Itai state initially made up of the Northern Akwa Ibom which is made up of mainly local governments in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district. But Atlantic state is a brain child of the southern Akwa Ibom who occupy the Atlantic fringes.

maybe i feel a little insulted by your suggestions. But i still give you a chance to learn manners.

The people of Akwa Ibom south senatorial district are agitating for the Creation of Atlantic State, the quest is born out of the fact that they feel cheated and marginalized as non of their sons or daughters has ever ascended to the political position of Governor in the state. EVEN as providence tries to favour them and the principle of equity, justice and fair play struggle to lend support, those in the majority seem to have sold out their heart and have their conscience smeared with hot iron.
Fellow Akwa Ibomites, i urge you to support any credible candidate of Akwa Ibom south senatorial district in the upcoming 2015 guber Race. Lets not forget that We(Akwa Ibom/south-south) are also minorities in Nigeria and providence won't forgive us, if we don't give this people their right.

Dudu_Negro: If you all recall back to the communique issued by Yoruba Assembly few weeks ago it clearly stated that the individual state assemblies from Kwara to Lagos should look into forming a cooperative vigilante group to secure the region. This response by the Ogun vigilante group is commendable.

Its high time we start STATE POLICING....vigilante with guns doesn't make sense. I aPpreciate their good work.

Akwa Ibom State was named after the Qua Iboe River and it is located in the coastal South-Southern part of the country, lying between latitudes 4°321 and 5°331 North, and longitudes 7°251 and 8°251 East. It is bordered on the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers and Abia states, and on the South by the Atlantic Ocean and the southern-most tip of Cross River State.

Akwa Ibom State was created in 1987 from the former Cross River State and its capital is Uyo. The state has an airport – Akwa Ibom International Airport – and two major sea ports on the Atlantic Ocean, with a proposed construction of a world class Ibaka Seaport at Oron.

As far as i'm concerned, this is another avenue to waste public fund on a stadium that will not be viable because the local league is not well packaged. I guess they'll make money by renting it to churches to use for their crusade.

Uyo has a stadium as a Local government, and that also what Akwa United uses. Its very small and there is No room for possible expansion cos of its location

Talking a critical look at the insecurity situation in Nigeria and the great strength which some terrorist hiding under the auspices of religion to rain terror on fellow citizens, everybody seems to be raining blames on GEJ as being a slow or calm commander in chief. If you were The president, what would you have done?
This reminds me of a similar situation in the Oil Rich southern state of Akwa Ibom, which was not assumed to be the most insecured state, not just by critics but even by the faithfuls of the Ruling Party in the state due to the magnitude of kidnappings, assasinations, robbery and even Rape. But after the 2011 Elections, all this vices died down..-from my own view, Gov Akpabio was performing excellently well in terms of infrastructural development and the only way to distract the masses was for the opposition to use insecurity as a major to earn money for their campaign and also use it to demoralise the Governor.
This is just what the Northern power gods are trying to use against GEJ, After losing the 2011 elections and still nursing fears that view may loose the upcoming 2015 elections, especially if GEJ Should contest as an incumbent. Have always been an Advocate of ONE NIGERIA but its high time nigeria is divided for Peace to reign. Am deeply engrossed with pity and shame; why should a brother slay a fellow brother just in an effort to get access to control of resources. Lets wake up Nigerians. The blame is not on the President but on those who claim to be Northern Elites.
