Jobs/VacanciesFayose> Publish The Names Of The 5000naira Beneficiaries...gov Tells Buhari by Xanth01(op): 4:00pm On Jan 04, 2017
"Publish the names of the beneficiaries of N5K," Gov tells Buhari
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has requested for the names of the beneficiaries of the N5000 stipend the President Muhammad buhari administration has reportedly started giving poor Nigeria.
The vocal governor reportedly challenged President Buhari to publish the names of the beneficiaries, which includes the poor and the uneducated, people who never had a chance to experience formal education, go to universities and get good jobs... if truly the FG had distributed such funds since December 30, 2016.

Fayose, who claimed to have already started paying the poor residents of Ekiti the sum of N1000, said only All Progressive Congress-led states will publicly agree to the claims by he FG.
The governor went further to say no one in Ekiti has been a beneficiary of the fund even though the state was included as the first nine states to enjoy the facility.
In his words, he said: “A blind man will say it is when it gets into my mouth that I will say you are feeding me, not promises.”
He continued by saying the APC “should come to the reality that Nigerians are hungry and also angry and that Nigerians are no longer interested in empty promises.”
He further accused the ruling party of focusing on 2019 rather than making the country better and said the project was a World Bank own with payment made since 2016.

Jobs/VacanciesPeace Corps To Generate Over 800,000 Jobs For Youths And Undergraduates by Xanth01(op): 3:46pm On Jan 04, 2017
The Commandant-General, Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Dickson Akor, has said that the organisation will generate 800,000 jobs for youths in the country.

Akor, who made this known at a news briefing at his residence in Ogoli-Ugboju, Oturkpo Local Government Area on Wednesday, said the Corp was one of the best channels to engage Nigerian youths.

He, however, said that this would be made possible when the bill establishing the PCN was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The bill, sponsored by Senate Leader, Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC-Borno), was first read at plenary on March 10, 2016 and scaled second reading.

It seeks to facilitate peace volunteerism, community service, neighbourhood watch and nation building.

The bill will also facilitate the training of youths to advance the course of peace building and conflict transformation.

It will engage peace education, mediation and conflict resolution among warring groups or communities where there are crisis in Nigeria to advance its course.

“President Buhari and the Nigerian Army under the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai must be commended for their efforts in capturing Sambissa Forest.

“While I canvas support for the security agencies to engender peace and social order, however, the corps is strategically placed to complement the activities of security agencies,’’ Akor said.

Akor said the corps would be saddled with voluntarism and neighbourhood watch activities in different communities across the country.

He called on Nigerians to learn to live together for peaceful coexistence in 2017.

He said the corps had formations and offices in virtually every state and local government in the country, and described it as one of the best channels to engage youths.

The PCN boss said that he constructed a state-of-the-art police station with closed circuit television and other equipment for the police in his community due to the threatening state of insecurity in the country.

He added that this gesture was aimed at adequately securing Benue and preventing the nasty experiences meted out to the Agatu people and several parts of Tivland.

Akor lauded the spirit of accommodation in his community, and urged that the communities dwell in peaceful coexistence and not in hostility.

“The spirit of accommodation in this community is buttressed by the presence of the Fulanis and the Sarkin Hausawa of Benue South Senatorial District at my residence to celebrate the new year,’’ he said.

He, however, decried the deplorable state of the road passing through Ogoli-Ugboju, leading to Onyagede and Ankpa in Kogi.

He called on the anti-graft agencies to investigate the award of the contract for repair of the road.

Akor said several people, including pregnant women, had died as a result of the delay in accessing medication due to the bad condition of the road.

PoliticsIn Abuja- Mmm-nigeria Donates Relief Materials Worth N5m To Idps by Xanth01(op): 6:49pm On Nov 19, 2016
‘MMM-Nigeria’, a community of mutual financial aid and donations, donated relief materials worth N5 million to two Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the Federal Capital Territory.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gesture was part of the community’s humanitarian week tagged ‘MMM cares’ to mark its one year anniversary n on Saturday, November 19, 2016
The Gwoza and Bama IDP Camp located in Durumi area and the New Kuchingoro IDP camp were the two beneficiaries of the relief materials.

Bags of rice, beans, garri, as well as cartoons of beverages and noodles, were some of the items donated by the group.
The group also donated clothing, drugs, and educational materials for the pupils among them.

Mr Seyi Bello, a Guilder in the ‘MMM Community’ said the donation was motivated by the desire of the group to affect the society positively, especially the less-privileged.
“We are marking our first year anniversary and we have decided to come and celebrate it with our brothers, mothers and children in the camp.

“As a community, we do not only provide help to our members, we also extend that to the larger society as part of our social responsibility.
“In these times of economic challenges, the IDPs are the ones that need help and support more than any other person; that is why we visited them today,” he said.

Bello explained that besides providing help and donations to its members, humanitarian service was a flagship programme of the group.
He said that the relief items were bought from free-will donations of members in their quest to touch lives positively.

He said: “ The N5 million was raised from voluntary donations my members in the FCT.
“That is what defines us as a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence.
“In MMM there are no lenders and no debtors. One participant asks for help, another one helps.’’
Bello appealed to individuals, groups and corporate bodies to always remember the IDPs across Nigeria, since government alone would not be able to provide for them adequately.
“They are our brothers and sisters who have left the comfort of their homes and are now struggling for survival here.
“No matter how little, let us always extend a hand of help to them to complement what government and other donors are doing, “he urged.

Mr Enoch Yohanna, General Secretary of the IDP camp at New Kuchingoro, who received the items, expressed gratitude for the gesture which he described as `timely.’
“ The Christmas season is very close; we thank MMM-Nigeria for bringing these items to us.
“We hope to share them satisfactorily among us for everybody to be happy and have a happy Christmas celebration, “he said.

NAN reports that the visit to the IDPs camps was preceded by a two-hour environmental sanitation by members of the group on Nyanya/Mararaba route, a suburb of the FCT.
Members of the group came out in their numbers to clear garbage from drainages and streets in the area.
