SportsBREAKING: UEFA Will Investigate Ronaldo For His 'improper' Gesture Vs Atletico by Yabageek(op): 12:24pm On Mar 18, 2019
www.yabageek.com
UEFA has opened an investigation into Cristiano Ronaldo’s explicit gesture during Juventus’ Champions League comeback against Atletico Madrid last week. Decision will be made on March 21.

UEFA announced on Monday that Ronaldo was facing charges of ‘improper conduct’ after he mimicked Diego Simeone’s gesticulation at the end of Juve’s 3-0 victory over Atleti.

The governing body’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will rule on the case at its next meeting on Thursday.

Simeone was fined €20,000 for the gesture but was not given a touchline ban for the match in Turin, so the No 7 could not be suspended for the Bianconeri’s quarter-final against Ajax.

After completing his hat-trick and overturning the deficit in the round-of-16 tie, Ronaldo imitated Diego Simeone who had celebrated in the same way in the first match between Atletico and Juve at the Wanda Metropolitano.

SportsMarouane Fellaini Shares Snap At Airport En Route To China by Yabageek(op): 11:36am On Jan 31, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Marouane Fellaini shared a picture on his Instagram story at Brussels Airport as he prepared to jet off to China and seal his move to Shandong Luneng Taishan.

The Manchester United midfielder has already passed a medical and will join the club for a transfer fee of £10.4million and wage of £235,000.

He wrote: 'Let's go', on a picture alongside his brother Hamza, agent Karim Mejjati and another member of his entourage.

Fellaini flew from Belgium as he has been receiving treatment for a calf muscle injury in Antwerp this week.

He appeared to be excited about the move and will no doubt be looking forward to a starring role after being left out in the cold by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The interim Manchester United boss has not shared the same affection for Fellaini that Jose Mourinho had and the Belgian has only played 31 minutes under the new manager.

And the 31-year-old will also have a hefty pay bump as he begins a new chapter in the far east.

Forbes magazine list Shandong as the fifth most valuable football team in the country.

Based in Jinan, eastern China, their home stadium is the Jinan Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and has a capacity of 56,808.

SportsNeymar Sends Message To Man Utd Fans Ahead Of PSG Champions League Clash by Yabageek(op): 2:33pm On Jan 22, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Neymar has claimed Paris Saint-Germain's upcoming Champions League clash with Manchester United will be a "match for football lovers".

PSG travel to Old Tafford to face United in the first leg of the round of 16 encounter on February 12th, with the return match in Paris on March 6th.

The French champions are 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with two games in hand and have set their sights on Champions League glory this season.

They were installed as heavy favourites for the tie as soon as the draw was made last month, but United's form has picked up under interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who has overseen seven successive victories in all competitions.

And Neymar is expecting an epic encounter.

"We are winning everything," he told Canal+. "The Champions League is every footballer's dream.

"We realise it is difficult, but our team can do it. We have high-quality players, we can aim high. We are on the right path.

"We have a great match coming up [against Manchester United]. It will be a great match for football lovers, and we are happy to face great teams."

Neymar was also asked about reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid but insisted there was nothing "concrete" to discuss.

He said: "There is always speculation about my name. Since I became a professional footballer they have always said that I was going to leave other clubs.

“But there is nothing concrete. As soon as there is something definitive, be reassured, I will tell everyone.”

SportsCardiff City's Record Signing Sala Feared To Be On Board A Missing Plane by Yabageek(op): 2:12pm On Jan 22, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Cardiff record signing Emiliano Sala is feared to have been on a plane missing last night.

There is "genuine concern" Premier League footballer Emiliano Sala was on a flight missing off Alderney.

It is feared the Argentine striker was one of two people on board the Piper Malibu, which disappeared near the Casquets lighthouse on Monday night.

Cardiff City, which signed the 28-year-old from French club Nantes on Saturday, said it was "seeking clarification" as to what happened.

A helicopter and lifeboat crews joined a search for the missing plane.

HM Coastguard said the disappearance was not in the UK search and rescue area, but it had sent two helicopters to help.

A spokeswoman said they were assisting Guernsey Coastguard with a search for a light aircraft off Alderney: "HM Coastguard helicopters from Solent and Newquay have been helping to search overnight with nothing found."

The search and rescue operation had to deal with worsening conditions as they scoured the area on Monday night.

The Met Office said at the time the aircraft went missing "there were some showers around, but nothing too intense".

"Wind speeds were not too bad - average speeds were around 15 to 20mph," it added.

As the search continued into the evening though, it became wetter and windier.

A lighthouse was first built on the Casquets rocks, infamous among mariners as the site of many shipwrecks, 13km north-west of Alderney in 1724.

HM Coastguard said the helicopter from Newquay has now returned to base to refuel and rest the crew.

SportsAnthony Martial Close To Agreeing A New 5-year Contract With Man Utd (sky) by Yabageek(op): 8:09pm On Jan 18, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Anthony Martial is close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United over a new five-year contract, according to Sky Sports.

It marks a breakthrough in discussions after he rejected an offer in October.

United recently activated a year-long extension clause in the striker's current contract to keep him tied to the club until 2020.

The 23-year-old has been in good form this season and is United's joint-top scorer with nine goals in all competitions.

Former United boss Jose Mourinho was reportedly willing to part with Martial last summer - but later said he wanted the forward to stay after an impressive run of form.

And the United hierarchy have always been determined to reach agreement on a long-term deal with a player who they made the world's most expensive teenager when he was signed from Monaco in 2015.

Martial has continued to thrive under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, scoring in the new manager's first game in charge at Cardiff - and also starting in subsequent victories over Bournemouth, Newcastle and Tottenham.

SportsSelling Ronaldo Was One Of The Worst Decisions In Football History by Yabageek(op): 6:44am On Jan 11, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Juventus are reaping the benefits of having a five-time Ballon d'Or winner in his prime while the club he left behind struggle for goals and points.

Whether it was arrogance, misplaced faith or just outright stupidity, Real Madrid’s decision to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave for Juventus last summer must surely rank as one of football’s worst decisions in history.

It is clear now, more than halfway through the season, that Madrid have nothing like the firepower required to carry them through this, a season of transition, while Ronaldo continues to rack up the goals in Italy.

Madrid might well have banked €100m for Ronaldo, no small fee for a 33-year-old, but no money could possibly replace what has been taken away. Last season they finished 17 points adrift of Barcelona, by the end of this one they will be begging to be that close.

Had they got an adequate replacement then this debate might well be moot. But the fact is that there isn’t a football player alive capable of delivering what Ronaldo delivered for Real. And in a year when they also lost their talismanic coach Zinedine Zidane, the sanctioning of his sale is proving to be catastrophic.

Without a Galactico arrival like Neymar or Kylian Mbappe, they got Mariano Diaz from Olympique Lyon instead. He chose the No. 7 shirt to demonstrate that he would be leading a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu. He will do well to score that number of league goals this season.

But all looked rosy in the garden at the start of the season when a more democratic-looking Madrid attack was scoring from all angles and giving Julen Lopetegui the positive start he needed as Madrid coach.

His methods were working well; Karim Benzema’s goal scoring pace picked up. Gareth Bale, finally liberated from the shadow of Ronaldo, became a key component in the line-up and thrived as the main man.

But Madrid’s downturn in form eventually accounted for Lopetegui. Without Ronaldo’s goals they had nowhere to turn once Benzema’s form evaporated and Bale again became injured.

SportsMata: Nothing Has Changed In The Dressing Room With Solskjaer by Yabageek(op): 7:01pm On Jan 10, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Manchester United have been on a winning run since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as coach, but Juan Mata doesn't believe that much has changed in terms of the situation in the dressing room.

He highlighted that the difference is in the end product, with United having won all five of their matches under the Norwegian.

"Nothing has changed in the dressing room," he said as he collected the Reina Sofia prize at the palace in Madrid for his fair play and work with Common Goal.

"What makes things seem different are the results, which have a miraculous effect.

"Our true objective is to get back into the Champions League."

Mata, who hasn't played with the national team since 2016, also spoke of how he'd still love to return and represent La Roja once again.

SportsRonaldo Reveals He Could Return To Former Club After Juventus by Yabageek(op): 10:26pm On Jan 08, 2019
www.yabageek.com

The Portuguese started his professional career with the Lisbon-based outfit before leaving his home nation for Manchester United back in 2003.

Six years later the forward was on the move again, this time signing for Real Madrid, where he won the Ballon d'Or and Champions League four times each.

Ronaldo decided he needed a new challenge this summer and after being courted by a number of top teams in Europe signed for Max Allegri's Juventus.

Things are going well for Juventus this season, with the Italian giants topping Serie A and in the knock-out stages of the Champions League.

Ronaldo is very content in Turin, but has not ruled out a move back to where it all began once he has achieved all he can in Italy.

As reported by Fox Sports, Ronaldo said: "Will I go back to Sporting like Nani?

"In football you never know. It was the right decision to leave the national [team] momentarily, but I’ll be back in 2019.

"Everyone in Turin welcomed me in a fantastic way. We're all feeling very good.

"I don't know when my career will end, but I’m fine and I want to keep going for many more years."

SportsMourinho Was The Problem At Manchester United - Pogba by Yabageek(op): 6:39am On Jan 08, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Mathias Pogba
pointed the finger at the former Red Devils boss amid his brother's run of four goals and three assists since the Portuguese's sacking.

Jose Mourinho was the problem at Manchester United as he wanted to be the centre of attention, according to Paul Pogba's brother Mathias.

Mourinho was sacked by United last month, amid reports of dressing-room unrest having fallen out with star midfielder Paul Pogba in Manchester.

The World Cup winner – who was stripped of the vice-captaincy earlier in the season and dropped to the bench during Mourinho's final few weeks in charge – has flourished since the Portuguese's departure, scoring four goals and tallying three assists under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Premier League.

And Mathias Pogba pointed the finger at Mourinho when explaining his brother's revival at Old Trafford.

"The problem was Mourinho, right down the line," Mathias Pogba, 28, told RMC Sport. "In the locker room, outside the locker room...everything.

"I know my brother, and you tell him, go, play, the rest, he will do it."

Mathias Pogba added: "From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro – the centre of attention

"Paul, he does not even calculate that aspect, you respect him, he will respect you, you trust him, he will perform for you in big matches."

World Cup winner Paul Pogba has scored seven Premier League goals and nine in all competitions for United, who are fifth ahead of their blockbuster trip to Tottenham on Sunday.

Paul Pogba has started his journey to Dubai where he will join up with his Manchester United team-mates.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side travelled out to the Middle East on Sunday but the in-form midfielder has set off a day later after staying behind to treatment on an injury.
The Frenchman suffered a nasty challenge from Jonjo Shelvey in United's 2-0 win over Newcastle.
He received treatment on the knock to his leg, delaying his arrival in Dubai.
But the problem is only minor and the World Cup-winner, dressed with his black hoodie over a red cap, was pictured heading to catch his flight from Manchester Airport.
Pogba sustained a gash high up on his left leg, showing the opposition and Shelvey the damage after the foul was made.

Sports3 Reasons Why Neymar Can Win The Ballon D'or In 2019 by Yabageek(op): 11:00am On Jan 04, 2019
www.yabageek.com

At the end of the 2016-17 season, Neymar made the big money switch from Barcelona to PSG. Since then, there has been a lot of turbulence surrounding his move with reports of Neymar not getting along well with Edinson Cavani and also of a rift with then coach of PSG, Unai Emery, who left for Arsenal this season.

For many years now, Neymar has been considered to be the third best player in the world, just behind Lionel
Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. But last year, Neymar was not even in the list of 10 players considered for the FIFA Best Player of the year after PSG went out in the Round of 16 in the Champions League and Brazil were knocked out by Belgium in the World Cup. However, Neymar's performance was good enough to be included in the nominees for the Ballon d'Or award.

Let's take a look at 3 reasons why Neymar can win the Ballon d'Or in 2019:

SportsOmeruo: Iwobi Can Help Nigeria To AFCON Glory by Yabageek(op): 9:30am On Jan 04, 2019
www.yabageek.com

The Super Eagles defender has called upon his team to aim big as his side are led by the Arsenal forward.

Kenneth Omeruo believes that Nigeria's young side should be aiming to win the Africa Cup of Nations and has picked out Arsenal's Alex Iwobi as one of the men to fire them to glory.

Nigeria's last success came in 2013, in a tournament where Omeruo made his competitive debut for the Super Eagles, but subsequently failed to qualify for both the 2015 and 2017 editions.

Manager Gernot Rohr has got Nigeria to the AFCON once again in 2019 though, after narrowly missing out on qualifying from the World Cup group in 2018, and Omeruo thinks that Iwobi will be peaking like the rest of his team come the tournament and feels that Nigeria should aim for the top prize.

“Iwobi has improved a lot and he brings that into the national team as well,” Omeruo told Goal.

“He has good footwork, he moves well and he enjoys what he does. For him, it is fun to play football. He is a really good player but the exciting thing is there’s more to come.

“We have a big chance because we have got some quality players coming up. This set of boys, they are good, young and the coaches are good. Anything can happen now for us.

“If we keep working hard and listen to the coaches then we can achieve a lot for the country. We just need to work together more and increase our understanding of each other. The last meet up was good because we had a lot of time to train.

“Right now, the team keeps changing. When we play together more and understand each other more then we might be the team to beat.”

While still on the first of his six loan spells away from Chelsea, Omeruo was at ADO Den Haag when he was called upon for his national team debut.

Then aged just 19, Omeruo lined up as Nigeria faced a star-studded Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals of the AFCON.

Nigeria ran out 2-1 winners in that clash and Omeruo managed to shut out Didier Drogba in the process.

It was a match that was the making of Omeruo's reputation in Nigeria and the 25-year-old spoke of his time facing the Chelsea legend, who has only recently retired from football.

“The first thing I noticed is that he is strong. Wow, he is strong,” Omeruo added. “I remember going up for my first header against him and I was put on the floor.

“It's a happy memory playing Drogba because it was one of the games that got me known in Nigeria especially - I was known as the defender that stopped Drogba.

“That was the first time I met him. I said to him, 'I am a fan and a Chelsea player' and he, of course, didn’t know me and said 'Really?!'

“He told me to do everything I can to play for Chelsea and what a massive club it was. It meant a lot.”

SportsKlopp: I Would Have Paid To Lead Man City By Four Points by Yabageek(op): 7:13am On Jan 04, 2019
www.yabageek.com

The Reds remain clear of the champions despite going down 2-1 at the Etihad, a scenario that leaves their manager more than content.

Jurgen Klopp says he "would have paid money" to be four points clear of Manchester City in the Premier League after two games against the champions this season.

City ran out 2-1 winners in their meeting at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, moving them back to within four points of the leaders and inflicting a league defeat on the Reds for the first time this season.

Defeat saw Liverpool ultimately pass up the chance to go 10 clear of City, something that, in the eyes of many, would have effectively ended the hosts' title hopes.

As it was, Leroy Sane's 72nd-minute winner blew the title race open once again, as the German clinched victory after Roberto Firmino had cancelled out Sergio Aguero's emphatic opener.

Nevertheless, Klopp did not want to focus on the negative, adamant he never thought it possible to be clear of City after playing their two regulated Premier League fixtures.

"If someone had told me after both games against Man City that we were four points clear, I would have paid money for it, you cannot believe," Klopp told reporters.

"I didn't think it would be possible. Football is like this. If we win this [match] and are 10 points ahead and from that point win no games, then nothing happens. It's really important we take it game by game.

"If we would have won the title five times in the last 10 years, we would say; '100 percent [we'll win it]'. But we don't have experience in it, so why act like someone who wins all the time?

"We never won it as a team so we want to finish the season as good as possible, and that's alright, we can, we're still in a good position.

"It is all fine for us. Not in the moment, it feels really bad, but it is only a moment. Then we have an opportunity to work on it."

Liverpool looked sharper in midfielder after Fabinho had replaced James Milner in the 57th minute, though Klopp did not feel the Brazilian suited the system he wanted to start the match with.

"System wise it wasn't a real alternative in the beginning and we adapted well after we changed, only because Gini [Georginio Wijnaldum] played really well on the left wing, or half left wing, if you like," Klopp said.

"Hendo [Jordan Henderson] was really impressive, and offensively I think we already had more moments [than City] in the game [before Fabinho came on], that's what we showed the boys at half-time.

"Immediately [after half-time] we were a major threat for them. We came through, passed through, the chance of Sadio [Mane] was great.

"There were others moments when we took the ball and accelerated, not immediately passing, because if you can outplay the counter-press every team in the world struggles, even City.

"We had these moments and sometimes the cross wasn't good enough, or the pass – that happens. It's not about two players [Fabinho and Milner].

"You have to constantly work for momentum. That was the game today. There were a lot of really wild moments, a lot of rusty moments. It was really intense for both teams – they won, we lost, that's how it is sometimes."

SportsMO Salah And Liverpool Stars Arrive For Final Training Before Facing Man City by Yabageek(op): 6:11pm On Jan 02, 2019
www.yabageek.com

Liverpool stars have arrived at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon as they prepare to undergo one more training session before their season defining match against Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp's squad were snapped arriving at their training base looking in a particularly focused mood as they look to protect their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool travel to Manchester City on Thursday night with a six-point lead at the top of the table and they could stretch their advantage over Pep Guardiola’s squad to 10 points if they win at the Etihad Stadium.

Earlier on Wednesday, Klopp demanded his players be 'greedy and full of desire' as they look to make the biggest statement of the season yet.

After leading his team to seven consecutive victories, Klopp does not want their intensity to drop as he feels Liverpool will still be underdogs in the game.

He said: 'It's a normal game against Manchester City, a very difficult one - one of the most difficult ones you can play in the modern football world, away at City. We felt that plenty of times.

‘It's a really strong football team with an outstanding manager. We have to be prepared as good as possible, we have to be brave, full of desire, angry - all that stuff, like in all the other games. But the opponent, for me, is still the best team in the world.

‘And I don't say that to say it, I said it weeks ago. It's 100 percent my opinion because the way they play, the things they achieved, the ability and all that stuff. Nothing changed. Only the points changed, but not the preparation for the game.’

Mohamed Salah was among those entering the facility in his black Bentley and was quickly followed by forward partner Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian was all smiles and even waved to the camera as he prepares to return to action off the back of his hat-trick in the sensational 5-1 win over Arsenal last weekend.

Alisson will expect to have a busy evening against City's impressive attack but that didn't seem to faze him as he flashed a thumbs up to the cameras as he drove into the car park.

Defensive powerhouse Virgil van Dijk was also present, as was James Milner who returned to training this week from injury ahead of the game with his former club. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri were all also seen arriving.

SportsJuventus 'set To Make Move For Man United Striker Lukaku' by Yabageek(op): 11:19am On Dec 24, 2018
YABAGEEK.COM

Juventus are 'set to make a move for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku' as the Italian giants plot a raid on Old Trafford.

The Serie A league leaders are on the hunt for forwards to take over from players like 32-year-old Mario Mandzukic, according to CalcioMercato.

Belgian striker Lukaku has scored six goals in 22 appearances for United so far in this campaign.

The 25-year-old, who missed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first win as United boss on Saturday due to compassionate leave, is not the only United player on the Italian club's radar.

Sportsmail reported last week that Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola held talks with Juventus but United do not wish to sell him.

Raiola is understood to have discussed a number of his clients with the Italian champions, who hold an interest in re-signing the midfielder they sold to United for £89million back in 2016.

The former Red Devils manager offered his thoughts following his exit from the Theatre of Dreams after a tumultuous campaign.

Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has told reporters that he and the club will survive without the other after his dismissal, a day after he was booted from the hotseat at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese led the Red Devils to Europa League and domestic success during his tenure at the helm, but a poor run of form across the first half of the 2018-19 campaign has seen him pay the price.

Former United forward Ole Gunner Solskjaer has taken charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

And, while much of the football world has been discussing United's decision and what the future might hold for Mourinho, the departed manager was relatively tight-lipped on his tenure and plans as he appeared publicly for the first time since the news broke.

Trailed by members of the media as he left his house in London, Mourinho responded to queries from Sky Sports saying that both himself and the club have futures without the other.

"I think you know me, I don't change," the 55-year-old said. "What I did when I left Chelsea for example is that same that I'm going to do now.

"I keep the good things and I don't speak about anything that happened in the club. I could speak about not as good but that's not me.

"Manchester United has a future without me and I have a future without Manchester United.

"It's over, that's me and that's how I've always been. I was always very critical of managers that leave clubs and then they come out and they speak about the details of what happened, who is to blame. That's not me.

"Until I get back to football I feel I have to right to live my normal life."

Originally arriving at Old Trafford in 2016 to replace Louis van Gaal, Mourinho endured a tough domestic campaign in the Premier League during his first season in charge, but brought the club silverware in both the Europa League and the League Cup.

Jose Mourinho refused to answer questions about his future as he took a stroll the day after being sacked by Manchester United.

His tumultuous two-and-a-half year spell at Old Trafford came to an end on Tuesday, and he has returned to the family home in London having stayed in the Lowry Hotel during his time in Manchester.

Mourinho was approached by Sky Sports News as he walked down the street, but he was not in the mood to discuss his future in management.

He was dismissed by United on Tuesday morning, 48 hours after they lost 3-1 to rivals Liverpool to continue an abysmal start to the league season.

United have just 26 points from 17 league games, their lowest ever tally at this stage of a Premier League season.

Mourinho, despite winning the EFL Cup and Europa League at Old Trafford, saw his time at the club overshadowed by rocky relationships with the media, club officials and his own players, notably Paul Pogba.

Manchester United's players have arrived for training, the day after the sacking of former manager Jose Mourinho.

Paul Pogba was among the stars seen arriving at Carrington on Wednesday morning, 24 hours after Mourinho's controversy-strewn two and a half year spell at the club ended.

Pogba looked in relaxed mood, sipping from a water bottle and checking his phone as he was driven into the United complex.

The midfielder regularly fell out with Mourinho since arriving for a then-world record £89million fee back in 2016, and was reportedly high-fiving team mates in delight on Tuesday after hearing the boss had gone.

Along with the players, there was the unusual sight of United board member and former chief executive David Gill arriving at the training ground.

He was likely there to welcome United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has been appointed caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho's sacking as Manchester United manager came as little surprise to many.

As we all know Mourinho was finally given the boot on Tuesday morning by chief executive Ed Woodward at the club's Carrington training complex.

Here, Sportsmail details what happened from the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool to Mourinho's final minutes as manager.

Mourinho is understood to have settled his room service charges on a weekly basis during his lengthy stay in one of the upmarket hotel's six, plush Riverside Suites.

After United picked up the tab for his first few months, the Portuguese negotiated his own special rate and became well known to staff, many of whom were said to be 'heartbroken' at news of his sacking.

SportsZidane Will Not Take Over At Manchester United (sport) by Yabageek(op): 5:44pm On Dec 18, 2018
The former Real Madrid boss is not in a rush to return to coaching.

Jose Mourinho's been officially sacked as Manchester United coach and the candidates to replace him are slowly emerging.

Among the options is Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid coach. However, SPORT can confirm that the Frenchman will not take over at Old Trafford -- at least not in the short-term.

Zidane is clear that he wants to continue enjoying some downtime after almost three years in charge of Madrid, where he won three Champions Leagues.

He is in no rush to return to the came and for that reason he's not seduced by the idea of taking over at United mid-season, with the club struggling in the Premier League.

Of course, in the long run, he does want to return to the bench, but it will have to be something which excited him more than United currently does.

It will be difficult to match the success he had at Madrid -- and he would never rule out a return to the Bernabeu -- but he's likely to remain out of work until at least the summer.

SportsMan Utd Will Pay £24m To Mourinho If They Sack Him Ore The End Of January Window by Yabageek(op): 10:29am On Dec 18, 2018

Man Utd need to pay £24m if they sack Mourinho before the end of January window.

Record Sport has been told that the deal includes a severance package equivalent to one year's salary. With 25 percent of Mourinho's pay conditional on qualification for Europe's premier club competition, United would remain liable for the Champions League “top-up” were they to dismiss their manager while he was still in this season's competition or in contention for fourth place in the Premier League.

The Glazers sacked both of Mourinho's predecessors only after each of them had failed to achieve Champions League qualification, with the intention of saving similar sums on their pay-offs.

David Moyes went in April 2014 with four league games remaining. Louis van Gaal was dismissed on the day of United's 2016 FA Cup Final win. Neither was informed of their imminent departures by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

SportsMan Utd Trigger One-year Option On Anthony Martial's Deal Until 2020 by Yabageek(op): 8:17pm On Dec 17, 2018

The France forward's present deal was due to expire this summer, having joined the club from Monaco for an initial £36million in 2015.

However, the Red Devils have protected their investment by activating an extra year on his contract.

It's a ploy that the Old Trafford outfit have used regularly - with David de Gea the most recent example last month.

Talks are still ongoing between Martial's representatitves and the club's hierarchy over a new contract - one separate to Monday's extension.

Before the start of this term it was feared that Martial could have left in the summer transfer window after a pre-season spat with Jose Mourinho over the attendance of his child being born.

However, Martial has proven his worth to the much-maligned manager by scoring eight goals in 19 appearances in all competitions for the club. His strikes have been largely decisive too - contributing to league wins against Newcastle, Everton and Bournemouth as well as draws against Chelsea and Arsenal.

The news about the 23-year-old will be a positive among United supporters in an otherwise bleak campaign - with Martial a firm fan favourite.

Manchester United have secured the services of Anthony Martial for another year after triggering an option to extend his stay at Old Trafford until 2020.
