Hello
anyone going to UND here? Instead of sending me the hard copy of my I-20 through DHL or FedEx, The school has decided to sent the soft copy of it through an email stating that now most of the embassies around the world are currently accepting digital I-20s. so my question is does embassies here also accept digital one?

Hi guys, good day.

Please I've gotten MBA admission in USA and got some fellowship from the school. Because the money wasn't enough, I applied to Mpower finance and they approved some amount for me.

I'm still looking for about $40,000 and don't know what to do. Prodigy has stopped giving loans to African students.

I'll appreciate any help/advise I can get on what to do. Thank you

you people are what have they achieved in two years, SMH, majority of them would be doing something already, even have skills to work with. but nowadays in most firms and companies even some retail stores, you need an NYSC discharge certificate to be employed, so I can understand what they are going... I'm staying at home currently, meant to have gone for service since last year, but due to some officials in my school having beef with other officials in other departments we have been delayed, due to laziness to complete a work you are being paid to do, we have been delayed, we are just praying to God while we are carrying on with our side jobs... it's just very frustrating.

You are wrong. Chemical Engineering department in that school has full 5 years accreditation. You can confirm with NUC.

The new leadership of the university has a lot of issues surrounding it especially the VC,I don't want to confirm or deny but if I follow the news down there,it's not palatable...

Moreover, these departments are not fully registered and accredited.....I am aware of Chemical Engineering.....so it is important when you want to fill your UTME form that thorough questions be asked about the school....

Literature / We Watched Her Killed by xploiter(m): 10:17pm On Aug 02, 2018
WE WATCHED HER KILLED”

“Help! Help! Help!", the voice screamed from the neighbouring apartment.

The time is 5:15pm Saturday evening and most families are at home.

From my guess, the screams must be from flat 4 where Chomy lives.

Chomy is a 29 year old single lady who works with the state ministry of commerce at Aggrey road, Port Harcourt.

She is a typical description of beauty. 175cm tall. Oval shaped face with two medium sized eyes to match. A well pointed nose and a mouth decorated with naturally full red lips.

Born Igbo and raised n the eastern part of Nigeria, Chomy speaks Igbo and English language fluently. Her well toned accents also do betray her as having been raised in the United Kingdom.

Due to her brilliance, Chomy had grown to be an assistant to the permanent secretary of the ministry. As such, she has to personally draft some aspects of the ministry’s budget which the permanent secretary will skim through, append his signature and forward to the honourable commissioner.

Just last Monday, she had encountered an incident which she had simply shrugged off.

While trekking the 5 minutes distance from the bus stop to her house, a lanky figure had walked into her path stopping Chomy in her tracks. As he smiled at her, she could observe that two of his front teeth were missing.

“Hey baby how far?” He asked as both peered into each other.

“I am fine thank you!” Chomy replied as she made to step away.

“Ah! Ah! Fine geh chill na” the man said as he blocked her once again.

“Please excuse me I need to go now. It’s been a hectic day already” said Chomy as she stepped away this time without being blocked.

The incident had occurred several days ago (5 days precisely) and dally had forgotten about it.

While in the kitchen preparing egusi soup which will last her about a week, Chomy's door bell rang at exactly 5:11pm.

Up, Chomy walked to the door.

“Who is there?”

“I’m here to deliver a package to you ma'am" a voice replied.

Looking through the pigeon hole she could see a man putting on a yellow face cap and a branded T-shirt which looked like that of a DHL dispatch rider. "Oh it must be the book I ordered from Amazon last week" Chomy thought.

As Chomy opened the door, she immediately recognised the face as that of the man who had stopped her on Monday.

“What do you want?” Chomy asked as he had no package in his hand.

“Baby I come see you. I don dey think about you since Monday after we see for road. Today I come say make I come house."

“Who showed you my house?” Chomy blurted out in defiance.

“Baby I love you well and I know say you love me too” said the intruder as he reached out to hug Chomy.

Chomy stepped back and made to run to the kitchen. But before she could run 3 steps her assailer reached her and pushed her against the nearby cushion.

“Help! Help! Help!” Chomy screamed as she pushed and kicked.

During the struggle, the man in an attempt to shut her up strangled her.

Even though more than 15 people in the neighbourhood heard Chomy’s screams, no one had made any move to help the lady. It was a mystery which no one could explain.

After about 8 days of investigation, Chomy’s killer was arrested by the police who described him as a wanted man who had raped and killed a middle-aged woman at Osogbo, Osun state two weeks earlier.

What surprised the police and the judiciary was that despite her screams, despite more than 15 people hearing Chomy's cry for help, no one picked up the phone to call the police.

"Well, the other neighbour is around and will check it out" everyone had thought.

Did you know that in a string of experiments conducted in the US, it was discovered that up-to 70% of the time, people rarely help other people in danger no matter how grievous the situation is if they discover that they're other people around.

Naturally, we feel less concerned if something wrong happens in public. We want to have our space and peace.

But should it always be so?

Let's think this through.

What if we are the ones in danger? What if it's our family and friends?

What if?

What if?

What if?

No matter how others around us react in negative situations, let us be the ones to lead the pack and show people the right way.

Let's be the catalyst the bring about positive change. If you don't take action, the other person wouldn't.

Are you living to leave a legacy or just tip-toeing to an early grave?

Stay blessed.

THE POWER OF BEING FIRST

By the time you finish reading this, you'll understand why your business is currently struggling and how you can save it before it gets worse.

===============================

Now let's go back to the origin.

I recall vividly how much I valued being first in my class in primary school. I was consistently among the top 3 pupils in class but that was nothing compared to being first.

Taking the first position in my class gave me a feeling of accomplishment and also exposed me to opportunities. Taking first is every little child's honour.

Others can take second but the person who takes first is much respected compared to the second and third runners-up.

I hope you understand that.

Now let's go on......

If you can take your mind a little back, you'll agree with me that it's difficult to remember the second and third position takers in your class except they were your friends. But the first in the class, you'll never forget.

So if it's difficult to remember the second and third in the class, what about the person who took sixth in the class.

Can you recall the name?

Now you must have been told that no one has used up-to 20 percent of the brain yet. We learnt about how the brain can store any information. Now do you wonder why we find it difficult to remember people who are not first in something?

Let's consider our country.......

Probably you know the first president of Nigeria. So who is the second president of the country? Who is the second woman to drive a car in Nigeria? Who is the second English man to navigate the Niger?

Did your brain recall that immediately?

Does that tell you something?

Our brain can store large information but it does this in categories. Once it picks and establishes the first, others follow.

So what happens after that?

The work is when we need to recall those information, the first in each category is what comes up first. This is not a weakness, it's only a peculiarity.

The power of being first is displayed by Coca Cola. No matter what any soft drink company may do or produce, coke will always have the largest share of the soft drinks market.

That's still the reason why Jumia is stronger than Konga/Yulanda. That's why try as it may, Glo is still second to Mtn.

Who gets most of the contracts in road construction in Nigeria? Julius Berger of course.

They've established that position that people trust them and care less to check the quality of their work compared to other new comers in the construction field.

Now let's consider this information in another direction.

If you are not a lover of tennis, you may only know the best tennis player in the world (Roger Federer) but not the second. There are many people answering John Kennedy, but there's only one John Kennedy known all over the globe.

There's a great power behind being first in anything. Breakthroughs always come when you are the first in people's mind in what you do. A great pity that many people want to copy someone and be that person.

========================
No copier becomes better than the copied.
========================

Now you can think that through.

Do you remember Steve Harris?

I listened to his podcast and he said something that struck me. He said that when he went into public speaking, he discovered that he was always going to be hidden behind Fela Durutoye.

He recognized that Fela was the king in motivational speaker and the best he could ever be was the crown prince. And as long as the King is there, it will be foolish trying to overtake him. With this realization, he had to look for another niche where he could be first.

It is a foolish decision to try to overtake someone who is better known than you in something. It is not bad to be second though, but it is worst being third.

In business, the first performs far better compared to the rest combined. Instead of being second or lost in a niche, look for a smaller niche within the bigger niche and establish yourself as the first.

There's no need trying to topple the king unless you have enough money to throw around. Create another kingdom where you can rule.

But please note that being the first does not necessarily mean the first to start something. It means the one who was the first to be known and recognized by all.

Can you read the last paragraph again please?

If you are in a niche that's not yet well known, capitalize on that and stamp your authority. This you can do by promoting that niche with your name/brand attached to it.

Being first can be compared to your name or business coming up first when your category is searched on Google. Am I the first to answer Samuel Ukah? No but if that name is searched, whose picture and profile comes up first?

Can the second become the first?

Yes but not in all situations.

If you are interested in this topic, please signify. I may go further to explain how you can position your business and yourself in a noisy market.

Be intentional in building your brand. Establish your name to be first and let the rest work to catch up with you.

If people think about your niche, will they recall you first?

Good news is that it's not too late to be first. It needs much smart effort from you.
