My brother, I have actually researched and thought about this problem for a very long time. As a STRONG Christian (apart from my security concerns) I believe that what we have now makes too much room for ADULTERY and FORNICATION both of which are expressly stated in the Bible and in the 10 commandments that God hates, and both of which are pervading Biafraland as we speak.

The only narrow room Jesus allowed was if a woman committed adultery. People divorce for all kinds of things in such societies. What we have now is a very SELFISH and SELF CENTERED marriage system which breeds ADULTERY, GREED and WICKEDNESS. If we don't control greed and wickedness Biafra will not be different from Nigeria.

The problem is that somehow we have been made to believe that polygyny (marrying more than one wife) is wrong and a sin. Since we are Christians, I have gone through the Bible and actually studied the origins of "monogamy" and it has no biblical basis except where Paul was talking about leaders in the church marrying one wife only.
But back to our ancestors...
They had FREEDOM of marriage, by that I mean that they could choose to be monogamic, or polygynic. There was no law against marrying more than one wife, though I must say that Nigerian law does not outlaw it either except in cases of statutory marriage (court marriage) to more than one woman which constitutes bigamy. But Nigerian law cedes some power to traditional marriages by "customary courts". Under that law you can marry more than one wife. But like you said, the men are the problem (IMHO) because many of them think it is a sin to be polygynic.

One of the things Africans do that baffle me is that our people tend not to question things logically and practically once it has been handed down by the colonialists. A simple thought process applied against such inherited problems usually produce profound results.
All we have to do is THINK.

The economic value is predicated on the human and natural resources of Biafra. Our human resources are the best in Africa; we have produced world beaters in many fields of knowledge. Our current population/market size is at least 50 million.

There will be a government offered health insurance for everybody, but the vast majority of people are expected to carry private insurances offered by their jobs. On the details of party politics, I'm thinking that the Japanese or Israeli model should be studied closely, modified to suit Biafra and adopted. Why I like those is because of the ease with which governments can be changed. The Japanese change governments like mad until they get what they want. Fixed tenure system is not good for us because our people relax once they get what they want. Termlessness will keep them on their feet.
As for tax system, I think we should adopt a business friendly tax system, but the business will in return be expected to show clear jobs they created. In fact jobs should be tied to tax -the more employees a company has the less tax rates it would pay. I make no claims whatsoever to being a tax expert, but taxation MUST fit into the overall national development strategy of JOBS FOR ALL.
