I once made myself an automatic water pump controller after my ND, I couldn't develop my skills further for my mind was just about meeting my immediate needs, and engineering requires money if you want to grow your skills practically. That is not a big thing but something great from a young lad like him sha. We should encourage and not discourage. Hello everyone, My brother had issue with UK the last time he travelled there in 2012. He had travelled twice or three before the last issued visa. He was given a multiple entry family visiting visa. He travelled alone but when he got there he said he came for business trip which contracted the purpose visa was issued on. He was deported and the visa was cancelled with a pen. He later applied to USA in 2013 and was denied after seeing what UK did on his passport. He was told to resolve his issue with UK and then re-apply. Now the passport had expired last year, how can he go about it if he want to apply to USA again? Also, is there a way he can clear his self with UK? Maybe a letter from them. It was only that very visa that was cancelled and if he applied to UK again he may be issue another, but what can be done to apply for USA again without them making reference to the first reason. What can he do? Please, someone should advise. |

Assalam Alaykum waramatullahi wabarakatu. My name is Abdullahi |
My name is Islam (Poem)[/size][size=8pt] Let me, introduce myself. My name, is Islam. The root word of peace- salam, Or even salema- meaning submission. Which to a Muslim, is like his tuition. It’s his ticket in, But before I begin, Let me greet you, like I’m supposed to do, So Assalamu alaikum, may peace be upon you! You know? It’s kinda’ funny… I’m accused of oppressing, when really I’m oppressed. I’ve become on the list of things to detest. I’m screamed in rage, in almost every protest, & I’ve become the “red scare“, a “threat to the west“. You see? If you look at me, and all my obligations, You’ll see why I have such a great population, It’s cause there’s the motivation, And that sense of inspiration, That keeps “Muslim” as their occupation. To me, being a good Muslim means being a good person. ’cause I’ll never ask you to kill or to slay, Or to lie at least 5 times a day. I’ll never ask you steal, or to hate, Or to swear or discriminate. I actually tell you to smile to everyone you see, Cause a smile’s the best form of charity. I tell you to not smoke and not to drink, To stay clean and take showers so you simply don’t stink. I tell you to care for animals and treat them with care, So yes, I’m against animal testing & abuse in case you weren’t aware. I tell you to treat those who treat you bitter…better. I tell you not to be mad at someone for more than 3 days, I tell you to respect women and lower your gaze. I tell you that paradise lies under the feet of your mother, I tell you to passionately love your significant other. I tell you to never mistreat your wife! I mean…if I tell you to care for animals, then what about the love of your life? I tell you to be precious, and save yourself for the “one”. So you don’t keep giving yourself away…till you’re literally done. I tell you to be moderate and that balance is key, Just in the middle is the perfect place to be. I tell you to excel in all that you do, From that essay to that slam-dunk too! I tell you to clear your ignorance and to never judge, To love for your bro what you love for yourself; & to never hold a grudge. I tell you how to be a good person. A person of peace, and a person of love. -& They say I’m a terrorist, An extremist. And you know what? I am. I am a terrorist; I terrorize terror, I kill injustice to make this world fairer. I am an extremist; I am extremely kind. So beware of my extreme benevolence, to all of mankind. Yes, there are those who kill and bomb in my name, But if I don’t approve, then why am I to be blamed? In every religion, you’ll find those who abuse it, Thinking they have a permit, To do wrong. A religion maybe perfect, but the followers may not be. So when mine commit mistakes, don’t blame it on me. I give what I got, and what I got is good. So if they do otherwise…they misunderstood. & I’m not here to preach, I’m only here to teach. I’m a professor in politics, economy and sociology. In manners and etiquette, I got my PHD. To all my teachings, I have two sources. The book of God, and the words of the prophet are my resources. I teach for free and to whoever desires to learn, It’s all for the sake of Allah, I ask for nothing in return. & Listen, I’m not here to convert, but just to clear misconceptions. With the way I’m viewed and my common perception. Because yes, it hurts when I’m literally abused, By some, who do it for pleasure, just to be amused. & By some, who just follow the “trend” cause they’re clearly confused. In a nutshell, my name is Islam, And everything I do, goes back to Salam… peace. & so as your prof, I need to make sure you pass this test called Life. |

LabiaDestroyer:When you don't know story behind each verse revelation, all you can do is read the abstract and complete the story. many of the verses you have quoted were revealed in accordance to the the situation them Muslim found themselves then. They were being oppressed in their own father land. I would have quote some verses from the Christian books to taint your religion as you people have different version of Bible but I am not here to rubbish your religion. i have Christian as family members. Mind you, in arab countries do you hear of any news regarding christains/jews or atheist being deprived of freedom to live as regard their beliefs? Just stop finding faults in other people live and lets all make the world a better place to live. If you find that impossible to do, you can take up arms to and start doing as you please just in the name of revenge or protection. One thing is certain that we will all be responsible for our deeds on that Judgement day. No body to blame except ourselves, no excuse to save anyone. If you care about life after death you know what to believe and how to live your life. If it is really about killing to earn paradise, the world will be dead already. I didnt read the references you made as i understand you dont know the tafsir/science of Quran. |
Judicial System of Islam: A third major area of misconceptions about Islam is that of the Islamic judicial system, which is considered unnecessarily harsh. This assumption is weak in two respects. First, it presupposes that human beings are more just and more merciful than the Creator, and therefore we can change the law. Second, it is often based on gross oversimplifications of Islamic law, such as saying: "all thieves get their hands cut off!" The Quran and Sunnah make it clear that the law of retaliation (or equality) governs us for murder and physical injury, but forgiveness is better as the following verses from the Quran show; Allah Says (what means): "The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah: for (Allah) loves not those who do wrong. But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. The blame is only against those who oppress men and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice: for such there will be a grievous penalty. And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due to courage." [Quran 42:40-43] The Creator ordained the law of retaliation for us, knowing full well that we might question it. In many non-Muslim societies today, there are ongoing debates about the death penalty. In Islam, this discussion is moot: The Creator has decided the matter for us. He has however given us an interesting verse in the Quran, which advises to consider the matter carefully if we want to understand it; the verse says (which means): "And there is life for you in (the law of) retaliation, O people of understanding, that you may guard yourselves." [Quran 2:179] Most people are also unaware of the stringent conditions, which must be met for the law of retaliation to be applicable. The Sunnah is full of examples of the Messenger of Allah showing us when the law's preconditions were fulfilled. For example, a thief is only liable to lose his or her hand if the stolen item exceeds a certain value, and if it is proven that the item was taken from its normal resting place. Stealing food is not punishable by the loss of one's hand, and other items are exempt as well. This is just an example of how carefully the law is applied in Islam. Moreover, it must be clarified that penalties in Islam are meant to establish peace and security for the society. The Sword of Islam: Finally, another reason advanced for this prevalent misconception is that Islam `spread by the sword'. It should be clear by now that we must always distinguish between the Quran and Sunnah and the Muslims, when it comes to determining what the Creator has asked of us. Allah has stated clearly in the Quran (which means): "There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever rejects Satan (and what he calls to) and believes in Allah, he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handhold, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing." [Quran 2:256] Hence, it is impossible to accept Islam under duress. Even if misguided Muslims were to try to `force' Islam somehow on others, based on the previous verse, it would not be accepted by the Creator. Historical arguments that try to demonstrate that Muslims did not `convert others by force' are actually secondary to the argument given above. However, it is worth noting that historically, Islam did spread by peaceful means. The Message of the Creator was introduced in Africa and southeast Asia by trading Muslims. People started converting to Islam in big numbers when the Muslims liberated them from the clutches of the cruel rulers, who used to tax then heavily and loot precious belongings from them whenever they wished. Today the largest Muslim country in the world is Indonesia. The military expeditions that led to the conquest of large swathes of territory in Europe and central Asia were all marked by tolerance of other creeds and faith. By Qais bin Zayed |
Islam is portrayed as a religion of “terror” and “killing”, yet this is just one of the most widely held misconceptions about Islam. Allah Almighty states unambiguously in the Quran (what means): "Nor take life -- which Allah has made sacred -- except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand retaliation or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life, for he is helped (by the Law)." [Quran 17:33] Based on this verse, it is Islamically unlawful to murder anyone who is innocent of any crime. At this point, we would do well to remember the distinction between the Quran and Sunnah, and the Muslims. Only the Quran and Sunnah are guaranteed to be in accordance with what the Creator desires, whereas the Muslims may possibly deviate. Hence, if any Muslim kills an innocent person, that Muslim has committed a grave sin, and the action cannot be claimed to have been committed "in the name of Islam." It should be clear, then, that the oft-used term "Muslim terrorist" is almost an oxymoron: by killing innocent people, a Muslim is committing a grave sin, and Allah is Just. This phrase is offensive and demeaning of Islam, and it should be avoided. It is hoped that as the general level of public awareness and understanding of Islam increases, people will keep "terrorism" and "Islam" separate from each other, and not use them in the same phrase. Jihaad or Holy War? Another misunderstood Islamic concept is that the Creator has imposed `Jihaad' on us. The term "holy war" has come from the time of the Crusades, and originated in Europe as a rallying cry against the Muslims in Jerusalem. Jihaad is an Arabic word, meaning struggle, but in the context of many verses in the Quran, it carries the meaning of military struggle or war. Allah gradually introduced the obligation of military struggle to the Muslim community at the time of the Messenger . The first verse ever revealed in that connection is as follows, (which means): "Permission (to fight) is given to those upon whom war is made because they are oppressed, and most surely Allah is well able to assist them." [Quran 22: 39] This verse lays down the precondition for all wars in Islam: there must exist certain oppressive conditions on the people. The Creator unequivocally orders us to fight oppression and persecution, even at the expense of bloodshed as the following verse shows in which Allah Says (what means): "And fight in the cause of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah) until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the reward of the unbelievers. But if they desist, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah, but if they desist, then there should be no hostility except against the oppressors." [Quran 2:190-192] As one might imagine, the method of military struggle has been clearly and extensively defined in the Quran and Sunnah. Since this is a vast subject, we can simply summarize part of it by noting that it is unlawful to kill women, children, the sick, the old and the innocent. From the Sunnah, we find: Narrated 'Abdullaah, may Allah be pleased with him: "During some of the battles of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah's Apostle disapproved the killing of women and children." [Al-Bukhari] A related misconception about Jihaad is often propagated by Muslims who say that: "Jihaad is only for self-defense of physical borders." The Quran and Sunnah refute this notion categorically. As the verses cited above show, Jihaad is obligatory wherever there is injustice, and Muslims need not acknowledge imaginary lines around the earth when it comes to upholding this obligation. The Messenger of Allah has also commented on this extensively in the Sunnah. From the study of the Sunnah, we find: Narrated Abu Moosaa, may Allah be pleased with him: "A man came to the Prophet and asked: 'A man fights for war booty; another fights for fame and a third fights for showing off; which of them fights in Allah's Cause?' The Prophet said: "He who fights that Allah's Word (i.e. Islam) should be superior, fights in Allah's Cause." [Al-Bukhari] Hence, the Creator obligates us to fight wherever people are being deprived of freely hearing or practicing the Message of Allah, as contained in the Quran and Sunnah. Sayyid Qutb, a famous Muslim scholar eloquently discusses the notion of Jihaad and self-defense in his book Milestones: "If we insist on calling Islamic Jihaad a defensive movement, then we must change the meaning of the word `defense' and mean by it `defense of man' against all those elements which limit his freedom. These elements take the form of beliefs and concepts, |
2:191) Kill them whenever you confront them and drive them out from where they drove you out. (For though killing is sinful) wrongful persecution is even worse than killing. 202 Do not fight against them near the Holy Mosque unless they fight against you; but if they fight against you kill them, for that is the reward of such unbelievers. 202. Here the word fitnah is used in the sense of 'persecution'. It refers to a situation whereby either a person or a group is subjected to harassment and intimidation for having accepted, as true, a set of ideas contrary to those currently held, and for striving to effect reforms in the existing order of society by preaching what is good and condemning what is wrong. Such a situation must be changed, if need be, by the force of arms. Bloodshed is bad, but when one group of people imposes its ideology and forcibly prevents others from accepting the truth, then it becomes guilty of an even more serious crime. In such circumstances, it is perfectly legitimate to remove that oppressive group by the force of arms. (2:192) Then if they desist, know well that Allah is Ever-Forgiving, Most Compassionate. 203 203. God, in whom the believers have faith, is forgiving and ready to pardon even the worst criminals and sinners after they have renounced their arrogant defiance towards Him. It is suggested that this attribute of God should be reflected in the behaviour of the believers as well. As the saying goes: 'Mould your morals according to the attributes of God.' Hence, Whenever the believers have to resort to armed conflict, they should do so not for the sake of quenching their thirst for vengeance but in the cause of God's religion. Their conflict with any group should last only as long as that group resists the cause of God. As soon as it gives up this resistance hostility should cease. (2:193) Keep on fighting against them until mischief ends and the way prescribed by Allah prevails. 204 But if they desist, then know that hostility is directed only against the wrong-doers. 205 204. Here the term fitnah is used in a different sense from the one in which it was used above see( verse 191 ). It is evident from the context that fitnah refers here to the state of affairs wherein the object of obedience is someone other than God. Hence the purpose of a believer's fighting is that this fitnah should cease and obedience should be consecrated to God alone. An investigation of the usages of the word din (which occurs in this verse) reveals that the core of its meaning is obedience. In its technical usage, the word refers to that system of life which arises as a result of a person recognizing someone as his Lord and Sovereign and committing himself to following his commands and ordinances. This explanation of the word din makes it quite clear that when some human beings establish their godhead and absolute dominance over others, this state of affairs is one of fitnah. Islam seeks to put an end to this and replace it by a state of affairs in which people live in obedience to the laws of God alone. 205. What is meant here by 'desisting' is not the abandonment of unbelief and polytheism on the part of the unbelievers but rather their desistance from active hostility to the religion enjoined by God. The unbeliever, the polytheist, the atheist, has each been, empowered to hold on to his beliefs and to worship who and whatever he wishes. In order to deliver these people from their error, Muslims are required to counsel them and tell them where their good lies. But Muslims ought not to try to achieve this purpose by resorting to force. At the same time, these misguided people have no right to either enforce the false laws of their own contriving instead of the laws of God or to drive the people of God to bondage of others than God. In order to put an end to this fitnah, both persuasion and force be used, whenever and to the extent to which each of the two is needed, and a true believer will not rest until the unbelievers give up this fitnah. The statement that hostility is meant only against wrong-doers seems to imply that when the true system of life replaces the false one, ordinary people should be granted a general amnesty. At the same time, however, it would be justifiable to punish those who exceeded all limits in their hostility to the Truth, at the time when they held the reins of power. Yet in dealing with such people, it becomes the true believers, after they have one final victory, to adopt a general attitude of forgiveness and tolerance towards the vanquished rather than subject them to revenge for the wrongs they committed in the past. Those criminals whose records were exceptionally bad could, however, be punished. The Prophet (peace be on him), availed himself of this permission in respect of some notorious enemies whose hostility had exceeded all limits, even though pardon and forgiveness behoved none more than him. Thus 'Uqbah ibn Abi Mu'avt and Nadr b. Harith from among the captives of the Battle of Badr were put to death and when a general amnesty, was proclaimed after the conquest of Makka four out of seventeen persons were executed. (See Ibn Hisham, vol. 1, p. 644 and vol. 2, pp. 409 ff. - Ed.) These acts were based on the permission to put to the sword those who have been conspicuously ruthless in their hostility to Islam and the Muslims. LabiaDestroyer |
LabiaDestroyer:(2:190) Fight in the way of Allah 200 against those who fight against you but do not transgress, 201 for Allah does not love transgressors. 200. The believers are asked to fight those who hindered their efforts in the cause of God, and acted with hostility towards them merely because they sought to fashion human life according to the revealed guidance of God. Earlier, when they were weak and scattered, the Muslims were asked merely to preach and be patient with the wrongful repression meted out to them by their opponents. However, now that a small city state had been established in Madina they were commanded for the first time to unsheathe their swords against those who had resorted to armed hostility against their movement of reform. It was some time after this injunction that the Battle of Badr took place, to be followed by several other battles. 201. The believers are told that material interests should not be the motivation for their fighting, that they should not take up arms against those who were not in opposition to the true faith, that they should not resort to unscrupulous methods or to the indiscriminate killing and pillage which characterized the wars of the pre-Islamic era, the Age of Ignorance. The excesses alluded to in this verse are acts such as taking up arms against women and children, the old and the injured, mutilation of the dead bodies of the enemy, uncalled-for devastation through the destruction of fields and livestock, and other similar acts of injustice and brutality. In the Hadith all these acts have been prohibited. The real intent of the verse is to stress that force should be used only when its use is unavoidable, and only to the extent that is absolutely necessary. |

falopey:the incident that happened in Nice, don't forget that the first victim to lose her life was a Muslim and Arab. The incident that happened in kubwa Nigerian Media: Truth versus Reality In the past few days, the hearts of genuine citizens of our great nation have bled over the news of the killing of a female Christian preacher by alleged Muslim fanatics in Kubwa area of the FCT, Abuja. I was actually alerted by a friend's ext message because although i reside in the affected area, i was far away in Ibadan, Oyo State, as at the time of the incident. As an average concerned Nigerian, i thought, when will this nation be free from religious and ethnic crises? But as a journalist and one with eye for investigation, i knew i had a duty at hand. So, on my return to the city, i visited the particular street, the particular spot, conducted personal investigation and secret interviews, and made several findings. I became sad! Why? Most of the information doled out by our media are NOT TRUE! For the avoidance of doubt, there was no evidence of anyone present when the woman died. Witnesses only said they met her dead. Secondly, i did not find anyone to confirm that any part of the woman was missing or mutilated. I talked with one who saw the corpse early that morning, with two policemen, before the news went viral. Thirdly, there was no mosque in that street or behind the spot. Fourthly, the vicinity had been under the torment of cultism in the past few months, in fact, two separate persons were found killed and dumped in the area recently, one of them on the street adjacent this particular one. The police is actually on the trail of s notorious cult who is believed to have sneaked into and hiding in the area. The police is insisting that they met the corpse body intact. But, alas! What my colleagues wrote were terrifying. In fact, it revived hatred, instigated religious intolerance and personal mistrust. I am sure many of you journalists who wrote the story were not in Abuja, you just received the news from friends and forwarded to your headquarters, which also did not verify before going to press. I also know that many of those in Abuja then did not visit the place, nor conduct proper investigation. For an issue as critical as religion and ethnicity, most of you goofed! The media is an indefatigable player in nation building, and no society is firmly built on negligence and mistrust as being displayed by our journalists. But, the media houses too are at fault. Most of them pay peanuts for staff while the few at the top swim in affluence. Where, then, is the resource and motivation for the reporter to carry out investigative reporting and due diligence. To survive, many journalists are pipers in the hands of politicians, religious leaders and businessmen and even government, who dictate their tune. Yet, the masses are at the receiving end because they naturally hold on to the news from the media. It is a hell a times, to change the people's perception on issues, over which our media had made serious blunders. I had had to show identity cards to some, before they agree to reason along the right perspective. The corruption on the media is much, but our colleagues can just help hold on to the truth. I have a question concern the phobia igbo has for other tribes. They are not welcoming and friendly. If u happen to find yourself in the locality and you open a store for business, if they see u doing well they will frustrate u out of business. Imo for example, since you are not part of them. But look at south west, all tribes have the freedom to do business and even compete with the indigenous business men/women without facing treat. But in the south south, south east, you may be the only one experiencing robbery among numerous business stores. |
