Ordabasy vs Torpedo Kutaisi Match date: 11 Jul 2019 | Football - Europa League Ordabasy are fighting for the title in Kazakhstan, which is an improving league in terms of quality. The reputation of Kazakh football has mainly been carried by FC Astana, who remain the main force. Ordabasy, currently a top three side in the country with the best defensive figures, is a very consistent side. They are 6-2-1 at home and have recently beaten Kairat Almaty and Astana, which shows an indication of what they are capable of. Kazakh football is taking small steps, and we are seeing more teams establishing themselves in Europe. Moreover, there are seven international players in this team. Coach Kakhaber Tskhadadze knows everything about their opponents, as he has been in the league himself. Torpedo Kutaisi is a common representative for Georgia when it comes to Europe. This season, the hope is a lot more far fetched. The club is battling financial difficulties and have been forced to let go of players to rival clubs, as for example attacker Nodar Kavtaradze (19/7), and both wing backs Giorgi Kimadze (16/2) and Levan Gegechkori (16/3). Also midfielder Tengiz Tsikaridze (16/3) left. New arrivals joined only in July and August, which are cheaper domestic players. This is a club on the verge of collapsing, and for Georgian football it is a shame - we could already hear this when former Slovakian player Marek Hlinka say that he was shocked by the facilities and quality of the training in Torpedo Kutaisi. No need to go deeper into the mess, the point is clear. The visitors have had an extreme turnover of players and should barely be allowed to compete. Moreover, the new players who arrived have barely had any training together. Ordabasy is a more than decent side, while Torpedo is not ready for Europe, in fact barely ready for their own league. The results they achieved last season is respectable, but in their current state they should be happy if they score a goal against Ordabasy over both legs. I expect an extremely confident home victory, with some margin. |
FK Partizani vs FK Qarabag Match date: 10 Jul 2019 | Football - Champions League Qualifiers Partizani were a side that controlled the title race in Albanian domestic league for the most of the time, closing the title down with eleven points more than second Kukesi. They were the ones who profited from Skenderbeu being kicked out of Europe for many years and not being in a situation to have the biggest possible budget overall anymore. This fact didn't help the growth of Albanian domestic football and surely that Partizani can't even count on entering anywhere close to the Europa League in the end, although they will be having an easier draw. Some changes were seen during summer, as they signed striker Solomon from Ujpest, also on a loan from Crotone a midfielder Romero. Overall, not the quality that could significantly improve them in such a short period. During the pre-season, they have suffered 2:1 loss over Slovenian side Mura. Qarabag, on the other side, won the title in the Azeri league with eight points more than second Neftchi and have ended the season with eight consecutive victories. Abit of a disappointment in the Cup though, as they lost the finals only on away goal rule against Gabala in a 2:2 aggregate score. The team has played the Europa League group stage in a group together with Arsenal, Sporting and Vorskla pulling out a win over Vorskla on the road. No doubt that another entrance into one of two competitions is their target. During the preparation period, they have lost to Ludogorets 2:0 early at the start, drawing against Universitatea Craiova in a goalless match. They also had a 2:1 win over Russian Ufa and have drawn against Plzen 2:2 in the last friendly matches before the official start of the season for them. Some moves were done already regarding the transfer window, as they signed winger Romero from Gijon, and left back Ailton on the loan from Stuttgart. Central back Rzezniczak left them going to Wisla Plock, while Offensive Delarge and Emeghara got released not getting their contracts renewed. There is very little what the Albanian side can offer here to remain undefeated. Individual quality and experience of the players are completely with the visiting team which already shown during the friendly matches that they are quite in-form comparing to a far poorer opponent this time. |

What is European Handicap (EH) In the betting world very often there could be a significant difference in the performance of two teams that are facing each other. Because of many different reasons (many players injured, current financial situation or just better quality of the players) one team can be a huge favorite and therefore odds for this team will be really low. Punters usually don't like to bet on such events, because of the big investment they have to make in order to have some decent profit and respectively the huge risk that comes with the big investment. Therefore bookmakers came up with a way to attract punters to play on these games and it is called a handicap. The European Handicap (EH) basically gives to one team (or player in single sports) advantage before the event has even started. Thus the match starts more even and the odds respectively are more competitive for the two teams (players). European Handicap in details At first, European Handicap might seem confusing and hard to understand, but once you see the logic behind it, it is very simple to use and therefore one of the most popular ways for punters to bet. So let's take a more detailed look into European Handicap. Let's take for example a match between Arsenal and Qarabag from the Europa League. Arsenal is the clear favorite in this match and the odds respectively are not attractive for any bettor. Therefore the bookmakers offer European Handicap to give an advantage to the underdog (+1,+2, etc.) and disadvantage to the “stronger” team (-1,-2, etc.). If you get European Handicap of +2 for the underdog, this means that the they will start with the advantage of 2 goals. If you take European Handicap -2 for the favorite they will start the match with the disadvantage of 2 goals. So the odds with European Handicap would look something like this: Arsenal (-2) @2.60 Draw (+2) @4.00 Qarabag (+2) @1.99 When is your bet winning? If we take the same example the outcomes from the match will be as follow: If you bet on Arsenal -2 your bet will be winning in case Arsenal won by 3 goals or more If you bet on Draw +2 your bet will be winning if Qarabag loose by exactly 2 goals If you bet on Qarabag +2 your bet will be winning in case they win the match, gets in a draw or loses by 1 goal Difference between European Handicap and Asian Handicap There are a couple of significant differences between European Handicap and Asian Handicap (AH). In EH you have a draw option which is not the case with AH. This is the reason it is also called 3-way betting – you can choose between three possible bets. Another significant difference is that EH is always with integer numbers such as -1, -2, -3, etc. This can be directly matched with the number of goals in a match and makes it easier to understand, especially for newbies in the betting world. In AH you will see advantage or disadvantage of 0.25, 0.50, 1.25, 1.50, etc. You can find detailed explanation of Asian Handicap here. Which sports can be bet on with European Handicap Surely football is the most popular sport to play with EH, but not the only one. European Handicap is a great way for bookies to even the strength of two teams/ players in many sports. The essential rules in every sport are the same. For example, in basketball, a team is given an advantage or disadvantage with the number of points. You can find European Handicap in tennis as well, where one of the players has advantage or disadvantage in games and sometimes even in sets. Other sports you will see European Handicap for are volleyball, handball, ice-hockey and sometimes even baseball and American football. |

Brazil vs Argentina Match date: 3 Jul 2019 | Football - Copa America Brazilians didn't show very steady and equal performances looking at their matches separately, but it was still enough for them to clinch the semi-finals. After easy matches against Peru and Bolivia, also a goalless game against Venezuela in the group stage, the side needed penalties series to progress over Paraguay in the quarter-finals. Needless to say, they were the far better side and even had a man more since the 58th minute, but the goals were lacking. Argentina had a very sloppy start in the group stage, suffering 0:2 defeat to Colombia and a 1:1 game against Paraguay. They had a must-win situation over Qatar in order to progress and managed to do it with a 2:0 result. Overall, they didn't look impressive till now and their gameplay isn't fluid, but also have improved over Venezuela in the quarterfinals to get a 2:0 easy win as well. Of course, Venezuela or Qatar cannot be compared to Brazil and the level of their performance is under a huge question mark. Wast improvement in their ball movement is extremely unlikely against an opponent such as Brazil. Richarlison and Fernandinho probably will not be used for the Brazilians this time. Firmino should keep leading their attack in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Argentinians have no reason to change much, almost surely keeping 4-3-1-2 formation with Messi behind Martinez and Aguero as strikers. Brazil didn't shine all the way till here, however, still, have shown much more than the Argentinians. Argentina has improved in the most recent match, but it still was against just decent Venezuela. With all at stake and in front of own fans, I believe Brazil will show close to their best which should be more than enough to overcome the Argentinians inside the ninety minutes. |
Mauritania vs Tunisia Match date: 2 Jul 2019 | Football - Africa Cup of Nations After falling apart at moments against Mali, players from Mauritania looked better (but also against a weaker opponent too) in their match agaisnt Angola that ended as a goalless game. Needless to say, Angola was the one who had more of the ball possession but was nowhere creative as they should and had very little chances to score, if any for real. Tunisia comes from one of the more interesting matches at this African Cup of Nations, as the team took a point in a 1:1 game against Mali. Overall, they had more of the ball control but should be satisfied with a point also as they were trailing at some moment and looked vulnerable at times. Neither of the teams should change much. Mauritania has no better players and can't play except in a defensive way, while the Tunisians can't risk and need to seek a victory. Neither of the teams should change much. Mauritania has no better players and can't play except in a defensive way, while the Tunisians can't risk and need to seek a victory. No matter what, Tunisia will want a victory in this one. Since they play against less quality team, they will surely want to secure the knockout phase as soon as possible, but also to gain a good position as possible. The defensive approach of Mauritania and their tactical and technical knowledge isn't to be compared and might run into problems here. |
Namibia vs Ivory Coast Match date: 1 Jul 2019 | Football - Africa Cup of Nations Namibia actually looked slightly better against South Africa in the second round, but still suffered the same 1:0 loss. They once again created little and no doubt that the team will use this competition just to gain some experience, progressing further will be quite unlikely for them even with a victory here. In overall quite an even game, Ivory Coast suffered narrow 1:0 loss to Morocco last Friday evening. The match could have gone in any direction but was decided by a goal from En Nesyri in the 23rd minute, with the Ivorians struggling to reply back. The team should be aiming a victory here, although it's likely that they end up second in the group even with a point. Namibians should be fielding very similar lineup to what they did against South Africa. Ivorians will probably change something here, while their captain right back Aurier (56/1, Tottenham) missing this one due injury. You can't expect anything else from Namibia but to once again try to defend, even if losing. Ivory Coast didn't show much that would separate them in quality and in an offensive manner when compared to the previous two opponents of Namibians. Another match with ball control of the Ivory Coast and most likely little real chances created is very likely. |
Benin vs Guinea Bissau Match date: 29 Jun 2019 | Football - Africa Cup of Nations Benin had the luck to have played for almost 40 minutes with a man more against Ghana, taking a 2:2 draw. However, needs to be said that they anyway troubled Ghana a lot at the back and that their opponent looked nowhere as convincing as the favorite prior the game they were. The side looked tactically pretty decent, especially in the offense and it's something that can pay off to them even more against weaker sides. Now with Sessegnon back in the team, experienced Pote can only get even more quality assists. Benin will surely make some change for this one since the team now plays against far weaker side than Ghana and is a favorite here. Furthermore, influential Stephane Sessegnon is back in the team from suspension. Guinea Bissau held Cameroon up to some level in the first halftime, but couldn't cope with the pressure in the second suffering 2:0 defeat. They conceded two goals within three minutes, as the team looked quite defensive against the top favorite in the group and didn't have many real chances. They were quite poor against Cameroon and it could make their manager Cande to make some changes for this one since. Guinea Bissau didn't look well in the first round, but neither in their preparation game. Neither they impressed in the qualifiers at all. Benin isn't much above in the quality but should be able to get a victory, maybe even convincing one here. They move the ball far better in transition and have that extra individual quality that can make the difference in attack. |

Brazil vs Paraguay Match date: 28 Jun 2019 | Football - Copa America Brazil has an easy pass so far, but it was expected since they are the hosting nation plus surely one of the main contenders for the title. After a bit disappointing goalless draw against Venezuela, the side showed some of their power to win over Peru 5:0 and secure the first position. They had three goals lead already after 32 minutes and looked far more dominant and controlling than in the previous two matches. Midfielder Casemiro is suspended for this match, but Fernandinho should be able to replace him coming from an injury. Otherwise, Allan could be an option. Firmino could be leading the attack now, in a version of 4-2-3-1 formation. Paraguayans were extremely lucky to find themselves into the knockout stage. With just two points earned, draws against Qatar and Argentina, they needed something against Colombia in the third round but suffered narrow 1:0 defeat. It was surprising to see that since Colombians played without competitive motive but still outplayed the opponent. The only result that needed to happen in order for Paraguay to progress, happened in the game between Japan and Ecuador, so the Paraguayans continued the competition even though it was quite unlikely after their game has ended the previous day. They are expected to be in a 4-4-1-1 formation for this match as well, just like they did against Colombia and Argentina. That means Cardozo leads the attack and Almiron just behind him. I simply can't see Paraguayans who showed very little so far stopping Brazilians in any way. The hosts should be having an upper hand in the whole match, with a two goals difference victory being really the minimum they should be able to get. There's simply no real reason why the Paraguayans would stay with a competitive result for too long. |
Germany U21 vs Romania U21 Match date: 27 Jun 2019 | Football - Euro U21 Germany didn't have a very difficult job in the group, winning easily over Denmark 3:1 and destroying Serbia 6:1, but they still had to field up a very competitive team in the decisive game against Austria which ended as a 1:1 draw. They took the lead early, got leveled up via penalty shoot soon, and managed to get the 1:1 draw in quite an cautious performance later on. The Germans won't be able to count at left back Henrichs who picked up a red card in the third round's game. They should be lined up in something similar to 4-3-3 with Richter, Waldschmidt, and Oztunali in the attack. Romanians had a very similar path into the semifinals. They won over Croatia 4:1 and England 4:2, ending the group phase with a goalless draw against French. That's pretty much all they needed as such an outcome brought both nations into the semifinals and could be said, it was a somewhat expected result. They didn't lose much energy in such a boring and uncreative clash, being surely pretty fit and ready for this one. The Romanians have no reason to change much, continuing with Puscas as alone striker and Man, Hagi and Coman just behind him. Germany should be having superiority in this clash, however, the Romanians have already shown their explosivity via counters during this tournament. With the way Romania plays, I just can't see the Germans having a clean sheet here. Both teams scoring, even surely in more than a 1:1 draw game is my first call here. |
One of the most popular bets in football is to back the draw. After all, about a quarter of all matches finish in a draw. But how should you approach backing the draw? Are there any angles you can use to give yourself an advantage? We will take a look at these questions – and more – below. Backing the Draw in Football Most of the time when we are betting on football, we like to back one team or the other. We think one team has a better chance of winning due to form, their players, tactical advantages or for any number of other reasons. Some of the time though, there is an appeal in backing the draw. It might be that you are anticipating a tight match, or the teams are particularly adept in getting draws or there is a scenario when the draw does both teams a favour. In some leagues, nearly a third of games finish in a draw so there can be ample opportunities to find a winning angle. Best Bookies for Backing the Draw With pretty much all bookies these days offering competitive odds on the draw, you are spoiled for choice in terms of which one to go for |
