After weeks of being attacked by Fulani Herdsmen, the people of Agatu community in Benue State were visited by governor Samuel Ortom, who has solicited assistance from the Federal Government, global agencies, organizations, and individuals to rehabilitate destroyed areas in Agatu and other parts of the state.

He also requested federal government's support to institute a commission of inquiry to examine the causes of the attacks, document the losses and recommend solutions.

Governor Ortom made the requests while speaking with journalists in Okoklo, Agatu local government area after the state executive and security councils inspected some communities destroyed by herdsmen during the recent attacks.

He described the magnitude of destruction as monumental and far beyond the financial capacity of the state to rehabilitate the affected communities. The Governor said he had visited some of the places attacked by insurgents in the North East but the magnitude of devastation in Agatu far exceeded those places.

Governor Ortom requested the Federal government and people of goodwill across the world to assist the Benue State government to enable ravaged communities to recover and get their lives together again.

According to him, farming and grazing were incompatible hence the imperative to establish ranches as a permanent solution to the incessant clashes between farmers and herders.

He announced that the state government would construct the road from Obagaji to Agagbe in Gwer West local government area while the road from Oshigbudu to Obagaji would be completed in order to enhance accessibility to the area.

It was a moment of joy on Tuesday (yesterday) as the National Emergency Management Agency (‪NEMA‬) and Fufore ‪‎IDP‬ camp celebrated the safe delivery of twins at Federal Medical Centre, Yola, Adamawa State. According to reports, both the mother and babies are in good health.

This young girl was reportedly raped and murdered by hoodlums in Sangmelima, a town in Cameroon. Her unclad body was discovered today in a bush within the area as the residents have been thrown into panic and fear over the shocking incident. Her body has been deposited in a morgue in Sangmelima...May her soul rest in peace.

These three kidnap suspects were apprehended by the Imo State Police Command on Sunday, April 3, along Nwaorieubi in Mbaitoli LGA of the state. The suspects who were arrested in military uniforms were nabbed following a tip-off by good spirited individuals who quickly alerted the police.

The suspects are as follows:
1.) Moses Ezekiel 27yrs male of Aro Ndizuogu Ideato North LGA, Imo State.
2.) Odinakachi Uzowuru 23yrs male of Isiala Mbano LGA; and
3.) Uchenna Joseph 27yrs male of Ikwo, Ebonyi State.

Exhibits recovered from suspects include: -
1. Two Jack knives
2. One Walkie-Talkie
3. Three rings which suspects claimed to be charms.

Despite interviewing lots of presidents and meeting lots of prime ministers and dignitaries in life, the Nigerian girl, Zuriel Oduwole has kept her cool and seems to remain focused as ever... Pictured is the teenage girl in a meeting with top company executives in the US... The most interesting part of this is how the top-shots listened to her with both their "ears and eyes" wide open as if it was president Obama talking....

Meanwhile, talking about US presidency -Zuriel also has big dreams of becoming the president of United States in the future (see pictures below)....an American president with Nigerian roots. Wish her the very best in her endeavors.
