Depends on the program and the requirements. Usually foreign programmes assess candidates based on how promising they are and not just by qualifications...

If the applicant can justify why he/she wants to participate in the program and the selection committee finds it convincing, it's done.

There's no harm in trying. If you get denied, you'd understand why you were denied, if you get selected, you'd be victorious. It's a win-win.

OK thanks for this

How will she secure a "professional" job + accomodation for him - an SSCE holder without any skill - with 800k? Doesn't sound legit to me.

My advice is that you halt paying her any money for now and if possible, try to recover the one you have paid already. After that, you can save up more money and apply for study visa in tution-free countries.

Please can someone do a Master's program in a tuition free country?
And please which of the tuition free countries can you recommend?

Education / Update On ASUU V. FG Scheduled Meeting For 14th Dec by xcelpro: 10:15am On Dec 14, 2020
This thread is created for today's ASUU scheduled meeting with FG. Please if you have any update concerning the meeting do drop it here.

Now looking at the state of things if ASUU fails to call off or suspend the strike this December that means all students affected will continue in the waiting game till further notice.

What a system!

The price you mentioned is definitely much and private school is out of option for her. As for the A-levels, she will use it to gain admission straight right or what?

Thank you for the information so far.

Then she should try unical the fees are a bit moderate and it's one of the best federal school for nursing in south-south

Thank you for your detailed reply. My younger sister is an aspirant and she made similar remark on not being interested in pursuing her program in nursing school. That she would prefer the university route though she didn't have an cogent reason for such.

If you don't mind, do you have idea of good federal universities with great admission rate, affordable fees and good pass rate/graduation rates? Also, which university are you attending if it is not much asking?

She is making plans for it and I want to gather as much information I can get as possible for her in order to direct her appropriately.

I think Unical matches your above preference

I was expecting ASUU to deny that FG didn't pay their salary up to June 2020 but nothing of such was said. it's becoming clearer who the perpetrators are.

How do we know the truth here when there meetings are always held in closed doors

My question is this, why do people still have to go to back university after attending school of nursing?

Is it that, the education and skill acquired in nursing school is not adequate or could it be due to salary structure between them and nurses that graduated from universities being different ( Like it was obtainable between HND and university graduates)?
Let me not say much here, the simple truth is that the Nigeria system does not favour school of nursing graduates, it's bad but that's the system we found ourselves and worst of it all is that the govt don't care as far as it does not concern them

Dear nairalander, I have a sister who's in confusion about going to Nursing school or University for her Nurse carrier. Anyone with better suggestion should please advice thanks

School of nursing is good but I will suggest she go through a university. I have a friend who finished from school of nursing and was certified after 3yrs but he still picked jamb form only to be admitted for anatomy.

So I will conclude that if your sister have the means to travel abroad after her school of nursing she can pick school of nursing but if no means she should better go through university
