A building which collapsed yesterday morning at Oke-Ijeun area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, caused the death of child and a pregnant woman as seen in the pictures....According to reports, the wall, which was weakened by a downpour on Wednesday, collapsed on Thursday -trapping the mother and five-year-old child under the rubble. May their souls rest in peace...

In furtherance of efforts to make the North East safe and secure from the nefarious and criminal activities of the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists, troops of newly inducted 3 Battalion, 22 Brigade, in conjunction with Army Headquarters Strike Group (AHQ SG) and the Armed Forces Special Forces (AFSF), carried out a spectacular clearance operation on Tuesday, 22nd March 2016.

The gallant troops cleared the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists hibernating in Kala Balge general area.

The triumphant troops apart from killing 22 terrorists cleared pockets of the terrorists in Wumbi, Tunish, Tilem and Malawaji. Others are Makaudari, Daima, Buduli, Sadigumo, Jiwe, Sidigeri and Kala villages. The troops also rescued 309 persons held captives by the terrorists.

They also discovered and destroyed the terrorists training camp, factory, locally made weapons and warehouse at Tilem and then secured Rann, the headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area.

In a related development, troops of 3 Battalion with the support of Civilian JTF also conducted a fighting patrol at Kusumma village in which they killed 3 Boko Haram terrorists and captured one alive.

They also rescued 520 persons held hostage by the terrorists and recovered 1 motorcycle, weapons and axes.

The troops, basking in the unprecedented achievement, are also making efforts to clear remnants of the terrorists in the surrounding areas.

There was a heavy traffic gridlock along Ikorodu road in Lagos this morning due to the presence of a fallen tanker which covered an entire motor lane....The incident left motorists and road users who were on their way to work stranded. Pictured are emergency officials who arrived the scene few hours ago to clear the tanker off the highway.

Some cult members were arrested by security operatives for snatching a car in Enugu State today. The hoodlums are believed to be members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity a.k.a known as "Aroo Baga" judging from the inscription on the arm of one of them. They were apprehended with a locally made pistol and other stolen items.

Kudos to Nigerian Army, RIP to the dead soldier

In continuation with the clearance of the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 153 Task Force Brigade, 5 Brigade on Monday had an encounter with terrorists at Musari village on Monday.

During the clearance operations, a soldier paid the supreme price, while the troops killed 58 terrorist and recovered 2 hand grenades, 52 motorcycles, several bags of foodstuffs such as beans, onions, sweet potatoes and guinea corn, as well as cartons of fish.
