10 tips that can make you earn more on fiverr

Unfortunately, there is no magic to being successful on Fiverr and I can’t guarantee anything but it is possible to earn up to $500 or more on fiverr per month with just 4 hours of work daily this method has made people rich on Fiverr. Here are the 10 most important things that you can practices to get more sales:

1. Your profile picture is very important
People on Fiverr like to hire someone that they can relate to. I had a picture of my 18 years old face as my profile picture for a few weeks and it was fine but I decided to start testing different pictures. I found an image of a friendly looking male and female on the internet and used that as my profile picture and my sales jumped almost immediately. People want to feel like they are hiring someone trustworthy. Some of you might think this is unethical but I don’t see any issue with it. I am simply playing on human tendencies to trust a kind and friendly looking face. Marketing companies do this all the time.

2. Having an animated video explaining your gig
This technique has conversion rate of about 20% better than using an image. The good thing about Fiverr is that anything you need to improve your gig is probably sold by someone else on Fiverr for a few bucks. And trust me, it’s worth the investment. I paid someone on Fiverr $25 to make a quick 30 second video and paid someone else $10 to do a voice-over for it. The video was simple and to the point and I noticed my conversion rate moved from 1.43%to 6% in 3 days.

3. CAPITALIZE one word that you want to draw attention to.
It’s important to highlight a keyword in your title so you can draw user’s attention to the purpose of your gig. This will allow people to glance at your title and immediately understand what you’re selling. Fiverr allows you to capitalize one word in your title so you should make sure you’re using this tool and use it effectively. “I will design a LOGO in my style” vs. “I will design a logo in my style” see the difference?

4. Test different categories for your gig and measure which one converts best.
I tried a few different categories before landing on the one that had the least competition and ranked my gig the best in the search results. The category that might seem best fitting doesn’t always drive the most traffic. Try to avoid the “other” category if possible.

5. Highlight, bold, italics.
All of these things will draw attention to certain words and make your gig description much easier to read and understand. Don’t just write plain text. Try to keep your gig description short, sweet and to the point. Keep in mind that most people won’t read the description, especially if you have big blocks of text. Break it down into small chunks and use bullet points wherever you can. It’s important that you let people know in your description to contact you if they don’t see what they’re looking for. This will help prevent order cancellations which reflect negatively on your seller profile.

6. Communication is Key
Write formally whenever speaking with a customer and be overly nice. People appreciate professionalism and good customer service. There’s no reason for typos, long response times or improperly formatted messages.
Here’s a basic example: Hi (customer’s username),
Thank you for reaching out to me! I will be happy to (what they contacted you about)! smiley
Do you have any examples of what you’d like or specifications about? the project?
(If you have enough information already, SEND AN OFFER!)
Best,
(Your Name)
(Your Username)

7. Test your pricing
Don’t assume anything when it comes to pricing or what your customers will pay. It’s always important to test different price points until you find a sweet spot. I noticed that when I raised my prices I had fewer customers but I was making more money. I also tested different pricing structures like the threetier pricing or having a base price with gig extras. I personally found that three tiers make it easier for customers to understand the value. If your product can be broken down, try offering three different options using the good, better and best pricing model. This will allow you to provide a service for every budget. If you’re new to Fiverr, I’d recommend over delivering in value until you achieve level 1 seller status. This means pricing your service cheaper than other listings so people will feel more comfortable choosing you over an established seller. If you do this, you will make your money back tenfold in the future.

8. Show a lot of examples and use good pictures.
Buyers like to see examples of other work that you’ve done so make sure you provide as many examples as possible. Make your pictures pop! Consider paying someone on Fiverr to create eye-catching images for your gig.

9. Sell a commercial license as a gig extra.
An easy way to make extra money is to sell a “commercial license” which is kind of a joke in my opinion since we’re not lawyers and we don’t have the ability to give licenses but people will happily pay extra for it.

10. Being active in the community forum will help get you noticed.
Answer questions or occasionally comment on posts in the Fiverr forum. This is also a great place to get advice from other sellers. You never know where your next customer might find you so think of the forum as another place to get discovered.

NOTE: The tips I mentioned above won’t benefit you if no one can see your gigs. Fiverr ranks gigs in their search engine based on several factors and it’s constantly being changed so I would suggest reading about Fiverr’s most recent algorithm and find ways to make it favor you. The most important factor is having great customer reviews and a low amount of gig cancellations.

If everyone that buys from you is happy and leaves a good review, then Fiverr’s algorithm will assume that you don’t suck and will direct more traffic in your direction. It’s better to cancel a gig than to receive a bad review but neither will benefit you, so avoid both if possible.

Thanks for your time reading this and I hope it helps you to make more income and high conversion rate on fiverr.

Thanks for your time reading this and I hope it helps you to make more income and high conversion rate on fiverr.

thanks you for your own opinion do live with it, when you are less busy you can take your time to review hierarchy of trending scripting language from 2017 -present and also hope to put in mind that what you do with a programming language is what count not what a programming language can do. you can also check out the percentage of job postings that mention Ruby on Rails versus comparable web development tools like Node.js, Python Django, and PHP Laravel.

asalimpo:
Actually, you dont know what you are talking about.
Ruby is receding in popularity but to dismiss it as obsolete (as fortran) is typing without thinking.
What makes ruby inferior to any modern scripting language?
Fortran is still being used but not in mainstream developmnt. It has qualities modern shiny languages cant match.

10 tips that can make you earn more on fiverr

After my previous article on practical Guide on web development for 2019 I promise to write tips on how to make more income on Fiverr so here we go
Unfortunately, there is no magic to being successful on Fiverr and I can’t guarantee anything but I’ll show you that it is possible to earn up to $500 or more on fiverr per month with just 4 hours of work daily this method has made people rich on Fiverr. Here are the 10 most important things that I learned to get more sales:

1. Your profile picture is very important

People on Fiverr like to hire someone that they can relate to. I had a picture of my 22yearold face as my profile picture for a few weeks and it was fine but I decided to start testing different pictures. both language are very superb and they both have strength in different areas but since you are already learning CSS then i will assume you know HTML so at this stage i can advice to learn web development which implies that learning Javascript along now is a ++ than starting new with python so you can learn JS now for this year and it will be very easy to switch python (you need to know something all programming language are same what differentiate them is their syntax and application) so you can continue with your JS and master it

Thanks boss, I'm a newbie...still learning Css which language do you recommend python or Js, I thing I like JS but your advice will appreciated....

Practical guide to web development part 2

Hi it me once again hope you enjoy the first part of the article practical guide to web development part 1. (which was geared toward frontend Development) if you are reading this and have not read part 1 this is the link https://www.nairaland.com/4941764/practical-guide-web-development-2019

This is a continuation of part 1 which is part 2 of the guide, I will be discussing about the back-end technologies so let get started.
Base on trends in 2018 there were so many web technologies that spring up and some that really made a hit in the market. So to get started as a full stack web developer you must have mastered the skill set in part 1

so what next?

SERVER SIDE LANGUAGE (choose one or two)

To be a full stack or software engineer you will need to learn server-side languages/technologies. There are major 5 language I will look into which are (Node.js, Python, PHP, C# and GO Lang) there is something you need to know node JS is not a language it a runtime library basically a JS that run on the server.

a. Node JS: basically it what I would recommend because it one of the hot cake in the market and not only that it is supper fast, non-blocking, reliable and it JavaScript.

b. So additional server language I can recommend is python which is also super strong and it one of the top language when dealing with machine learning, Data analysis or science, artificial intelligence (thou JavaScript is coming up in this area and tensorflow.JS might be the next trend to watch out for in this field) and also if you are a beginner to programming I will advise you to learn python it the simplest language on earth it just like writing English.

c. PHP hmmm a lot of people now say PHP is shit because it fading away but mind you it a powerful language of the web. What is actual keeping PHP is the likes of WordPress and framework like laravel which is built on PHP and it still quite popular.
Some people might be wondering why ruby is not on the list it actually saying you are a modern programmer that is learning Fortran (LOL)

Recommend NODE.JS and PYTHON (Things to learn are fundamental syntax, Structure and Workflow, Package Management, HTTP/Routing).

SERVE SIDE FRAMEWORKS

In part 1 of this article I explained how frameworks makes our coding easier and faster and I also recommend to always learn the language before the framework giving you better understanding about twerking your codes. Base on the previous context above which I recommend Node.Js and Python there are many frameworks for this languages which we have (Node.js (Express, Koa, Adonis), Python (Django, Flask), PHP (Laravel, Symfony) and C#( ASP.NET)). There are so many frameworks in the market for this languages. So the ones I put in bracket are majorly used ones by developers, also core languages cannot just build a whole great web app you need to learn some frameworks which plays a big row.

So for Nodejs I will highly recommend you start with (Express) and python(Django) if you want to learn PHP and don’t want to get scary of the syntax then laravel is the only way and mind you it a very strong language and the support for it is dynamically strong Out of the Recommended frameworks you only need to learn one, become a master in it and you can now dive to other languages.

DATABASE (choose one or two)

Most application will use some kind of database. There are different types, here are some in options
a. Relational Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL) recommended (PostgreSQL)
b. NoSQL (MongoDB, Couchbase) recommended (MongoDB) father of all database
c. Cloud base (Firebase, AWS,Azure) ) recommended (firebase) mostly use when you web app does not required to store large number of data
d. Lightweight base (SQlite, NeDB, Redis)

SERVER RENDERED PAGES

It possible to use Frameworks like React, Vue and Angular on the server side which can also render on the server and it thus actually make things relatively easier. Major ones are
a. Next.js (react) which is actually growing and as a developer watch out for this framework it will be the hotcake by mid-2019,
b. Nuxt.js (Vue) and
c. Angular Universal (angular).

This are the technologies that are trending now and will also be trending in 2019 if you are yet to acquire the skills do now. Recommended Next.js or Nuxt.js

CMS (content management system)

I have meet a lot of developers who actually don’t like CMS system, but in real sense content management allow for quick development and give your client the ability to update their content themselves on the web instead of chasing the developer themselves. It May not be a bad idea to pick one up (you can start and improve yourself with freelancing) so in this category we have
a. PHP based (Wordpress or Drupal)
b. JS based (Ghost or Keystone)
c. Python based (Mezzaine)
d. .NET (orchard CMS)
From the list above you are only expected to master one but I will support JS based but will highly recommend PHP base (WordPress) it like a cheat code to CMS and mostly use for blogs

DEVOPS, DEPLOYMENT AND MORE

Learning programming languages and frameworks is one thing, and setting up environment for those language to communicate with each other like testing and deployment is another. So for
a. Deployment (linux, SSH, GIT, Server software (Nginx, Apache)) recommended is Nginx we all grew up with Apache but Nginx is the trend now
b. Plartform (Digital ocean, AWS, Heroku, Azure) recommended heroku
c. Virtualization (Docker, Vagrant) recommended Docker

But every organizations have their own favorite but it also good to know the basic
In summary if you are able to go this far and probably have knowledge of about 70% of this tools you are a frigging rockstar!!!!! With this skill you should be able to

1. Setup full stack dev environment and workflows
2. Build back-end APs and micro service
3. Work with database
4. Construct full-stack apps
5. Deploy to cloud etc.

Mind you all of this are not really easy to learn it comes with a price but within 8month you could cover all of them if you dedicate your time well 3month for frontend 4month for backend and will advise you if you are coming into programming don’t rush into it or else you will rush out, look for mentors and advisers that has worked in the field they will really help you and most especially try knowing the basic it the most relevant and attend tech events 98% of them are free follow the likes of techpoint, GDG, Devfest, CODE etc. on twitter you can get to see people ready to mentor you or properly land your first Developer role.

So am Damilare (Frontend DEV) a guy who is so much interested in how people interact with technology you can follow me on twitter @steve_darey I do follow back

my next article will be on freelance how to make about $200 every week as a freelancer WATCH OUT! DONT MISS IT

Xcore91:
I will say it good you start with python but on going with current technology base on my own opinion using python for web development is stronger and lighter using framework like django or flask but if you will stick with your python i recommend django for Python web development. the likes of wikipedia, google, youtube, fiveer where built using python

base on your question JavaScript can now be use for client and server side deployment thank God for different web technologies coming up the likes of angular, react and vuefor client side (major one but there are many more ) also vue.js and node is (server side major ones ) . and people now use react and vue for server side now with some crazy dependences and library .

despite the current form of PHP which is gradually fading away but I still see it as a very strong language too for server side deployment due to strong support of laravel framework but keep in mind 70% of ecommerce sites you see today were built with PHP and facebook was also built with PHP but some of there pages are now rebuilt with react but PHP was the backbone of facebook

but given you a recommendation I will choose you go for JS base on the current trend of web technologies. the likes of react and veu js can now be use to write android application which we all usually depend on java for also JS is also gaining stand gradually in artificial intelligence we now have the likes of tensorflow js and co for artificial intelligence development

so in all JS is the way

before end of the week I will be dropping an article on web development for 2019 which will be a guide for upcoming web developers

if all goes well too will launch NL 100 days of code for ( for front end web engineer)

learning markup language HTML5 and CSS3 and SASS

client side javascript with angular

Practical guide for Web development 2019 Part 1

Introduction

I do Welcome each and every one of us to year 2019, I decided to put some practical guide for web development for 2019, the necessary tools needed and how to move from a front-end developer to a full stack developer this guide is maiming for people who are interested in web development or about to start a career in web development. This is part 1, it contain information needed to be a front end developer.

What is in this guide?

This guide is a step by step guide to all of the major technologies that are involve in becoming a front-end developer in 2019. I will discuss about what is needed for this role, types of frameworks which I think will be of great help if you want to pursue a career in web design and development. It not necessary to learn all of this technologies to be a web developer, this guide simply lay out options in categorize way to help you find your path.

A. Basic tools for web development

Your basic tools are basically what you need to build a web page below are listed basic tools to get started with

1.Text editor or ide: For text editor and IDE there are various big options in the market. I commonly see developers use VScode, Sublime text and Atom. Atom is quite good but it kind of fading away due to its performance issue and it not even a light weight application.
Recommended ( VScode)

2. Web browser: After writing your codes you will probably need a browser to display your web pages, also you need to know that browsers are not just there to display webpages, they also serve as tools for debugging as far as web browser is concern the popular one are chrome, Firefox and safari or Edge.
Recommend (Chrome)

3. Design & mockup (UI/UX design)
This categories of tools are not actually necessary but it kind of important if you want to be a front end developer, it help you to design your web layout before you start kicking out to write your codes. For years Photoshop has been one of the best tools for this categories but other tools like adobe XD, sketch, figma are also spring up.
Recommend (Adobe XD) it own by the popular adobe it was one of the trending UI/UX tools for 2018 and it is geared more for making UI than Photoshop it has a clean interface and very easy to learn which you can probably learn under 2 weeks.

B. Building blocks

The first two web technologies you will be learning are HTML and CSS which are the fundamental and building block of the web. Every webpage you see on the web has HTML and CSS implemented in some way. You also need to know that HTML and CSS are not programming language they are mockup languages. What to learn include: Semantic HTML5 elements, Basic CSS (positioning box model etc.), Flexbox & CSS Grid, CSS Variables (optional).

Responsive web layout: Responsive layout is no longer a luxury or an optional development it now a necessity because the growth of mobile device is high and people visit the internet mostly on mobile platform then on a laptop, so responsive web design is compulsory. Guide for achieving these are: Set viewport ,Fluid widths, Use media queries and Rem over px (I see a lot of developers use px but for font size I recommend rem over px ).

C. Basic deployment

Then you need to learn how to deploy static website to web servers and for the end user to be able to access it. You basically need to know the following
1. Register a domain name: (there are various domain name register service out there you can try out our own indigenous companies whogohost, hostcabal etc and also on the foreign side namecheap or godaddy ).
2. Web hosting: there are various hosting types which are shared host, virtual private server cloud hosting you can also check out the one listed above they also offer good and cheap hosting service

D. Programming of the web

You will probably want to learn a programming language for the web, JavaScript will be your first language to learn and you will need to learn JavaScript without any framework. I usually advice people to learn the core language before bouncing on frameworks. So you will need to learn Datatypes, functions conditions loops operators, array, objects etc., DOM manipulation (which is the most important), Json and how to fetch API

So when you learn all the following HTML CSS and JavaScript you can practicaly call yourself an average frontend web developer, so with this skill you will be able to Build UI layouts, build static websites and add dynamic functionality with JavaScript (modals, slideshows, etc.) Deploy and maintain websites. With this it is possible to find an entry level job, but base on competition you are likely going to need to learn and know more. with this you can try out freelancing and set up some basic gig and it will help you to get more experience along the line. I will also write an article on the freelancing soon and they are better site than fiverr and upwork to make cool money online.

E. Frontend Frameworks

What to do next now depends on what you want to do, there are so many choices to make after this which involve learning HTML/CSS frameworks, Frontend JS Framework (angular, react etc.) and Server side languages and database (PHP, nodes etc.) Frameworks makes coders life or job very easier to construct and also great for prototyping. There are many types of HTML/CSS frameworks, but you only need to know one out of the following
1. Bootstrap 4 (owned by twitter)
2. Materialize (owned by Google)
3. Bulma

From the listed above I will recommend bootstrap it simple, light, super fast and very easy to learn. moreover, different organization might require you to learn others if you want to work for them but I majorly recommend those 3 listed above but knowing one is enough.
As you progress more in learning other framework you will also need to learn basic command lines, Git(for version control), NPM (for installing packages).

It becoming a necessity to learn a JS frontend framework because it becoming very popular in the industry, more interactive and interesting UI component, modular frontend code and also good for teams. The three most common use in the industries are
1. React- most popular in the industries (owned by Facebook)
2. Vue (ease to use and really gaining traction)
3. Angular (angular owned but fading a bit due to lack of community support it mostly used in enterprise)

But from the three listed above you will only need to know one but I will recommend react it hot-cake in the market and there is a lot of support for this language and the native version of this app is now use to build mobile applications that can be used for android and Ios(apple) application and also create great web application. But you can also try out any of the 3 and feel free to use any of them.I might say angular is fading because of it losing popularity but it also a great language to learn.

So I will stop here for now it becoming lengthy and prepare the part 2 of this article which will focus more on server side of web development which we know as backend thanks for taking your time to read
