usfreshen: By guy do not pay any body for letter of administration oh, do pay any lawyer and don't pass through any lawyer. When I lost my dad I made that mistake and the lawyer collect 25k from me.the only thing he did was just to take me to the probabate office after filling the form the idiot left me there. It was the staff that works in the probate office that even helped me to facilitate everything and after that I still gave then another addition 10k and the man said I should not have met the lawyer in the first instance. And he advice me that in feature if I have any body that needs letter of administration from any were not to use a lawyer. That best is for them to go to any probabte court we have it all over the 36 state including the f.c.t and process it rather than passing through those so called lawyer...

legalalien: Hey Xavier, i believe i can relate to this. As we speak, I am also assisting my very close friend who lost his father going to 3years to help get his pension payment from IBTC.
Roll on to their office in VI, i know thats were the big branch of IBTC is, dont know the street name tho. Explain to them, i bet they will tell you to open an estate account or go get letter of somefin (cant rememebr the exact word right now) from the highcourt. whatever lawyer you use would assist you in this process, let it be one you know or trust.
after this, it would take about 30days to access your fathers possesion.
this is my 14th day with my friend. actually have to raise money from the letter from the court, about 150- 180k. just round it up to 200k dat you might need to access this funds.

I'm not too sure how these things work. did he work there or is that the company handling his pension account? Eitherway, the next of kin would have been documented and the company is expected to contact the person.

No he worked somewhr else..Ibtc handles d companyPension aaccount.. I hv not been contaacted yet by them.
