A 19-year-old man, Iredia Endurance has been arrested by the operatives of Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for alleged fraud.

A statement released by WIlson Uwujaren, spokesperson of the anti-graft agencym says Endurance was recently arrested by the Commission following a petition by one Chrstine Brown, a British citizen, alleging that the suspect defrauded her of £450,000.00.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) on Tuesday launched the Crowdfund App to mobilise funds for its Presidential Candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Sen, Kashim Shettima.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the app will afford Nigerians the opportunity to pull financial resources to support Tinubu and Shettima to prosecute campaign activities ahead of 2023 general elections.

Unveiling the app in Lagos, the APC Vice Presidential Candidate, Shettima, said that Tinubu/Shettima Crowdfunding Application was to enable supporters make donations towards the campaign as part of efforts to make people take ownership of the party.

Former Super Eagles captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has insisted that Portugal's first goal against Uruguay in Monday's World Cup tie was clearly midfielder Bruno Fernandes' goal.

Portugal defeated Uruguay 2-0 in their second World Cup tie, thanks to Fernandes' brace.

Fernandes' first goal was initially given to Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo, but it was later confirmed that the 37-year-old did not head in the cross from Fernandes before the ball ended up in the back of the net.

Ronaldo celebrated as he tried to claim the goal, but Okocha believes the former Manchester United forward was unfortunate because there are cameras everywhere.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, will still win the general elections in 2023 despite the turmoil currently engulfing the party. He also urged voters to support PDP candidates.

He urged the electorate to support PDP candidates at a consultative and town hall meeting yesterday with the party’s stakeholders in the Oyo Federal Constituency.

The governor said the PDP had become stronger in the Federal Constituency following the resolution of the internal wrangling among its members.

He expressed confidence that the PDP would win all elections in the zone, as according to him, he had fulfilled over 80 per cent of his campaign promises to the people.

The governor, who met with all critical stakeholders in Oyo said all the aggrieved members of the party in the constituency had been reconciled so that it could go into the general election as a united family.

Governor Makinde declared that if he was re-elected, there would be an upgrade of good governance, hence the campaign theme: “Omituntun 2.0”.

He charged all residents and indigenes of Oyo State to vote for all candidates of the PDP in the 2023 general election.

The governor also reeled out the achievements of his government in Oyo zone as including; the building of the ultramodern Akesan Market; construction of Gedu-Oroki-Sabo Road; the renovation and equipment of Primary Health Care Centres and the Light-up Oyo Project, among others.

The Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Abdullahi Abbas, has said that the party is poised to win next year’s gubernatorial election by hook or crook.
