As a result of tight fiscal policy anchored on blocking of leakages, Nigeria’s foreign reserves has risen from $29.1 billion left by the immediate past government to $31.89 billion presently.


Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele made this disclosure yesterday while briefing the Senate leadership on the state of the nation’s economy and actions being taken by CBN to boost it.



Emefiele, at the briefing explained that though the crash in the price of crude oil in the international market since last year still has serious rippling effect on Nigeria’s economy, being a mono-product one over the years, signs of recovery are already emerging, one of which is the rise in the nation’s foreign reserves from $29.1billion to $31.89billion within a space of five weeks.


He said: “Reflecting the sharp fall in oil prices and speculative foreign exchange activities, the external reserve declined from $37.3 billion in June 2014 to $29.1 billion at the end of June of 2015.


“But today, I am delighted to note that with the strong efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari, to block all leakages as well as the vigilant demand management strategy of the CBN, we have seen our foreign exchange reserve begin a gradual recovery.


“As at the 7th of July, 2015, the reserve stood at $31.89 billion, a trend we find extremely gratifying”.


He explained further that the CBN took a number of proactive actions to stem the tide of downward trend of the economy in the heat of the crash of oil price, which according to him, have helped a lot in stabilising the economy now.


But the senate leadership at closed door session with the CBN governor and other management staff, directed them to liaise with the Customs towards recovery of the N30billion waiver granted importers of rice, chicken and palm oil by the Jonathan administration.


Senate President, Bukola Saraki who stated this, said the money must be recovered from those who wrongly benefited from a waiver that was in the first place, not needed , by glaringly contradicting government policy of import substitution.

A fake doctor has been nabbed after practising for 10 years.Martins Ugwu,a senior official of the Federal Ministry of Health, who has been practising as a medical doctor for close to 10 years, was arrested by the police upon discovery that he stole the medical license from his friend.


Ugwu, who is a Senior Medical Officer II on Grade Level 13, was found to have impersonated his friend, Dr. George Davidson Daniel, who is undergoing a residency training programme in Jos, Plateau State.

He allegedly stole the license from his friend for whom he was best man during his wedding in 2006. They both hailed from Orukpa in Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State.


PUNCH learnt that Ugwu, who was due to be promoted as Assistant Director in Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, has been working in the civil service since 2006 under the name of Dr. George Davidson Daniel until he was indicted by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria as an impostor.


Ugwu, who was arrested by the police last Thursday, was however released a few hours later, fueling speculations that the policemen might have been compromised.


Ugwu’s arrest was sequel to an investigation by the MDCN, which registers all Nigerian doctors and regulates their practice, after investigations uncovered two Dr. Daniels—the same name on two separate identity photographs.


But the MDCN said it was dissatisfied with police handling of Ugwu’s case and promised to take up the matter with the Inspector-General of Police.

Also, apart from the size when getting a blazer pay attention to little details like if it has some nice pocket placements, gorgeous buttons, a different cut at the back, some details around the waist, a peplum cut blazer, a brooch or cute pins this little details could add a lot more style to a plain blazer.

Another hint for a skinny girl is to try funky colors, add patterns it could be paisley, flowery or even Ankara patterns in fact go rogue try damask and you can’t go wrong as long as you are wearing a coordinated outfit underneath. While some celebs went a ;little overboard,others was lost in the theme.Here are my personally views of some selected celebrities at the event.

Starting with my most favorite:

Who probably stole the event with the perfect hour glass,perfect material and perfect sazz

"Well when it comes to Queen Bey,we all know the stakes becomes high"

Beyonce who probably has been feeling left out on the social media scene recently (apparently because of her marital status)decided to to get the right attention when and where it mattered,firstly she came put on her best cleavage on bare at the may weather fight held on May 2 which categorically said "I still run the world bitches"

or a more subtle theme. #grins#,then she literally stole the red carpet at MET BALL,i could hardly notice anyone else aside her,from her fine physique to the custom made dress by Givenchy with the Brown Leather-ed 2015 Dolce and Gabbana exclusive shoe to go with it,you definitely know this queen didn't come here to play.

And for those having issues with her choice of outfit on the basis of her marital status really need an upgrade in their lives... She was just Fabulous.
