pictures...
Not beefing... Just speaking for the voiceless

I encourage buyers to come over, see, examine pups, watch them play, eat, run around. I tell them about the characters of each pup too. I try my best as I can.

Yea I agree it's a nice concept, no doubt he's putting in his best... Not as if I'm interested in buying or something, I'm only protecting the rights of the public. Even a Mongrel will look good with all those graphics and picture quality, don't u think? All I ask is for him to paint a true picture of the dogs so buyers can accept them for who they are and not for what they are not... He can put up all the formalty on his website or blog, no one would bother about that cos he owns his space, This is NL!!!!

I decided to get a high resolution picture of my pups and you feel bad. Please don't feel bad. It is my responsibility to provide high resolution pictures so as not to mislead any intending buyer. Tan is tan, brown is brown. You get what you see. The public is not dumb you know....
I use a high resolution camera, if you mad about it, go get yours!

Royal Canin is ready available in Lagos,Abuja,Ibadan and Port Harcourt.

Manufacturer will boast of his product na.I am looking for a people tested and trusted product before i dive into Miglior cane professional...trying to avoid a costly mistake.
For a non blue ribbon kibble, royal canine is expensive...the last time i checked, it was 17,500 for the GSD variant.

Get Royal Canin, though expensive but that's the best around and your dog(s) will love it.
Stay far away from Pedigree and Diamond, you can also try Josera.

Royal canin is quite pricey and not readily avail. esp for GSDs.People rather retail its variant for large breeds because they are cheaper and in high demand. Having to be consistent with a brand of kibble that is more than 80percent acceptable with appreciable result to my dog is what I am after. I don't want to switch off and on.
Nutroplan puppy (chicken meat loaf NOT the gravy version) in cans is still the best I have used so far, showing very noticeable weight gain. I supplement with eggs, boiled chicken necks or butt. Ready availability is the problem.

I once started with a picky eater and tried all sorts of dog food...Canned jojo, canned Rukus, canned pedigree, till i met nutroplan by petsmart. My dog finally settled for that till she got tired of it. Then my journey into dry food started. I fed Arion puppy, she just ate a little and returned back to play. I switched to Dogmor and then to Pedigree for large breeds which she eventually settled for.

*Problem starts when Pedigree goes out of stock, then I have to switch to Arion which she doesnt really like. She loses weight during this period because she eats little and still remains overly active.

I am thinking of trying Miglior Cane Professional or Pedro nut or Diamond which are readily available.

*Has anyone used the above brands and what has been your experience with them with respect to acceptability and weight gain?

I spend more than twice that amount monthly on just their feeding... It's not compulsory u buy a dog, u can get a male turkey for that amount, male turkeys are well known to scare off strangers.

The pups are 44days old today. 6weeks and 2days old that is. They are active, noisy, occassional 'barks' and doing fine.
Thank God for an anomally free litter and to the Dam for taking care of them.

*The early vaccination in this endemic age is to ensure adequate protection when the dam's passive vaccination via colostrum wears off which is usually in the 5th week or when weaning is done. Dogs may look alike but not act alike. Our dam started weaning our pups in the 4th week.
