I'm alarmed to learn that majority of our micro-finance firms still request for collateral before granting loans. To do serious business and and make meaningful investment with significant attractive margins in non-unique business ventures (the category many businesses fall), a good capital base (both start-up and working capital) is of utmost importance. I learnt the hard way since I became an entrepreneur several years back. However, my concern is that every time I tried to break from this struggling phase like many other colleagues, capital inadequacy stares at you irrespective of your fantastic ideas and projections. I resorted to organic growth model and often wished for that day when fortune would smile, and the sort of galloping leap you hear and read about in developed countries transform great ideas into real world wonders. I tell you, I'm always awed by Seun's resilience and he is a true, dogged minded entrepreneur Nigeria needs around (although I may disagree with him on several value systems which are personal to all). There are a few others around as well but don't get bored by my write-up. Any help in the house on fantastic financing options for existing SMEs (at least for a business that has survived the crucial 5 years cycle with consistent revenue growth averaging 100% +/- 20)  Thank you. exploits777@yahoo.co.uk 08074747459 |

You are right on track getting any of those, I f you seek my opinion as a Project management and Quality management consultant I'll advice you get all three in this progression: 1.PMP 2. Prince2 P, 3. ISO 9001:2008 QMS Lead Auditor: Why am I telling you to do all three? The Nigerian market is very vast, dynamic and above all still evolving and adapting to global best practices. Having 1&3 or 3 alone might be the cheapest path to take cos Earning PMP in Nigeria will be much cheaper for you than doing it in the UK. Same goes for ISO9001:2008. BIS fees are incredibly high for training and certification. I don't know your budget but that will play a major role in your decision process. Also in quality management a Lean Six Sigma qualification might well do for you too from the UK. Run an online course I can refer some to you if you choose to consider it. Multinational firms will scramble for you when you have such diverse skills set in related world class systems. @ ucdon-BC this is such a very important question especially in a country like ours. I gave a short talk on this topic yesterday to some undergraudates. Starting without capital is very possible but you'll need alot patience and perseverance to grow organically once you strike gold. The best sector for such business kind is in the SERVICE SECTOR You need to develop your idea and align it with available opportunities around you temporarily. Besides you'll need to be creative and proactive when it comes to sustaining such a venture even after kickstarting your identified business service. Also draw out a business plan, a realisitic one projecting your income from day1. The plan is not a permanent one so prepare to review it occasionally as the business grows while remaining focused on your business goal. After a year of rendering such service and accumulating some income. You might need to reinvest the capital to strengthen your sales and revenue. Remember these key skills you can't ignore: Creativity, Discipline (modest spending), Perseverance, Patience, etc I started out like this 5 yrs ago, I thought it was simply impossible but I was wrong. I kept pushing and running because of what was pursuing me (Poverty & Lack) not necessarily because of the great future I hope for. However the GOD factor is inevitable cos I failed many times before I got it right. the learning curve is very steepy when you start without capital, it would be worse of if you lack good and conservative money management skills too. $$$$$ is the critical factor in business survival coupled with YOU!!! so many things to talk about, but you see we are all still learning. |

HMMMMMM what a great deed it was before this wonderful post got turned into battle ground of words turning Paul against Christ. One thing is certain : ANYONE that claims Paul opposes Christ's teachings is self-deluded and has not read the Bible at all. I will even be right to doubt such a person's salvation from SIN. Paul was the apostle that Christ used to expound the Mysteries surrounding our victory from sin (Romans 5,6,7,8 Colosians 3, Ephesians 1). It is sad that People who have no interest of CHRIST in heart even try to reason out HIS WORD; (impossible) the word of God is veiled to you even as it happened to the Israelites in the wilderness when Moses covered his face. You just cannot understand the mysteries and deep truths, they are not ordinary words. Even the Jews(his disciples too) didn't understand His Parables unless he explained them. Just tell me why you will understand THESE WORDS!!!! I'll advice you to look at your lives critically and see if you align with HIM or not. Tithe giving is an elective course that does not vilify you in the new testament, however the way to give in the New covenant is beyond 10%, God requires all, evident in the test Jesus gave the rich young ruler and so many instances to raise here. But know this ANYONE THAT FAILS THE CORE COURSES WILL NOT ESCAPE IT EVERY INSTRUCTION THAT CARRIES VERILY, TRULLY, MOST ASSUREDLY ARE KEY WORDS THAT HINGE ON WHAT MATTERS MOST EVEN IN THE HEART OF GOD. I'm using this medium to plead with everyone to stop arguing on the Word of God but rather Live to Obey what It says. Once again, giving is biblical but tithing is the lowest level of sacrificial giving, Tithing was not preached in the New Covenant but generous giving was preached well which far outways 10%. How do we then go about it, seek God's direction before dispensing or even spending whatever resources He brings our way. But as for me I tithe because it doesn't cost me to do so and I attend a church that instructs me to do so. Remember I said Tithing is an elective course that can't stop anyone from making it to heaven if you obey or not but been greedy and stingy with your Resources shows Mammon has a strong grip on you and God must help you urgently!!!! |

Anyone with Project Management Career focus or Experience needs it. Besides anyone can learn project management, however stringent requirements apply when it comes to taking the PMI-PMP exams. You'll need a BSc + 3 yrs experience or SSCE +5yrs experience. Without any of the two you can still sit for the CAPM exams which is a sequel to the pmp certification for those without needed work experience. All these info is available also on pmi website and apm site too. We basically train and assist with registration for the exams too. Hope I did some justice to ur questions.
